  1. My FI and I are 7 years apart and he doesn't want to wait either.

@@jackshayne0123 - I know what you mean about the non control thing I think that is what bothers me the most about it, "what do you mean I have to sit back and just wait for it to happen" that isn't my character at all!!!

I am glad to see there are some more ladies that have joined in, I was beginning to think that I was the only one lol

  2. Luckily my sister and brother are not close to TTC but I get it, my best friend and her husband are trying so her and I are supporting racing each other lol. I am the same I want it now I am not the best at waiting actually I really, really suck at it so hopefully it doesn't take that long although I have read it can take a year... and to think of all the crap you go through to try to prevent it from happening! How is your DH about everything? Excited nervous??

  3. OOOH I haven't gone there yet, as to buying the book but that's a good idea I never thought of it before!

Sounds like our hubbies are thinking along the same lines... today one of our friends announced that they are prego with their second baby so happy for them and I will admit its the first time that I was actually a little jealous and not like thank god its you and not us LOL funny how you spend so many years trying so hard not to get prego and now I want it!

Good luck, there doesn't seem to be that many people on this thread so we will have to be there for each other for a while!

  4. @@csho I am planning on taking Troy's name once I have received our marriage certificate, make a long story short his sister and mom couldn't believe that I wasn't going to change it and they were making a huge deal about it... I honestly didn't care enough to have that fight so I decided that I would change it, then it came out while we were in Cuba that Troy really wants me to change my last name as well, so I figure if that's what they really want then why not, I think that it is a dumb tradition but like I said if it mean that much to him and his family then why not just do it!

@@alley08 I am glad to hear that everything went so well, sounds exactly like me I wasn't even a little nervous on wedding day until I was waiting for the golf cart to come get me and then it hit me and the tears started! Now Tuesday the day before the wedding I wasn't nervous but I was a mess I cried all day I was just so happy and overwhelmed about how many people came to make our day so amazing... this is the reason that we didn't do our own vows I couldn't get through the thanks at the welcome party I would never have been able to say vows! LOL

  5. LOL @@csho that's funny so many people ask me this, honestly it is the same as it was before we got married we lived together so I think that we knew what we were in for... but no its good it still sounds a little foreign to me when Troy calls me his wife stuff like that but its pretty cool, we only have a few couple friends who are married so its like we are in a club!

I think the engraved Bubba Keg idea is awesome!

  6. I know I was noticing that... There really doesn't seem to be a whole lot of posting going on!! But seriously those cups are awesome... our travel agent sent out cups to everyone that booked with us, so they weren't "our" cups but everyone in the group had one so it was still pretty cool, and I didn't have to bring them down with me which was also awesome!

  7. Ladies, We were married in November and I went off BC right after that, we aren't being crazy just not preventing right now... considering that we have been together 6 years I don't think that we need anymore time being newlyweds but I understand how some guys think that time is needed... LOL @@Lua I think that you are right that guys don't get crazy like us, but I have heard my DH say to a friend a little while ago that he was excited to have kids which is great because I am going to be 31 this year and he is going to be 38 we cant wait much longer LMAO.

As for the original question of making changes before we start really trying I think that we are going to go with the flow and make the changes once we have conceived I don't want to stress my self out making a bunch of life changes before hand!

I am glad to see that this board is a little more active I have been watching, I know how much support I got here when planning my DDW and hope to make new friends here as well!

I know that I was married at another resort but I think that Cuba has weddings down to an art... don't stress about anything they will figure out something to fix anything, when we woke up it was pouring... but it stopped with plenty of time for the ceremony and then started again after dinner so they moved our reception into the disco and we had just as much fun there! the one biggest piece of advise that I can give is don't sweat the small stuff and take it all in the day went by in a blur!!!

I know its funny I keep talking about how excited I am for our holiday (it has been a long time since we last had some time off) and I keep forgetting the whole reason that we are going there!! Whoop it is going to be amazing!

Yes I have to pick up my guest book but other than that I am done, done, done no more! I think that I will pack tonight or tomorrow, it's funny since we have been a week away the calls and texts and Facebook messages that I have been getting everyone is super excited!

Are you already to leave? Besides your packing

I will let you know for sure... yes packing is pretty much all that is left... tomorrow is my last day in the office, and then Friday I am getting my lashes done, and my hair, Saturday is my waxing and Sunday I drop my puppies off at the kennel and then have a waxing party at 2 there about 10 of us girls going to get our nails done while the boys go to Tommy Guns for shaves and hair cuts... then dinner Sunday night, and first thing Monday morning we fly out! YAY!!!!! Anything that isn't done at this point isn't getting done, but I am pretty sure that I have done everything... I took some random pictures I will try to post them this afternoon so you ladies can see what I've been up too! LOL

  11. We are flying Transat and we upgraded to Club Class so we get 88 kilos each... I actually think that it is a little ridiculous, but I haven't packed yet so we will see, also one of my Bridesmaids and her husband are flying Club as well so there is more weight there if I need it!

7 days unit we leave, and in about an hour only 3 more working days and I will be on holidays!

Yes I got it a few weeks ago, I will try to remember to take a picture of it and post it on Monday!

Yeah we were good with all the lights off we seemed to be good, no one came to the door which was awesome!

Thanks they are both littler personalities that's for sure... but they are my babies right now, I am actually a little nervous to leave them while we are gone, they are staying at my moms best friends kennel for the first week and then my mom is going to pick them up when they get back, but I have never left them at a kennel before, I am sure they are going to have so much fun but I am still worried about leaving them!

  13. We leave on November 11 @ 9:30am, I know I cannot believe that a year has gone by so quick... it is really starting to be real now, all of our guests are super excited and people cant stop talking about it, it is going to be so, so much fun!

I am not 100% sure I know I am ready I have everything that I need and I am organized, just have to pack! But as soon as I sleep I am having nightmares that everything that can go wrong does... even things that I know will be fine, and seriously it is what it is I am not worried at all, but my subconscious apparently cant stop worrying about it so hence the no sleep or very, very little!

I am done work a week tomorrow and then Friday am scheduled to run around getting poked and waxed and then Sunday there is a group of about 10 of us girls that are going in for a kind of nail party so that will be a lot of fun!!!!!!

Don't worry I will make sure that I am back to post pictures and have advice and tell you girls all about it, I know why people have babies after they get married I am not sure what I am going to do with all of my free time! LOL

I'm not very good at negotiating. It goes something like this, "It'd be wonderful if we could have an extra piece of luggage since we're the bride and groom and have helped book all these guests on Air Transat flights." Travel agent "I'll see how much first class will cost you." Me in a small voice, "nevermind...." Nice that you got your guests free seat selection! We didn't have nearly as many guests, so we didn't get anything additional unfortunately. Option plus sounds good though. I don't think they'll care that much at the airport that we're on our way to our wedding because I imagine there will be 7 other couples on our same flight that are as well. I do however think they will help me out with my dress. I've heard they have a special bride closet on the planes, but even if they don't I've shoved it in a pretty small overhead bin already with not much of a problem.

I'm getting a spray tan and then using tanning lotion to extend that until the wedding. I promised my Mom a long time ago to stop going to tanning beds. Depending on how soon your wedding is after you leave, a spray tan could look really phenomenal! I'm doing my trial tan in two days to make sure it's not orange.

I had some major issues when I originally booked so me it wasn't so much negotiating but yelling until they have me something... I have read on their website that wedding dresses are no problem for carry on, but they don't have a closet so you will have to lay it flat  in the overhead... my dress is huge once I put it in no one will be able to get anything else in there! LOL

I am going tanning, I know that it isn't good for you, but a) I spent all summer in the shade to make sure that I didn't have stupid tan lines, and B) I figure a base tan before I go is better than a burn when I get there, because no matter what if I don't have at least a base I always burn... and I think that burning is worse then a few minutes in a tanning bed, or at least that is what I am telling myself...

I'm gonna keep my fingers and toes crossed.  I am sure we will make the best of whatever kind of weather we get, but i hope, i really really HOPE it's like how you say it was in Mexico!! :S thanks!

When we were in PC the forecast was exactly what it is now... rain every day, but it turned out that it was an evening shower lasting about 10 minutes... the first day we ran for cover, then we realized that it was a warm rain and was actually nice and refreshing! I am sure that it will be fine (not that it makes it any less stressful but rain on your wedding day is supposed good luck)
