  1. Hey Jersey Bride! Welcome to the forum! A wedding coordinator is a great way to start! Like Yazmin mentioned, it is super important that you click with whoever you are working with! Skype is the easiest way to communicate and get a proper feel for the person in terms of personality, professionalism, and style. Experience is KEY, so make sure you choose someone that has been in the area some time and knows the ins and outs of doing business here. Make sure they have a professional website with lots of current examples of their work and current testimonials. If you have a chance to come down here and meet them in person, even better! They can also help you set up some site visits to narrow down your location choices. Happy Planning! Sofia Lori's Office Assistant

  3. Hey Ladies! Tulum is a beautiful place to have exactly the type of wedding you are looking for! The small boutique hotels each offer a slightly different feel and decor. I personally love the entrance to the Ana y Jose hotel! I actually took my parents there on their last visit JUST to hang out on the beach and have lunch! Another great little gem is Cabanas La Luna. A little more arabian-nights themed and very colorful! Check out Lori's latest wedding in that area: Cabanas La Luna, Tulum - Missy & Tom Happy Planning! Sofia Lori's Office Assistant
  4. Off-resort weddings can be intimate and uber-romantic! 6. Thanks for the compliments! I will pass them on to Lori! As for Cinco de Mayo, it is a holiday that is mostly celebrated in the US and only regionally here in Mexico (pretty much only in the state of Puebla where the battle took place). You can check out WIKI - Cinco de Mayo for a little more history. The largest celebration would be on the 16th of September which is the Mexican independence day. There are big celebrations in town and a very large fair set up downtown. Happy Planning! Sofia Lori's Office Assistant
