  1. Hi Asha, Our ceremony started at 4:30...even later than that cause we were late Dance started around 8:30. So you will have more than enough time Jennifer
  2. No I had a makeup trial done at the shoppers beauty boutique and then purchased all the items and did my own.
  3. - mammajuana - very delish! Combination of bark, red wine, rum, and honey. You will do many of these shots thought your stay! - majestic drink - also delish. Tastes like an orange creamsicle - presidente beer from Dominican - yes to leaving couple of bucks in fridge. It is restocked daily. - brushing teeth : I brushed with tap water... No big deal - snack bar - good food when you've been drinking all night. Funny to see kittens running all over the place when you are sober...lol! - casino...very crappy. Does not even compare - coco's night cub - closes at 4 I believe - shows every night in theatre, with exception of the night the beach party - there are basketball/tennis courts but wayyyy to hot...direct sun - water sports are included - they do enforce dress code Also...there is a market near the resort 5 mins down the road by walking. If you ask the bell man to call one of his friends, they will arrange transport for you and bring you right to their friends shop (Edgar #61) and no one else will haggle you! Totally worth it
  4. We travelled with Air Transat and they were free, as well as a separate bag of "sports equipment" that we brought all our snorkelling gear in. Just check out your travel company online and they will have what you can bring
  5. H Hi Vanessa, We did several excursions while we were there... - Razr side by side - there are two different trips, one along the beach and one that goes to an underground cave that you caN swim in - Saona island (highly recommend!) - shopping trip to San Juan shopping centre for the ladies - reef explorer (loved this!) - and we also rented a private van to drive us to santo Domingo for the day. Amazing experience! Have fun!
  6. Hi there. I just returned from Punta Cana. We stayed one week at the Colonial, and then one week at the Elegance. When we checked in for our second week at the Elegance, they allowed us to keep our wristbands for the Colonial so that we could use both sides. Your guests who choose to stay at the Colonial side will not be able to come to the Elegance side tho . All of us that stayed at both resorts much preferred the food and atmosphere of the Colonial, and most days would return to the colonial for lunch as their buffets are much better. The rooms are a little nicer at the Elegance, but if I had my time back we would have stayed both weeks at the colonial. Hope that helps
  7. Hi ladies, I just got home from Punta Cana. My wedding took place on March 10, 2013. It was amazing. Everyone loved the JF and said it was the best wedding they had EVER been to. If Anyone has specific questions about the place let me know while its fresh in my memory.
  8. Hi Ana, Jellyfish was a bit more expensive than the resort (Majestic Colonial). But the resort did 4 weddings per day, and looked all cookie cutter. You will absolutely not be disappointed with JF. It is 100% worth the extra money
  9. We are staying at Majestic Colonial for one week and then Majestic Elegance for one week. My meeting is on the 7th And also does anyone know what credit card you can pay with? I have heard that you can pay mastercard up to $1000 and then AMEX unlimited....but the only one Mayte mentioned was AMEX. Thanks!
  10. Hello everyone, So I leave for DR in 5 days!!! I am just doing some last minute budgeting and trying to figure out who and how much people will be tipping? Any direction is greatly appreciated!
  11. Has anyone tried the spray tanning at the resort? If so, what are your thoughts?
  12. Hi ladies!! I just have a few more questions... What bar option is everyone going with? I am having trouble deciding on this...don't know if it would be better to do a tab as there are several guests that don't drink alcohol. Does anyone know how much they charge for water, juice, and pop? And also, for brides that have already been there: what appetizers are a must have, and which ones could you do without? Thanks ladies.

  14. And now for a monetary question... What have people decided on for tipping? I have no clue and need some direction so I don't screw it up and offend someone.
  15. Happy New Year brides! My wedding is fast approaching...2 months to go! Wondering if anyone has come up with an itinerary for the day for those brides that will be doing both the ceremony and reception at the Jellyfish Restaurant. My ceremony starts at 4:30 and I'm just wondering how to plan the evening out. Thanks!
  16. Hi Christie, I am from Calgary as well . We were also not ble to get Pastor York, but we are going with the pastor he works with who is covering for him while he is doing mission work. Pastor York assured me he has the same style/personality and all communication is through Pastor York. So fingers crossed this other pastor will be great. I can let you know how he is in less than 6 short months!
  17. We are doing a love letter ceremony. We wanted something unique, and feel like the sand ceremony is so overdone. If you google "love letter ceremony" or "love letter box" it will give you some ideas on the ceremony. Let me know what you think
  18. Jadee, I gave up my date of April 13, 2013 just 2 months ago...so I would definitely check! Good luck
  19. Hi ladies, Do you know how well the wine will keep over the years if it is not in a cold cellar? We are thinking of doing this idea, but may just use a hard liquor instead?
  20. Hi Allie, Yes my cardstock was pre-scored so folded nicely. I ended up switching to those little double sided sticky squares used in scrapbooking for photos and those have worked well. Thanks for all the suggestions. Greatly appreciated!
  21. Oh I now notice that you asked for the Elegance price list....oops I have the Colonial. So if anyone wants THAT one let me know
  22. Hi guys, I bought a tape runner dispenser from Michael's, and it didn't seem to hold the cardstock together for any extended amount of time. I am using it to hold the folded cardtock (110 lb) together to make a sleeve for my boarding pass invitations. Any other suggestions? Or a brand that is super strong? Thanks!
  23. I have the price list for the salon. Send me your emails and I will forward you it
  24. Thanks miss bubbles. We are having the ceremony and reception off resort, so it would just be for pictures of us getting ready in the room. I really don't want to pay over $300 for just an hour of pics on the resort. I wonder how I could get around this...
