  1. My FI's cousin is out photographer. They are not charging the outside vendor fee since he is staying with us for the week so they waived that. I thought it was ridiculous if they were going to charge the $350. He is afterall a guest and they are charging his meal as the guest price!
  2. I would ask. My WC told me originally that we can only have one set menu, then she clarified that if I really wanted the choice to have 2 different entrees then we could.

  4. We had a wedding program that outlined the details of the events in a fun and informal way. We mentioned there that people just had to take their place cards and bring it with them to their seating of choice. They will read this program while they are waiting around at the ceremony location beforehand.
  5. well do your guests have an option for meals? That's why we did it because the resort wanted us to distinguish between those who are eating seafood, beef or are vegetarian. They asked for that along with the guest list.
  6. I am going to have one long table and then a sweetheart table for the both of us. Having been a bridesmaid many times, I always hated seating separately from my partner and leaving them to sit alone, sometimes with people they barely know. So to avoid that, I went for this option. That way, I don't have to worry about seating charts or anything like that. People can just pick a spot where they want to sit. I have a table with our favours and the placecards on it. When people arrive at the reception, they just get their favour with place card and place it where they want to sit. I like to be fuss free so this is perfect for me. I also didn't want separate round or square tables with groups of people sitting because I really want everyone to socialize and kind of get to know one another. I prefer the sweetheart table because it really is all about us right? And we would still be able to see everyone as the night goes in front of us at the long table. I feel like it's more intimate with the group and for us as well.
  7. @ncalvar and @KaitlynWawryko What day are you arriving at the resort? We get there on the 21st. Wanted to get an idea of how long you ladies will be there and when.
  8. @ncalvar Everything is all set. She is pretty good at getting back to me once Elsa introduced me to her. I haven't had much questions for her thus far though, but she let me know what time and when we will meet before the wedding. We are meeting the day before and she told me to bring everything related to the ceremony and reception to leave it with her and we will go over how everything is supposed to look like/ where it;s gonna go, etc. She seems really nice. I hope you hear from yours soon! Stalk away! I hope it turns out beautifully and all goes flawlessly! It's supposed to shower in the morning the day of our wedding. But our ceremony is at 4pm so we are good! Lets all party once we are done with our weddings. I'm glad I know more people from here that we can meet and can hang out with at night.
  9. Haha! Looking forward to it! We gotta party it up that week together!
  10. Hi BeachBumLesley, I am bringing down some wineglasses as a gift for my girls. I am quite nervous about it but I put my clothes all around them and some bubble wrap. Bubble wrap everything! And if you can, try and bring it on your carry on so you know they don't get thrown around like dolls!
  11. Hey deeaay... Sorry I can't help you there. I can't believe there are airlines that don't let you carry on your wedding dress! That's ridiculous! Can't they make an exception considering you are getting married? Or maybe even let you pay for the extra carry on item (being your dress)?
  12. Hey for those of you who paid their final payment, have you been in touch with your onsite WC? Elsa said she would send an email introducing us to each other but I haven't seen anything yet and it's about a week away before we leave. Not sure how the process works, but thought I'd ask if any of you had any experience thus far.
  13. Hey all, This question is more for those coming from the US.... I have some family and friends coming from the US and elsewhere that are asking about transfers and companies to transport them from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. Can anyone make recommendations for that? I have no idea since we get packages in Canada that take care of that. I have no clue and would like to help out folks with that bit. Your help is always appreciated!
  14. Hi Mariposa6102! Congrats to you! I think the Albatros terrace is different from the Villas terrace. If i'm not mistaken that's the one with the green floor??? We didn't want to do the beach just coz I would like to wear my high heels and not be bothered with sand in my feet. Also I hear it's pretty windy next to the ocean at night. I am not a fan of wind in my hair and hair in my face, so we did the villas terrace. Why don't you confirm with your Coordinator the reception venues. They can show you pictures of all the different areas on the resort where you can hold the ceremony and the reception. I have been to Mexico before and honestly, never felt unsafe. Everyone is very nice and you just have to be smart about things when you leave the resort. Just don't get stupid drunk and do stupid things to mess with locals and you'll be fine. It can happen anywhere, but as long as you are smart about things, you'll be fine.
  15. I just got the standard white package and that is the free package deal. I didn't actually pick any of that...Elsa just gave me the basic package which comes with the standard white napkins and table cloths. I can't see upgrading it to a colour....I am not picky about stuff like that.
  16. Thanks Ladies. Putting it in my garment bag along with my gown sounds like a good idea. I have shells in the bouquet too so I am worried about it getting squished in my actualy carry on...
  17. Hey ladies, Pretty much got shot down for this request. BEcause they are an environmentally conscious hotel, they do not want to do it. They are also concerned with it being a fire hazard. I understood. I wouldn't want to burn down anything either if it fell on the wrong side and not in the ocean.
  18. Hi Ladies, Need your help or ideas on how to pack my bouquet. I have 2 real touch bouquets (mid size to small) and I need to figure out the best way to pack them. I am thinking I should probably pack it in my carry on just in case the suitcase gets lost but I am already packing all the other necessary items I will need. If I pack it in my suitcase...where should I put it and how should I pack it so as to not get it squished???
  19. Hey ladies, So I finally put my final payment yesterday and everything is booked!!! Elsa was really great at breaking down everything with me over the phone (which is the BEST method of communication just so you know- she will cover all your bases!!). She made sure to confirm each and every single detail so that they don't overcharge or undercharge you. I also found out that my onsite coordinator is Flor. Has anyone heard anything about her??? I really hope she is easy going and nice. I can't wait to get married already!!! It's just 27 more days!!! eeeeeeeeeee! lol So we got the Firedancers for the reception where we walk from the Villas Terrace to the beach for the show, we only paid the outside vendor fee for the videographers and we even got our signature drink. Got 2 entree choices and because I have family that are Indian and strict vegetarian, I also got a separate 3 course Indian vegetarian meal to accomodate them. It took quite a bit of convincing and waiting around to get what I wanted, but I succeeded. All I had to do was call and Elsa was great about it. The email wasn't working for me so that is the secret with Elsa if any of you have to deal with her. Now...to find out how Flor is! Good ladies! Once you get to this point, you can feel some relief and think about how beautiful your wedding day will turn out!
  20. We got a signature drink at no cost. We are doing a Superman drink because me man loooooves Superman! It's just going to be blue, red and yellow
  21. We are doing 2 entrees and she didn't charge it to us for an extra cost. I am dealing with Elsa as well. We actually also got a strict vegetarian indian menu for some of my guests since my dad's family is from India I wanted to make sure I accomodated to their tastes. We got the beef and the shrimp options. But I think it has changed from when I looked at the menu....
  22. Yea she hasn't done a breakdown for me yet. I gave a call and she said she has to write up an invoice with the breakdown and send it to me. She didn't say anything about the payment being late. I guess they know it's on them since they didn't do the breakdown. I', not paying for anything blindly that's for sure!
  23. Ohhhh! See nobody ever told me that. I had to contact Elsa and she just gave me the form to fill out manually and I had to scan it back to her. I looked at it and the amount doesn't capture everything. I don't think so anyways. Is there a way to see the breakdown of the cost somewhere?
  24. Does anyone have the price checklist on them? I can't seem to find my saved copy or the one on the website
