  11. I am considering hiring alfonso de malaga for my wedding but I can't find any sample of his music online. Has anyone used him at their wedding? Do you mind sharing or PM how much you paid for his service? I am looking for live entertainment for my guest during my cocktail hour and suggestion and recommendation would be appreciated. Thank you ladies!
  12. Yeah Congrats!! I was so happy once I signed the contract I felt a big relief because I spent SO much time contacting wedding coordinators and reviewing tons of resorts. I look forward to hearing about your site visit. Happy planning! Sonia
  13. Hello Future Le Reve Brides, I have found so many ideas on this site from other brides. Someone posted information about Pinng I never heard of this website before so I went on there and I decided to email my save the date cards through them and save some money and time. I don't remember who originally posted about this website but I am so glad they did. So my STD are sent and I already have a few people RSVP on my wedding website. Yay! I am curious to know how many days are you ladies planning to arrive in playa prior to your wedding day? Since I did not do a site visit and I'm not planning I was thinking 3-4 days before but I'm not sure if it will be necessary or if i should save my vacation for after the wedding. Any thoughts? Happy planning!
  14. Hey there! I'm glad people are excited for you now that you have a date set. I am wondering if this will be case as well we will see. Yes I am planning to do out of town bags. I'm not sure what will be in them yet. I finally have all my addresses now I just need to purchase my STD. As far as vendors, I am going to give it a shot on booking them on my own and if it becomes too complicated I will just going to work directly with the hotel. @ Moraya I was also concerned about asking my guests to spend a lot of money/night. What you have to remember is they will likely make a vacation out of this + Le Reve is beautiful. They won't be disappointed. I struggled with this as well but I have done so much research and for that area and for the type of service you will get, I felt that Le Reve was reasonable for such a special occasion. Good luck! Sonia
  15. Hello everyone, I AM SO EXCITED!!! I was able to work a deal with Le Reve for my wedding in April. I literally feel so relieved because all the other resorts I've researched were too big, or didn't look quite like what I wanted for my intimate wedding and all I could think about was how much I wanted to have my wedding at Le Reve. I decided to pick up the phone and talk directly with Arlenis and it was the best decision I made because sometimes going back and forth with emails although convenient they can be some misunderstanding especially in my case. She was awesome and very understanding of my situation (wedding size) especially because I REALLY wanted to have my wedding there. I gave her my first name and she knew immediately who she was talking to and even said my FI name. I wasn't expecting that since she must KIT with so many brides. We were able to work it out. I am so GLAD you have no idea. I feel so relieved! Finding a resort that works for you is crucial. The best part about working with Le Reve is that when you contact them, they respond to your questions in a timely manner and it is very reassuring. I can hardly wait to share my wedding planning process with you all. Next step: finding the right STD! Happy planning beautiful brides! Sonia~
  16. Congratulations! How many people do you have in your wedding? I purchased my dress at Nordstrom a couple of months ago but I'm like going to keep looking since Nordstrom has a great return policy. Still don't have my STD nor do I have mailing addresses lol I hope to get them out within the next couple of weeks. Are you planning to bring your own vendor or will use Le Reve for everything? I contacted Alfonso for music I got his name on this site to give me a quote for guitarist or mariachi band and I'm waiting to hear from me.
  17. Hello 2012 brides at Le Reve! I am so excited I am going to have my wedding at Le Reve after all. It was always my first choice but we couldn't agree on the contract because of my small size wedding and then we came to a nice agreement and I will be signing the contract today. I reviewed so many resorts that I became so confused but I always kept Le Reve in the back of my mind.n I have never been to Le Reve or Mexico but I read so many good reviews about it that I do not plan to do a site visit. My wedding is scheduled in April and I can hardly wait. Please post here if you are having your wedding at Le Reve and let the count down begin. Happy planning chicas!!
  18. I just started looking at beach clubs because I have a small wedding party 35-40 people so I too would love to hear from people who have visited or have had their wedding there. Thank you!
  19. Hello, I don't have a wedding planner and I am wondering if it is expensive to have a planner? Does anyone mind telling me how much it cost for a planner? I am having approximately 35 people for my wedding next year. I have been researching venues for ever it seems like and I think doing it at a beach club might be a better plan for me since I won't all the restrictions that come with booking with some hotel properties. I am wondering you had to spend a lot of money on decoration? Would you please some pictures of the rooftop? Does the club closes for private event I am assuming yes but you just never know. Thank you!
  20. Thank you so much for all this information! As I much as I like the Reve, I only have 35-40 people in my party and they wanted me to guarantee 20 rooms in order for me to have my party there, which I can't do because some people might be interested in booking at a cheaper property. I could only guarantee 10 rooms, which is half of my party since most are couple but it didn't work out. I was a little confused because on her original email she mentioned that as long as half of my party stayed with them so I was excited and then they changed it to 20 rooms. It is beautiful and it was my first choice. I am sure I'll find a place that I could celebrate my special day I am so excited for you! My ideal wedding day is the week before yours. Happy planning!! Sonia
  21. Hello, I am so thankful for this website. I got engaged a couple of months ago and decided that Mexico would be awesome for our wedding. I am planning on getting married, May 12, 2012. My dates are flexible but it will be the same weekend as our anniversary day so it will be easier to celebrate each year . I am feeling kinda anxious because I have been looking for many hours and days for the perfect location for our day but I haven't been able to make a decision because surprisingly lots of resort are adults only but my question is can kids at least come to the reception and not the ceremony? I am planning to have no more than 40 people and i'm hoping to find a small resort that is not on the lower end but not pricy either. We are in our early 30s and we love to have fun. Here are my top choices in random order: Le Reve (but they are too restrictive for me) La Zebra Dreams Resort, Tulum Mahekal The Tides Riviera May Are there any recent brides from any of these properties? I won't be able to do a site visit, so I am relying on reviews and this amazing website. Thanks you so much for your help! I feel like once I have a venue book everything else will be easier (I hope)! Happy planning and congrats to you allk!
  22. Hello, I am curious to know if you were able to get some information from Mahekal? I am feeling overwhelmed. I am planning to have about 40 people attend my wedding. I have been in touch with Las Palapas, Petit Lafit Le Reve but it is out of the question now there are too expensive and wouldn't accommodate my request. Please let me know how your planning is going this far. Cheers! Sonia
  23. Hello, Thank you so much for the information. I am feeling a little bummed out because Le Reve wasn't able to accommodate my request. They informed me that 50% of my wedding party must book with them in order for my wedding to take place there. Mind you I am estimating about 40 guests so I told them that i could guarantee 10 rooms (1 room per couple), equalling 20 people, which is half of my wedding party and they told me it must 20 rooms. How in the world could I book 20 rooms if I have 40 guests and all of them are couple? I am a little frustrated and back to doing research on resorts and I am sure they are other places that I will be able to have my dream wedding. I received a draft contract from Petit Lafitte, put I am still trying to see if there are other resorts in the area that are midrange when it comes to cost and that are not mega resorts. I have also contacted Ceiba Del Mar, Las Palapas and La Zebra. As far as photography, I am thinking about using Frabrizio from Fine Art Studio, their cheapest package is $1600 if you have found a better deal with amazing photograph please let me know. I really like his journalist approach to photography. http://www.fineartstudiomexico.com Thank you all for your post, it is so helpful to hear from other brides. Happy planning!
