  1. Am I the only beach bride who hates the idea of wearing flip flops with a gorgeous dress? I'm not a fan of barefoot either - I like the look you get from high heels, so I'm wearing wedges (3.5 inches). What's everyone else wearing? (I should say, we're having a runner put down the aisle so the sand sinkage is less)
  2. I second the J. Crew suggestion. Also, I got a chocolate coloured bridesmaid dress for a friend's wedding from BCBG. It was on sale for about $100.
  3. I've been thinking about this too... my dress is HEAVY, but I fell in love with it so I don't care. Luckily it's got a good corset top to it, I'll probably get cups sewn in, and I'm just on the fence about spanx. Probably I'll do without. My future MIL told me I would "pass out in my dress it's so hot down there". Nice. She just wasn't crazy about Mexico. She's past it now, but I can't help wondering if she had a point. Hope that won't happen! Related question: how do you stop from sweating too much??
  4. Amandalsu - could you give the contact info for "the Dazzling Details" (what is that?) I'm looking for fire dancers for the night before my wedding and having NO LUCk. Thanks!
  5. Thanks for all the info. I'm planning my wedding just north of PV and the hotel is killing me with the cost of centerpieces (like $70 each... and we're looking at 8-10 tables). So I'm interested in how you managed your flowers yourself... Was that totally stressful? How far in advance did you do them (day before, couple of days)? Where did you keep them? Did you buy vases? Sorry for all the questions!
  6. Hi Starchild - thanks for the tip... I'll definitely contact Vallarta Adventures. We're getting married in San Francisco - about 45 min north of PV (very small town, 10 min N of Sayulita). I just realized I should have posted this under "Puerto Vallarta and surrounding"
  7. I would say definitely go for yellow or orange. It will bring out the blue and go really well with your neutral tones... plus, those are the colour flowers I'm going for. Guess I'm biased.
  8. I'm trying to find some fire dancers to perform on the beach the night BEFORE our wedding as a surprise for our guests... But I can't for the life of me find a company. I know they're out there because I've seen videos. I contacted the video production company but they didn't get back to me (after all, it's not their business, I guess). Anyone know how I can find some fire dancers? Thanks!!
  9. Hi! It looks like I'm one of many who chose Mexico for my wedding... We're heading to Riviera Nayarit (San Pancho) for our wedding Nov 6th. I'm looking forward to getting some useful advice here and seeing what others are up to. -Melissa
