  1. I can try and put my playlists together.  They are all in my ipod as a list but not written anywhere.  :(

I had some cool music for the ceremony.  The music while the guests were being seated was rock music but performed by string musicians.  The bridesmaids walked down to Bittersweet symphony.  I walked down to Can't help falling in love by Ingrid Michaelson.  We had Endless Love for our Sand Ceremony, Michael Buble's Crazy Love for the Signing of the documents, and then our recessional was Smile which I cut straight to the chorus.

Oh, and another tip, be sure you label the songs above as what they are for in your ipod.  I had forgotten to do that, and so I had to write a list right before the wedding.

Can anyone send me their list of music for their reception and also while people are being seated at the ceremony. I think Lomas has a list on their website. I have our ceremony music picked out. I think I am going to walk down the aisle to Bittersweet symphony string version but have been second guessing that. Any suggestions/comments? I am also having trouble finding music while we are eating and prior to the ceremony.

Justine, I only have white and turquoise lanterns, and turquoise sashes/runners.  Don't think that will help you much but if there's anything I do figure out that might help ya, I'll let you know.  :)

  2. Wow Tris, those pics are amazing!!  I hope I get mine back soon, b/c I'm starting to overanalyze and think that I may have jumped the gun.  I didn't get any bridal pics of me (or any of me by myself at all), and I didn't get but like one prof pic of my daughter and I.  :(  I regret this now.

  3. Yay for this!!  That's always fabulous news!!

My TA just got us $190 per person off our guests total price!!!  I explained to her how a bunch of our guests were checking websites here and there, and that the price for our week had dropped, and she was able to bring it down....that is almost $400 a couple they will be saving!

They just better be booking with us now and not be trying to go on their own.  As so many of you have mentioned, I get the reasons behind it (incase the group needs to move etc.), its just convincing them!

Out with the bad, in with the good!!!  ;)

I don't know if it was you or someone else who asked about 3 nights.  We had guests stay anywhere from 3 nights to 7 nights.  I think it's all in the deals that the TA sets up.  :)

  4. Wow, amazing pics girls!!  I'm envious that you have your pro pics or are getting them soon.  I have to wait 3 more weeks!!  :(  But I'm sure they will be fab.  Beautiful, beautiful ladies on this April thread!!

  5. What I would do again:

*Join this forum - what a great help it has been!

*Have a Destination Wedding - Best time of my life!!

*Splurge on a sky massage - that was amazing

*Plan an excursion (depending on your group) - we planned a group catamaran excursion to Isla Mujeres and it was the most fun day of the trip.

*Tropical colors for the wedding.  The pictures are so vibrant!

*Use Mixbook for our guestbook.  It turned out great.

*Splurge on a great photographer.  I haven't seen any pics yet but I'm positive they are going to be magical!

*TTD session - so much fun

    What I would do differently:

*OOT bags - While a nice gesture, they caused excess baggage and only a few of the items were really utilized. We could have gotten away with something smaller I think, like a welcome card with the tip/card holder, share site and some type of Mexican snack.  ??

*would not have extended the trip to include the honeymoon.  We did 10 days and we were done by day 6.  I would plan a week long trip tops, and then maybe a few months later plan a separate trip for a "honeymoon"

*Not Plan so much.  I analyzed everything, and in the end some things I spent hours planning didn't even happen or go the way I planned.  So, that was a little frustrating.

*Fix my hair before professional pics. :(  Our beach wedding was very windy and I have a feeling I may be dissappointed with some of our pics because my hair was being all crazy!

*I should have pushed more with the wedding coordinator on some things I know other brides had received.  I received less and paid more.  :(  That made me sad.

  6. Honestly, I'm not sure what happened with the ipod. I had it set up in playlists, ceremony music, dinner music and reception. Basically all they needed to do was press play and let it roll.  I don't know if it was my guests bugging the guy, or my guests trying to pick songs or what, but basically random music played (I heard at least two songs I didn't pick), I missed out on one slow song that I really liked (I had only picked three slow songs to play throughout the night), and one of the slow songs played three different times!!  I thought our guests were really dancing to the music I chose and when it got all mixed it up, it through the entire night off.  :(

Just make sure you tell the person controlling the ipod to keep the playlist in the order you have, don't let anyone make changes!

As for the tipping, we ended up tipping basically $300 to the wedding coordinator for set up and tip, $160 at the reception for the waiters and such, and more.  I tipped my hair / make up stylist $40.  Oh, and at the salon if you have the GIVC incentive (free hair/make up) you still pay the 10% service charge out of pocket.  We tipped the masseuses and we tipped Lomas travel.  Edy and Felipe were awesome though.

  7. Becky, your DJ sounded awesome.  Listening to him, I wished I had splurged for the DJ!  Glad your wedding turned out great.  Sounds like you and your guests all had a fabulous time!

Yay, congratulations!!  That's so exciting!  My hubby and I are hoping to start right away as well :)

I have been sooo MIA but I wanted to check in on all of the May brides. I know there are plenty of you. Maggie, I am so jealous! I want to go back to Mexico so badly and I know you're on your way. I know you'll have a blast. I'm upset that I've missed so many of your weddings. Congrats to Murmel, Lessismore and Tisha. I was able to skim the almost 200 pages I missed and see your pics. Good job ladies!! I hope I didn't miss anyone else.

For those of you that are friends with me on Facebook, you know I am preggers. I am 5 months pregnant and found out this week we're having a girl!!! I said all of that because I have been looking into joining another forum and getting info from people in my same situation BUT I have to say that none compare to this one. I know I've said it before and I'll say it again, there's no place like BDW. The support and info I got here was priceless and I wish I could find that in a forum for expectant mothers but no such luck.

Anyway, happy planning to you all and although I'm not on as much if anyone needs anything, my email is [email protected].

  8. Hey girls, I know you are anxious for some pics, so I will paste them in as I get to them.  I have a shutterfly account set up where there's tons of pics, but mostly of our friends and family.  As I sort through the thousands, i will add ones of the resort that you all may want to see.  For now, here are a few of me, me and my daughter, us at the ceremony, and then me and my now hubby!!  :)

  9. Hey girls, Im still in Mexico but wanted to drop in and say hi!  Our wedding was beautiful.  A full review will be written some time on Friday.  We do have a website up but it doesnt have the best pics up yet.  Maybe on Sunday more people will have posted, and I will share the link.  I will say the beach ceremony was very windy though which made it difficult for good pics and what not, but overall the day was great, and the vacation is one to be cherished forever!  Happy wedding day to Marcella, and then to Jaime tomorrow!  I got the chance to meet Jaime.  She has been such a great help during this planning!!  What a sweetheart!!  TTYS girls!

  10. Yay, so glad to see the April thread alive again. Great pics from all you married women! :) I am actually at the nail salon now, and then heading to my hair appointment. We leave tomorrow morn for Mexico! Can't wait! Glad all the girls on this thread have had wonderful weddings. You are all so sweet!
