  1. My travel agent suggested Azul Sensatori for us. A top priority is the beach and the color of the ocean since it makes for gorgeous pictures. She sent me a ton of info, pictures and video of the resort I can forward you if you'd like. It was ruled out for us because it was not 100% handicap friendly and my fiances twin is in a wheelchair. I was also told to stay away for Dreams for weddings so didn't look into them. Good luck it's tough decision for sure!

Want better beaches? Neither of them! Dreams Cancun/Tulum or Playacar Palace are over those, a way better!

Did anyone use an outside vendor for photography and/or video? I know TBH charges a $500 outside vendor fee, but that doesn't include meals, and the photographer I am considering requests that we feed his crew (there are 3 in his crew). Someone suggested paying for a room instead of paying the $500 vendor fee, but since there are 3 crew members, paying for a room will be more expensive. Does anyone know if there are any other options to grant access to outside vendors and feed them? (I will probably hire an outside videographer too.)

I'm bring my 2 photographers from the US so we paid for their rooms and avoided the $500 vendor fee. However, I think even if you have them stay at the resort you still have to pay for their meals at the wedding (which is pretty typical since photographers spend most of the day with you). But you should look into how much a triple room is for 1 night. I think for me, it would've been less than $500! Save where you can!

You better make sure about hotel policy, also there is a law that's been pushing hotels, be careful if you bring foreign people to work in Mexico, if you get caught, there is an expensive fine for you and the photographer and they also may lose their equipment, happy planning!

  7. I though this may help some brides to decide about the photographer:

1.- Make sure you match your vision about your photos against the photographer vision

2.- the photographer style is part of the vision, makes sure you like the vision, vision is what he shows in his site, look at every single picture detail

3.- Usually all pictures in any website will look great, at least in sharpness, make sure the photographer is able to capture the environment as It was, and for me the most important, that it has a real moment and then It will be a time worthy picture

4.- After you have check at least 10 photographer wedding posts, then you can be sure you understood his vision and like the vision as well

5.- Go for price, can afford? good go next step

6.- Talk to the photographer and make sure you both click, for me having a strong relation It is important to truly capture real moments, worthy moments, pictures that will last, worth and be appreciated for ever

7.-Review all terms and conditions, this is just formalism but not less important

8.- Hire the photographer because many of them get hire really quick, like me

9.- Make sure you sign a contract, expectatives must be clear for both sides

Any question, pelase let me know, I will be so glad to help any bride around there

I am a passionated photographer that If I could, I would not charge a cent!

  8. Does anyone have recommendations on DJs? Not sure what my options are under the approved Lomas list. Did you have options? I definitely want someone who will help get the party started, I also would like to give a list of certain songs we would definitely like played.

    Any pointers?

I have shot more than 300 wedding in this area, I have seen so many receptions and for sure I can tell you that a good DJ turn out the reception to the highest level, If I were you I would go for

    Doremixx and Disco Movil Cancun

  9. Hello ladies,

Well, we got our date set for our wedding next year, but now we need to choose a photographer. Most of the photographers I see that are partnered with Lomas kinda suck :(  I really like Sarani but she is also very expensive...

Fellow Azul and El Dorado brides, who did you choose for photography? Did you go with an approved vendor, or bite the bullet and pay an outside vendor fee?

    Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, Karisma has a contract with Lomas travel, this means that the photography service was bid and won by a third party, so there is no approved photographer for these resort, just the company than won the bid. But also Karisma, Lomas travel and the third pary can block an outside photographer for many reasons, if we are not blocked then we are approve but you will have to pay the outside vendor fee anyway, I AM NOT BLOCKED and I AM APPROVED . hope you find this post helpful

  10. I think wedding price depends on experience, quality is something intangible in may ways, since you brides only see low resolutions files over the internet, even an out of focus shoot will look sharp in low resolution, we consider our photography honest and true, what are you looking for? we offer just real moments in our journalistic work

Check lout latest work in out site, we also have our favourites (Creative portraits)selection and plenty of weddings to look at :)

    Good luck on planning!
