Hi Romana uk 2012!!! )xx I am glad you find this forum helpful and for me personally it gave me so many awesome ideas which by myself I would have never though of, so thank you ladies to all of you again :Dxx Blue and white theme sound fantastic, we have similar but turquoise and white theme Oh my goodness you got your dress already, do you have any pictures of your and bridesmaids dresses maybe, - I love seeing what other brides have picked! lol ) About the package I had the same dilemma, I was leaning towards the ultimate package, however than I find out that only 14 of us are coming so after calculations it made more sense to use Dreams Free package and just add extras on the top of it ) I have been told by resort that basic linen and chair covers and chair ties are provided, however I am not too sure what colors are available - as it was quite a while when I spoke with Yanna about it...this is something I need to find out myself now I will be emailing her tonight after I will speak to my FI regarding out wedding cake So i will post here if I will get response about linens etc. first Or maybe one of you ladies might know the answer of what color linen and chair covers included ? We are having ceremony in garden gazebo as well! followed by cocktail hour on the pier and reception on the beach (sooo can't wait lol ) We are getting resorts DJ and would like to have bonfire as well at the end of the night, but not quite sure do they still provide this service, cos I did not see any bonfire prices in Yanna's recent extras list she sent me...will have to ask her about it in tonight's email too and will let you ladies know, in case one of you is planning to have it too. As there will be only 14 of us, I am not that worried about entertainment, cos we are pretty crazy bunch, i am sure we will be fine lol For our travel part of the trip we used Caribbean Warehouse, cos they seemed to have the most reasonable prices at that time, and originally were going to fly with Thomas Cook. however sometime in April, we got a phone call from Caribbean Warehouse, saying that suddenly they got report that Thomas Cook decided not to fly to DR during winter months (which is when we are flying, February)...so we have been offered to fly with Thomson instead which were about £200pp more expensive - but its just one of those things i guess..it was stressful of course at the time, but we made it through ) Who did you book with and who are you flying with btw? ) Regarding dress transportation...there is no way on earth I will let my dress go in the hold luggage LOL So after readying thread on here with UK brides, I decided to invest into Travel Dress Box from here: http://www.emptybox.co.uk/products/wedding-dress-boxes/ I have not got it yet, it takes time for them to make it, but they rang me and doubled checked about how exactly I want for my box to look, which was nice and you can also personalize it with your names and the date of your wedding, which is really cool They make the box by approximate measurements of the airlines hold luggage (if you will do this, just need to double check what the measurements on airline website just to be on the safe side ) I will post a picture on here as soon as I will get it!!! should be this or next week for sure ) I am still worried that my dress won't fit there, but same brides on UK BDW here have advised from experience that everything fits, you just need to obviously fold your dress few times lol ) so fingers crossed... I have accumulated tones of pictures and pdf's from Yanna over this year, just message me in private what info or pictures you would like and I will send them over to you no problem at all hon P.S. tomorrow is exactly year since me and my FI got engaged and exactly 5 years since we met too not sure are ppl actually celebrate their engagement anniversaries lol, but we will lol have some romantic dinner planned already, really can't wait ...and at the same time can't believe a year has passed since, times flies by so quickly ) xoxo

@gems2wed2012 wow, my mum and sister live around there too lol I completely understand how you feel right now, like every bride on here as well, - when we started planning our wedding and decided on Dreams resort, I had trouble sleeping at night, with tones of things going through my head of what we need to do etc. lol Than I decided to do major things first (i.e. find a dress, sort out other guests travel, decide on the theme etc.), all of these things kind of eased my brain a little from information overload and I actually started to see that little things don't matter that much - it will still be an amazing day for us and our guests Well hope this helps, but if you feel like venting about something or you need some advise, always message here and i am sure all of us will try to help or at least just listen ) xoxo

Welcome Vancouver Bride )xxx Hope you will enjoy this forum and will get answers to all of your questions too ) I have not been unfortunately to the resort myself, so won't be able to advise you too much on it...but we have chosen to stay in Preferred Club, it does seems that if you wish for some alone time you will be able to stay at preferred pool and beach, but at the same time if you would like to hang out with the rest of the guests at the main pool or beach it is no problem too ) We decided to go for Preferred club, mainly because of this and the fact that you get free wi-fi in your room and around the resort and also some premium booze lol Have you done much planning already though, how many people you expect to come for your big day? ) Oh and have you looked/chosen your dress already? I love seeing other girls dresses , it puts me in such a weddingly mood lol (if there is such a word at all ) xoxo

@jess819 and @gems2wed2012 Welcome ladies to this thread, hope you enjoy it loads ))xxxx Share all you can with us about your planning your wedding days, we all love to hear new ideas and see pictures too if you have any ;D @gems2wed2012, I am from UK and to be honest, because of the prices they charge to sort out all the paperwork, me and my FI decided to have legal ceremony here in the UK about 2 weeks before we go to DLR and have our REAL wedding with all the guests etc in DLR ) As I mentioned earlier, I know it is not for everyone, but personally for us we thought we could spend this £1200 smwh else I heard other ladies saying if you shop around you might find companies who charge slightly less than £1200 but so far least I seen was £1000.. Hope you and your FI will be able to find best solution ) Let us know how you get on! P.S. where about in UK u r from? ) xoxo

I am one of these people where I was to decide on what I am having and I was to hear how much exactly it will cost - not hearing about some extra charges for ivory linens a week before our wedding... I mean when, I have asked Yanna numerous time to give me a quote for how much everything will cost (excluding flowers), all she does she usually sends me Extras list in return lol Don't get me wrong, I can only imagine how busy they get at the resort, especially when they have numerous weddings in one day, but sometimes it seems the forget to mention certain things... That's why I am super happy that I have found this forum and all of you girls )) This way we can share the info we get from WC's and try to plan our big days )xx xoxo

Hi SOCCER1615 )xx I am with you on this one, I am having slight nightmares too about the flowers...resort prices are quite high and I would love to hear from more brides that maybe used or are using outside vendors! Like anything with wedding planning, it seems cheap, but than you add it all together and you come up with a quite substantial sum... But I loved, like I mentioned above, Chanelos idea to replace some flowers with alternatives, like umbrellas or corsages instead of baguettes ) Let us know brides, what are your plans for flowers and decorations for your big day ) xoxo

Hi Jessica hun )xx Hope you are well ) We are having a very intimate wedding, only 14 of us all together, but they are definitely coming It is one of those things with guests, when you tell everyone you will be having destination wedding, everyone is over the moon and definitely coming lol, but than later on some people realize they wont be able to come... But as long as the most important people are there for both bride and groom, that is all that matters ) When we will get back from DR, I will definitely post a full blown review and tones of pictures, for all of you brides to see )) and put your mind at ease that everything is going to be perfect on your special day )x Oh, do you have a picture of your dress??? ) Please do share it with us if you do, would love to see it! I personally tend to count to the day we leave for Dominican lol, cos its closer and this is when our wedding-moon begins Things have been good lately, which i am very pleased about Now as we have confirmed more or less exact amount of guests, I can start officially preparing our welcome bags AT LAST and I submitted my last assignment in Uni so have a break until February and can do as much wedding planning as I like )) oh and also have been for hair trail here in the UK, so now i know more or less what hair I would like for our wedding yay But now to be honest I just can't wait until Xmas, because you know chanelo as soon as we get to Xmas and New Years our wedding days are going to come soooo quickly!!! )) xoxo
