  3. Is anyone shipping boxes with your wedding accessories etc...to the resort to save on the cost of flying with the boxes?
  4. I'm very OCD lol! I legit stalk them and call and email all the time until I get what I want in "writting" to secure locations etc. the guitar play is 390 for 1 hr. I'm using Lilly from Zungia. She sent me a package with decor and prices so I picked from that. I was sent a packet of BP with prices for entertainment and extras... Fireworks, cigar roller, etc... I can email it out if you do not have it. For programs I am doing a program that doubles as a fan. I'm getting these made from etsy. Since its gonna be super hot, it will be nice for guests to have that I thought. I'm also doing maracas at the reception with a saying tied to them..."instead of tapping on your glass, here's a system with Mexican class.. Stand and shake with all your might, to see the groom kiss his bride tonight!". PM me your email address if you need the price lists.   5. Hey Ladies. I've been super busy and not on the site. As I have said before, my wedding is May 24, 2013...slowly approaching. As usual, I was not informed that Clarissa left. The disorganization makes me crazy!! I am now in contact with Marisol. She has been very helpful! I was able to secure the sky terrace for my ceremony and the ballroom for my reception, I think AC will be necessary. I am getting married via a symbolic ceremony at 4, having cocktail hr on the beach from 4:30-6, and having my reception from 6-10:30 in the ballroom. I am bringing in DJ mania, DEl Sol Photography, and Norma from MAC for hair and makeup. I have 8 bridesmaids plus my mom, that they are also doing. I currently have 40 rooms booked. We are expecting appx 100 people. RSVP's are due back to me by March 1st. I'm doing the complimentary package. I'm adding aisle bows to the chairs and flowers at the front for the ceremony. I have chosen the guitar player they offer to play at cocktail hour. For the reception, I am having the draping on the ceilings, flowers, and chair bows. I also hired the cigar roller they provide to be used as a favor for my guests. I have bought a few signs, thumb print guest book tree, ceremony stuff, ring barer and flower girl stuff and some reception decor on ETSY to be used at the ceremony and reception. My colors are pink, aqua, and white. We have chosen the international 2 menu for cocktail hr and the mexican feast for the buffet dinner. I love funfetti, so I'm bringing boxed mixes for the Chef's to make as my "cake". Everyone says everything falls into place once your there so I hope thats true. Its very scary to only talk via the phone or email with your "wedding planner". We are getting our stay for free bc of the number of rooms we have booked so far. We are going to be spending appx $10,000 on everything for the wedding including fee's, vendors, extra time, flowers, hair and makeup, bridal party gifts etc...I heard they don't usually make you pay extra set up or extra time fee's once your there...hopefully thats true. SO those are my current plans and where I am at. I have sent pics to Lilly at Zungia to show her what look I am going for and what flowers I like. I only can pray it looks the same!   6. Hey Girls! I'm in May also! I have been a huge slacker with planning. I'm not gonna secure my Dj (DJ Mania) or photographer (Del Sol) until January. I already have 24 rooms booked, and still haven't sent out an invite (they are in the process of being printed). I wish the resort would be up front about pricing etc...it's very annoying. Im expecting about 90 guests. So I need to add on and change a lot of things to make it perfect for us. What part of planning are you guys at?
  7. I signed a group contract and reserved 40 rooms. I had to pay my stay in full in order to do that. I was given a booking code, and people can call or use my online link to book. Every 15 days, I get an update of who booked so I can keep track of room numbers. My Wedding is May 24, and I am going with the 4pm time. I am using fine are studio as a photographer. I am also bringing in DJ Mania for music. I have not discussed food/decor/locations yet. I am just to busy with school and don't have time to worry about all that yet. I am doing the complimentary package. I am expecting 80-100 people, so I was assuming I would have to pay extra for food, cake, tables etc..? But I am not sure. I also believe I have to pay extra to extend the time of my reception. I want it to be at least 4 hours with a 1 hour cocktail party. I am not familiar with Zuniga...is it necessary to contact her? I am bringing a lot of my own decor. And again I was told there was a set up fee, but I am going to fight that. I was able to negotiate price lower than expedia/travelocity etc...so people actually want to use my code. This is a very confusing and frustrating process. I'm hoping the experience gets better.
  8. I'm between Del Sol and Fine Art Studio...No fee with Del Sol, and I would but FAS a night at the resort because it is cheaper than the $500 fee.
  9. Has anyone been in contact with Clarissa out of the Cancun office? She took over Charmaine's accounts who used to be in Miami. I went to sign my group contract today and pay my stay in full, then she told me they will only except a check or wire transfer. This is CRAZY to me. Did anyone else get told that they had to pay that way?
  10. I have never heard of the outside vendor for decor. Do we think it's necessary? Or should I trust what they select at the resort!!? I'm so lost!

  13. I'm a May 24 2013 BP bride. Sooo today they told me all I had to leave was a deposit for one night in order to reserve the date and get a group booking code for my invites...which i did, via email, not fax, hope that is ok? Now on this blog and online people are are saying you need to pay in full and sign a group contract with room blocks to get a booking code?? anyone run into this problem. I also do not feel comfortable not knowing where my ceremony and reception will be. I want both to be on the sky terrace. 3 months before is iffy and if I do not get what I want i will freak!!! Any suggestions?

Does anyone know the true story...This is making me crazy right now...wish the had a 24hr line.
  15. I'm getting married there May 2013. We chose the 6pm time for sunset. I would love to hear about your experience and if they held multiple weddings the day of yours and if you got what you wanted for locations. Thanks, Breanna
