You are totally right Jolene... the venue is going to be so beautiful on its own you are right. I hvae rethought it and re-looked at photos of table set-ups and it really doesn't look like there is even mcuh space once to put anything once you have people seated on both sides of the table. Soooo I am definitely working on simplifying what I envision. I bought the really cute small candles in dark and light coral at the dollarstore they are pretty awesome! So thats my first decoration purchase lol and I am debating between coral petals or those diamond things (I think they'd work better as the petals might fly away in the wind) but I can't seem to find them in the colour I'd like... oh well I'll keep on checking!

I know exactly how you feel, and I had to scale back as well, but I figured you know what we are getting married at one of the worlds top 10 beaches what more of a scene do you need and really anything else may take away from that! It took me awhile to get there but you will as well, a few things to compliment like starfish or seashells but do weigh yourself down with tons of stuff, enjoy the beach and water and perfect sunsets!

That is a lot of stuff to take down, but if you are set on it then I would ask the bridal party and parents to split it all up and take it down... maybe also think of leaving it there when you are done... it is really pretty thats for sure!

I am doing the same I got the petals off ebay in my colous and then I bought those "fake" diamonds to put all around the petals, I think it will look good and wont be too heavy to bring down there! I wanted to do sunken orchards or something like that but I dont want to bring down a bunch of stuff they might break!

I did the same thing...I sent out invites with the save the dates last November (2012) for my November 2013 wedding. I didn't bother with RSVP's either. I figured whoever wanted to come would contact the agent and then I got a list from her for numbers, I didn't want to stress about RSVP's. We actually have a great turnout, about 45 guests which I am happy with. I am sending out an information package to keep people excited...that will be going out in late August.

I was even longer then that. I send the Save the Dates in November 2012 (fo rmy November 2013 wedding) and then sent the invitations out in early March asking an RSVP of June 15. I've got a good chunk back. But not all. Some family booked with my travel agent and then didn't send the RSBP back. What can you do. *shrugs*

Tealmarie wow that dress is amazing, I love the lace, it is stunning, and two ways that is so cool too becasue it is like you have two dresses!

Csho, that picture is stunning your FI is going to love it! My Fi got a linen suit on Studiosuits.com it is perfect, he wont let me take his picture in it but I love it! I am in the same psoition I really dont even want to buy a wedding band LOL this is the one thing that I havent done yet, I dont want to spend a fortune on it and also the setting on my engagement ring comes out fromt he band so I need one of those curved bands PS I hate them... LOL I think that I am just going to get a really, really thin wedding band that will hopefully sit under the setting or maybe a little space out from it but like I said this frustrates me to no end, I am going to wind up leaving it so long that I will be stuck with soemthing from Walmart LOL

Hope everyone's planning is going smoothly.
YAY!!! I know I hated that part the most, waiting and stressing and more waiting!

I figured that was probably also the case, but I know that most people don't realize that americans can go to Cuba!
And don't worry you have loads of time, some of these ladies are so organized it is scary, I am like you I owrk better under pressure LOL

I just received an email from my travel agent and there are 28 people confirmed and more bookings happening everyday. I'm sooo thrilled. There are people coming that I never thought would come so a nice surprise there.
Tried on my first wedding dress while we were on vacation. We were in Myrtle Beach visiting my fiances grandmother and since she is from the US she can't travel with us to Cuba so I thought it would be nice for us to have that experience together. Didn't find anything I absolutely loved but it was nice to know what style of dress and which colour will look the best on me. We had an awesome time.
Now that everyone is booked I guess it's time to start getting some other things done. I'm such a procrastinator lol
I'll post anything I get done
Hope everyone's planning is coming along
Alley,
you should look into it but if your Grandamother wants to come, americans can go to Cuba they just cannot fly direct from US they have to come to Canada or somewhere else that will fly there, Cubans don't care about the "rule" about Americans visiting their country it is the USA governement that has the problem, but they dont stamp your passport at customs in Cuba so it wouldnt be a problem! I know all of this becasue I work with a guy that is an american and he just went to Cuba in march!
Just incase his gradmother wanted to attend I know that it is possible just a little extra work and travel!

I have been slowly working on my barefoot sandals for the ladies, right now I am committing to do a pair for every female that is coming but my FI thinks that it will be luck if I get enough done for the bridesmaids LOL I am the queen of starting a project but not finishing, I did one pair last night bringing my total to 2! I have 25 females attanding, but I did order super cute bags for them so maybe that will be my insperation to get them done!
Kay - 2 jobs that is crazy, I did it for 5 years up until last February and now looking back I am not sure how I pulled it off! Good for you!
-
I know I was thinking the same thing this morning, but I guess everyone is taking a little break... not sure really!
-
Kay thats great!

Yep you should see my list with scribbles and all so funny and then I noticed a list I have at work for all my work stuff, and what do you know it looks exactly like my wedding list!
-
I have to otherwise I will lose it!! 6 months still seems like a while, but like I said to my FI we have already been engaged over a year so this will fly by to!Good for you. It sounds like you have the right attitude about it! Also ladies, yesterday was our 6 month mark before the wedding day! Ok, I will stop counting down now -
Thanks ladies I am pretty excited about it, I think that you are right a dont think that I am going to bustle it and I think that instead of getting cups put in I will get those gel boobs... I hate David's Bridal so i think that I am going to order one off ebay and then if worse comes to worse I will go and get one there at least I know they are there!
I am getting married legally in Cuba, Belkis who is the coordinator at Iberostar Varadero (where I am actually getting married) Said that she will let me know when she needs to form filled out and copies of our documentation about 3 months prior. I figure that it is so easy to get married legally there that why not it will save me the $300 here to do it before we go! You just bring your passport and birth certificate and nothing needs to be translated unless you are previously divorced or widowed, and since that isnt us so it will be easy!
I actually do have a few things like I ordered a hanger from Etsy so I am waiting for that to arrive, I need a flower clip for my hair! Bout pins for the groomsmen small stuff like that but all the bigger stuff is done so easy walk in the park from here. (yeah right we will see come September LOL)

Ladies, did we figure out the contact info for a good seamstress, I got my dress Friday and I am not sure if I am going to get an alterations or not, everything is great I may add cups (no boobs) and possibly a bustle although I am not sure the train isnt that long but I would like to go to someone who doesnt charge as much as these bridal stores I cannot believe that this isnt included after you spend so much on a dress, I am being cheap but I would like to save a little where I can!

We have never done a 2 week vacation and we pretty much go somewhere every year, so we are both really excited that we will be there for 2 weeks, not to mention the fact that FI only gets 3 weeks holidays, so there have been a few days here and there but we arent taking a "holiday" until the wedding, and last year we went away in May and then a week in BC last summer so it has been a long year thats for sure! On the other hand I have 6 weeks this year, and I carried one over and have 2 1/2 days per quater so I have been taking time here and there, but with 65 people coming it will be nice to sit back and relax once everyone has gone home! 4 month on Thursday!!!!
