  1. Past brides! I was reading on here somewhere that it's really windy under the gazebo's and that a loose up-do isn't good because of the wind. Did you find this to be a problem. I would like to wear my hair up but don't want it falling down during my ceremony. Did any of you have a problem with the wind? Any advice would be great. Thanks!!
  2. Let me know how Edith does. I was told that she's going to be my on-site WC as well. Still waiting to hear from my Miami WC. From past post on here, I think Edith is really good. Good luck to you:) Quote: Originally Posted by J-me I just got assigned my onsite coordinator - Edith!! I'm so excited and can't believe it's just around the corner - 38 days eeeek!!!!!!!!!
  3. I just received an updated contact for Aventura Spa/Cove for those of you that want to book your spa/salon service in advance for you and your guests. Martha Ponce: e-mail [email protected] Happy Pampering!

  5. Just read your response after I responded. Sorry! If that's the case, I agree with you! I think I would be pissing a fit by now and asking to speak to her boss. Good luck!
  6. I was just thinking the same thing! We had to sign a wedding package form and put half down and then we also signed a group contract and had to pay for the bride and grooms room in full. I would definitely call Yesenia and confirm.
  7. I was told Maggie is new so she's in the horrible learning curve time!
  8. You can book the spa/salon apts ahead of time, but they won't let you book the tours ahead of time. Yesenia stated it's because of the weather conditions and the tours are non-refundable. No worries, I e-mailed you the spa/salon info!
  9. Our wedding is May 3rd and I was told by Yesenia that Maggie my Miami office WC would be contacting me in March. But she was able to tell me that my on-site WC will be Edith. She stated that there are two on-site WC's. Have any of the past brides worked with Edith?
  10. Jess, Did you tip the officiant? Just wandering if it's necessary to tip the officiant and the on-site wedding coordinator. I'm thinking we should tip the WC but not so sure about the officiant.
  11. Just an FYI for future brides. I have been informed by Palace that the Colin Cowie wedding packages will not be available for April and may not be available for May brides either as they're not ready. It doesn't effect us because I didn't plan on changing from the Emerald package that we purchased. If anyone needs the original packages that they offered message me with your e-mail. The only ones they're advertising now are the Colin Cowie packages.
  12. Sarah I wouldn't worry about it too much! After my conversation with Palace yesterday, I'm pleased with our choice of resorts. I wish Palace had the opportunity to respond to the review that was posted. If they could it would clear some things up for you and alleviate your concerns. I'll post a review when we return. I'm sure all will go well for all of us:)
  13. Hi All, I called and spoke with Yesenia from Palace resorts yesterday to inform her of the review posted. I had some questions for her after reading it. One of things that concerned me was that Noelle stated that the resort is now a Hard Rock and we couldn't have access to the other resorts. Yesenia assured me that this is not the case. The resort is not going to be a Hard Rock until August and for now all guests have access to the other resorts. We discussed several other things as well and after speaking with her I'm confident with our decision to have our wedding at ASP. I'm sorry to hear that some of the future brides aren't getting a response from Palace. This hasn't been my experience at all. I always receive an immediate response from Yesenia. I promise that soon as we return from our trip that I will leave a review!
  14. Wow, your review just gives me the warm fuzzies about my upcoming wedding! I certainly hope you just had a bad experience and it doesn't reflect on the quality of the resort as a whole. I wish I hadn't read your review to be honest with you since we have so much invested in our wedding and have been looking forward to the event. At this point it's a little too late to cancel. I'm just going to pretend that I didn't read it and hope for a wonderful stay and wedding day

  16. My package came with chair sashes, but I did purchase table runners from ebay. I'll post the link below. From what I hear it's quite expensive to have Palace provide them. http://stores.ebay.com/Mysterious-Oriental/50-Pieces-Sashes-/_i.html?_fsub=2861302010&_sc=1&_sid=991079210&_sop=2&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322
  17. It was after seeing your photos that I chose the ceremony location. I was going to do the Coba. But I just loved your pics! Thanks sooooo much for the runner tip. That wouldn't have made me happy and now I'll be sure to have someone run over and check on it. One more thing to add to the wedding planner I read about the set-up fee somewhere for decorations but I don't remember where. I thought that the price was higher. Oh well what can you do. If they charge then I won't feel so bad when I show up with drawings on exactly how I want it to be set up! All in all, it's still cheaper for us to bring our own than to buy everything from them. You don't happen to recall approximately how many feet apart the post are on the Pandero do you. I want to tie fabric streamers from them. I'll bring the string and the cut up pieces of fabric with me but won't put it together until we get down there and I can measure the exact distance. I thought if I had a rough idea, I'll have an idea how much fabric to have with me. Thanks again for all of your help!
  18. Jkg- So jealous of you! I was hoping to get a much larger attendance that we have. So far we only have 11 people that are coming. And so many that haven't even responded. But it will definitely be a more intimate affair which will have it's advantages! I haven't been assigned a WC yet, but I'm anxiously awaiting to hear from one. We googled a site map of the resort to get an idea of the different locations and how far each was from one another. I didn't see the Spa Terrace listed on the e-mail they sent me with locations for events. Right now, (but with me this could change) we're planning on having the ceremony at the Chichen Gazebo (I love the wooden bridge), Cocktail party at the Pandero and dinner at the Mundaca Steak House under the covered patio. I chose the Pandero for the cocktail party because I have paper lanterns and fabric streamers that I want to hang and I think that's the only place that you can do that. If you find out differently please let me know. I look forward to getting to know you better over the next few months and get wait to meet up at the resort! We'll have to swap photos before we leave.
  19. Welcome! It's so nice to have another Spa Palace bride! We'll definitely have to get together there:) I'm arriving on April 28th and leaving on May 7th! We're having our wedding on Thursday. Thanks with the help from the past Spa Palace brides on here I've pretty much have my locations picked out for our events! I would love for you to share any of your ideas and experiences. I find it's all so helpful. My name is Tammy. Chase is my son's name and for whatever reason I always use it as my screen name:)
  20. Our cake topper and we'll have fresh flowers on the cake as well. I think it's apparent that our theme is a Mexican fiesta!
  21. Would anyone happen to know approximately, how many feet are between the post at the pandero? I want to make fabric streamers to hang between them and I have a feeling it's going to be a hard question to get answered by the WC on site. thanks
  22. Jess, I just read your interview! Nice job. You've been such a help. I just love, love, love your diy invitations
  23. I recommend starting several packages back on this thread. There have been a couple brides who have posted pics for me and they've been GREAT! And have answered a lot of my questions. I feel so much better after chatting with them.
  24. Message me your e-mail and I'll send you a couple that I have that they sent to me when we first inquired about the resort! They also send info regarding all the private function spaces I can send you.
  25. When are you leaving the resort? We're arriving on April 28th! I would love to meet up with you there for a cocktail and maybe you could give me the heads up on anything you'd feel valuable. I wish you all the luck on your wedding!
