Modizzle: I am having the same issue trying to find people that are getting married at the Tropical and not the Palace. Did you book your wedding? We are getting married August 13, 2012 at the Tropical.

We are getting married in August with 42 people and I'm trying to decide if we want to do a full blown reception or have a dinner in one of the restaurants. We are having a reception at home so I am worried about the costs racking up in mexico! Any help would be great! Thanks in advance!

Girls, If you have ANY questions about the resort or the wedding please let me know. My sister in law was married there in August of 2009 and it was a wonderful event. I am planning my wedding in Mexico for this August and am jealous we will not be able to go back to the same resort (we just don't want everyone to have to go back to the same resort 2 times in a row). So, we chose to be married at another place and the wedding packages are not NEAR as inclusive as what the Marival was. Most other resorts put a cap on how many people you can have for your dinner, toast, and cake. Marival did not. The only thing I can say was slightly disappointing was the ceremony. It was done by a Spanish speaking judge and one of the wedding coordinators translated. But, it was just kindof strange because she was translating while the judge was still talking. I know you have to be married by a judge legally but I would suggest maybe having the ceremony done by an enlglish speaking minister if you want an intimate/personal ceremony and not just a judge talking about the legality of it. Her pictures were awesome also! The photographer did alot of them on the resort and several on the beach. The dinner seemed like a full blown reception dinner with a head table, decorations, a cake table. We did it in the Italian restaurant and the food was wonderful. We were in a semi private are but truthfully we had 50 people and I don't ever remember any other people around. We all went to the bar after and had a few drinks. The entire day was wonderful. It seemed like they paid alot of money for a ceremony/reception and they did not because the resort offers it free if so many people book in the hotel. If you have kids, I did not see very much for them to do. When we were there they did not have a full blown kids area with slides and pools and fun stuff for them. We didn't have any kids so it wasn't that big of a deal. But since there was no place for the kids to be they were always around the alcohol swim up bar (only one of the swim up bars serves alcohol FYI). It wasnt that nig of a deal but if you want to get away from kids this is not the resort to do it. The beach was decent. It's puerto vallarta so you can't expect the water to be clear or the sand to be white. But, it was still a gorgeous beach even without the white sand and clear water. I am also deciding between the two resorts! There are cons to each one. Can anyone help me with these two things... 1.) Sandos playacar's websites says drinks/sodas/alcohol are only included from 11am to 2am? So, if we want a bloody mary with our breakfast can we find one on the resort? What time does the swimup bar open? The whole no alcohol might be an issue for some of our guest- we will have several people between 18-28 that would like to have a cocktail with their breakfast. But, websites like Apple vacations and expedia say 24 hour drinks and alcohol? I'm soooo confused!!!! - Sandos has a much better wedding package for our budget and the amount of people that are coming so I am hoping that the drink situation is not as bad as it reads on their website! 2.) Ocean Coral says the property is non-smoking. Is this just in the rooms? We have LOTS of smokers in our group and I'm concerned that this will be a major issue. Any help will be FABULOUS!!!! Thank you for any help! This whole destination wedding thing is sooo much more stressful than I had expected!!!! Picking a resort for 40-60 people is about making me pull my hair out!!! Haha! Question ladies. Does anyone know if the all-inclusive part is only from 11am to 2am? There are several people in my party that might not like the fact they can't get a cocktail until 11am. I read different things on different websites. Anyone that has already been there have any idea? Thank you in advance!

I went there for a wedding! IT WAS FABULOUS! Im engaged and would pick there in a heart beat. The complimentary package was so detailed! There were around 50 guests in our group and I couldnt believe how nice they made it! If my brother wouldnt of been married there we would of picked there for our destination wedding. But now its back to the drawing board. Nothing I have seen even comes close to their wedding at the Marival!

Yeah I have but noone seems to of picked the coconut paradise package :-( We are needing to pick a resort. Do you have any tip son how to get the wedding coordinator to respond? Thanks for any help!

Did anyone use the "sandos" package. We are thinking of it just because of price. We will be having 25-60 people but I am concerned about having the dinner? Will they accomodate that large of a group? ANy information will help!

Is anyone doing the coconut paradise package? I'm having a hard time finding out how many rooms I have to book to get this package?!? The wedding coordinators are not getting back with me. I'm going to have 25-60 people and we just can't afford the other packages on top of the hotel package. I'm not wanting anything super nice but I just want all of my guests to be able to eat together after the cermemony? The website says everything from 25 rooms nights to 100 room nights! I'm so confused! Any information would be great! Thanks in advance!
