  2. Hey Rose, Sorry I don't have pictures of the pools but yes you do have to pay extra for the chairs. It would be an additional $3.50 for the regular chairs with white covers. I wouldn't be surprise if they charge it twice since they would have to move them from ceremony to reception.
  3. Hi Rose and welcome!!! You can go ahead and book your photographer yourself. On the day of the wedding you will have to pay the vendor fee of $150 for all the vendors that come in. Let me know if you have any questions. By the way who did you pick!? Happy Planning! -Erica

  5. HEY JACKIE!!! YES! I noticed your day is very close to mine too!! I just came back from Now Larimar last month. I went to DR for my cousin's wedding in Dream La Romana and I took advantage while I was out there to do a site inspection at Now Larimar and met with my coordinator Francina and photographer Katya Nova! My wedding is going to be roughly around 100-115 guests. (My family is very big) My ceremony will be at the fountain area, cocktail hour at eclipse club, and my reception in the ballroom. I really wanted Castaways for my reception but refuse to pay the $5,000 fee to shut it down for a private event. Let know if you have any questions!!! Happy Planning!!! - Erica

I've decided I'm just going to with the spa at my resort. Indira's quotes came out to be a little over my budget and I would have to pay another vendor fee which I'm trying to avoid because I have enough already. I heard the spa do a great job and my bridal party is pretty big so I'm going to try and push for them to get us ready in my suite.

  10. Hi Paola!!! WOW you're pictures are beautiful! I may PM you a few times to ask you things on this planning journey. If you can please PM me you're email I would love that ! Francina seems very nice and is on top of things BUT she is PREGNANT!!!! She is due the end of July and my wedding is July 20. So I am a little uneasy that I'm plannning with her and she probably will not be the person with me that day. But I'm sure things will work out. I wanted to book Castaways for my reception but I refuse to pay the $5,000 fee. That's outrageous!
  11. HEY EVERYONE!!!! So I just got back from the Dominican Republic - I stayed at Dreams La Romana for my cousin's wedding and also went to NOW Larimar for my meeting and site inspection with Francina. I must say I can not be more excited for my wedding in July. Francina my coordinator is so sweet and I look forward to working with her. My wedding is going to be roughly 100-120 guests. I have chosen to do a religous ceremony at the fountain with Pastor Rick York at 4pm because a catholic ceremony would be be too late. The preist was offering me 6:30pm which would leave me no time for pictures. I have chosen the Divine Package with my reception in the Ballroom. I'm hiring Carribean Celebrations to decorate. My cocktail hour is booked in Eclipse but I think I just may change it to the Plaza area. I think it will decrease my spending on decorating if I do that. My photographer is ***** Nova!! Photography is sooooo important to me and I'm so excited I have her. ***** and her husband Robert are such awesome people. She and Rob came to my meeting with Francina to pick up the deposit and we got to chat for a little. I think I will be booking DJ Mannia for my wedding. They were at my cousin's wedding and they were pretty good! I think I have alot of the big stuff done and booked. But there's much more to do that I'm not even thinking of yet.   13. Hi Ladies!!! So this is my first thread!!! I just joined a few days ago and have been addicted to this site!!! There's so many great things to learn from on here. I just got engaged July 4th and me and my FI are planning to getting married July/2013 - Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Since I have almost 2 years to plan I've decided to look into things now and start on little stuff like my monogram! I will be sending STD's early next year and I want to have my monogram ready. I looked into Creative Montage as many brides have used them before on BDW. They do beautiful work but when I went onto their website I noticed they are not accepting any new custom orders (they seemed a little pricey anyway- starting price was $75.00). So I thought maybe I can do it myself? I looked at a few videos online to learn and on one video a girl spoke about www.elance.com! With this website you can post the job you want and professional contractors bid on it. I posted my job last night and have gotten 4 bids on it. (I have one person who already sent me a few great mock monograms! FOR FREE) He's willing to do the job for $45 (which is wayyyy better than Creative Montage). I thought this info was great to share.
