HI Ladies! I'm an October bride getting married at PPC. I came across your chat, and wanted to suggest you read the thread Paradius Punta Cana. Apparently several brides are having some sort of issue regarding the hiring of their photographers because of a fee of $1,000 that non-preferred vendors have to pay. Like I said, read the last couple of pages within the thread so you can better understand. I don't want you to freak out, but it's better to be well informed!

It really depends on the size of your wedding. Like I mentioned before, I had MAJOR issues getting assigned to a planner after she was let go. So my fiancee and I were more than happy to pay to have her! Just email her, and try to set up a call. She is so worth it!!! And I'm sure can give you some advice regarding the issues you are currently having. Honestly, I was a bit worried before she told me her rate just because I figured I would use Miguelina since she already came included with the package. But after talking with Theresa, and she told me her rate, I don't think it's high at all, and total worth it.

Hi Sfumosa- I'm on the same boat as you! However, after speaking to my planner today, she also suggested having our guests stay at a hotel nearby. She suggested Occidental Grand Punta Cana. It's so close, guest can walk over from the beach. With this option however, your guest will have to pay for a daily pass of $97 to enter PPC. Once I get my rate from TA I will let you know

Good Morning Ladies!!!! I was wondering if you all received your contracts back signed back from the resort? I read some where that they do not sign they're contracts and was hoping to get feed back from you. I'm currently having some major issues with the Miami office and I feel super stressed out, so I apologize for the constant questions!

Well- Since I found out via this blog regarding Theresa, I was VERY UPSET! Yeah, Theresa saved me a lot of money! I hadn't really started any of the major planning, but just by her suggestion of switching my date to a week earlier, I saved A LOT! She also had mentioned about her son getting married there which I liked because she seemed to totally understand the ins and outs of getting married there. I'm dying to know why she got fired! I contacted the Romance Team directly when I found out about Theresa, and i asked to speak to the manager and was told she was out of town. Conveniently however I received an email from her later that night saying that they were notifying the brides with upcoming weddings. That answer made me even more upset! I wrote back and said that that was very unprofessional and poor on their part that brides are finding out about this on wedding blogs and not directly from them. She then wrote back and said they don't have a planner yet to assign me to. So now I'm waiting! I refuse to get assigned to Lauren. I had her at the beginning, and I did not like her. This whole situation really sucks. Mayb if we all complain we can get Theresa back! (sorry I rambled but i need to vent!)

Hi deesanders33! I'm in shock right now! Theresa hadn't responded to my last email which I found weird, and I log on today and started to see everyone's posts! Can you please tell me who sent you the email notifying you about Theresa and who you got assigned to??? No one has contacted me which I found very unprofessional! I'm so sad right now

OMG! HOW EXCITING!!!!! I think the best advice I can think of is to enjoy EVERY SECOND!!! All these butterflies and feelings leading up to the big day (and the BIG day itself!) will be an amazing memory to hold with you forever! I'm SUPER frustrated.... and I need to vent! I gave my deposit to hold my date along with all the contracts on Sept 23rd, but have yet to receive my confirmation. I asked Theresa about it last week and she said it takes 3-4 business days but at this point it feels like FOREVER! Did it take this long for any of you to receive your confirmations????

Ok thanks!!! I guess I'll just see what I find once I'm there.....and I agree, it will be way cheaper than buying it here in Miami = )

Hi!!!! I've NEVER used a TA before, I've always booked everything on my own. But I've read from several threads that it takes a load off from the wedding planning process to use one. So I was wondering if anyone could please recommend a good TA. I'm located out of Miami but I'm open to them being located wherever as long as they're good. Do they get better rates for the rooms as well??? Do you have to pay anything upfront or they get paid when your guests contact them and they book their flight and room? Super confused!! Thank you!!!!

YEY! You ladies have total helped me! lol And it's true what you mentioned Sharon99, I always get stuff I NEVER use. I also like the idea of buying the rum there because it's less stuff I have to pack and take with me. I just have to now find out how much those mini bottles cost! Cheers!

Hi Ladies! I wanted to get some feedback on my favor idea..... Since I'll be getting married in Paradisus Punta Cana, I wanted to give something to my guests as a keep sake of not only our wedding but of DR. So I've been going back and forth on the idea of giving my guests a small bottle of one of the typical rums of DR either Barcelo or Brugal. I figure since my FI and I are getting to DR a few days before the wedding we can purchase them there. I'm guessing they'll be cheaper there as well. I'd bring personalized ribbon and a small thank you tag to put on each bottle. Is it cheesy to give away rum????? Looking forward to hearing your feedback! Thank you!!!

Hi Miss Sunshyne! Thanks so much for the advice! I actually reached out to Teresa. I sent her an email and received a response in less than 1/2 an hour. I was shocked as I wasn't use to that from Lauren. About 15 min's later Teresa tells me that her manager said since I started my process with Lauren, I had to continue it with her. I got very upset and spoke to the manager based out of Miami. After explaining how unimpressed and uncomfortable I felt with Lauren, the manager said I could continue working with Teresa which made me super happy. Teresa has been an angel! I absolutely love her!!!!!! I’m really happy I followed every ones advice : )
