  1. - Consider whether it's really that important to have a private reception. I've been to two DWs now where the reception dinner was in a semi-private area of one of the a la cartes, and one was not private (they just set us up in the a la carte). I thought it was great - you are still sharing your reception with your guests, and if other random people from the resort stop and say congrats, then great! It's not for everyone but I think that's the way I will go to save $$ on the whole private dinner thing. The reception dance/party was on the beach and was not private either - and it was lots of fun!

    Alundy,

So, when there was a dinner only reception, there were dancing options? That would be awesome.

  2. Hi ladies,

I have just landed my sites on Moon Palace for a late April/early May wedding date. I am still trying to plan out everything before I book, but I'm very excited about this location. Have any of the already married girls gotten married on the beach? Most reviews I see were in the gazebo.

Also, what are the different names, Nizuc I think I saw? I'm assuming different sections of the resort?

Well, I am looking forward to learning a lot from you girls!!! :o)

  3. Oh, a few more questions! I'm full of 'em. :o)

The banquet kit listing I have doesn't say the cost for additional chairs for the ceremony. Does anyone know the cost?

Also, does anyone know the cost for the sound system alone? Lighting costs?

    Thanks ladies!

Oh, and my name is Tisha ~ Looking into AS for a late April/early May '11 wedding!!

looking forward to getting to know all of you!

  4. Hi ladies,

For those of you who did the included dinner, did you get to do any dancing? Having the mother/son and father/daughter dance are important to me, and that's about it as far as the typical reception goes. I do want to wear my dress as long as possible though.

What did everyone do after their dinner? Is there a club to go to? I guess you would change?

Thanks girls! Looking forward to becoming an official AS bride!

We didn't have any trouble with being able to see our meal, etc. I thought it was perfect. Here is a pic for you to see, it's not totally dark yet, but you can still get an idea of the set up:

    Katken,

Thanks for posting this picture. It looks exactly like what I am interested in doing. Do you have more pics you could share? Also, how did the private reception work? Did you pick a menu and pay the per person, and then pay for lighting, dj, etc. What extra fees were there? Was it pricey?

I am trying to determine overall pricing (at least a guestimate) before I book, but I'm getting worried if I don't hurry, my date will be gone. Guess I better make some decisions! :o)
  6. Question, has anyone seen a review of a beach wedding at the Riu Palace? All I see, everyone has married at the gazebo.

I'm also looking into a boat reception instead of doing it at the resort. So, if anyone has any information on that, that would be fabulous.

And, one last thing, anyone have a price list for add-ons at the Riu Palace?

Thanks so much!! And I really need to learn how to work this site! :o)

  7. Good Morning girls!!

I am a newbie and am quite stressed over picking a resort. My TA had recommended Azul Sensatori which is beautiful but I believe is pricey. So, I started looking at the Riu Palace. I believe it's a little less expensive and it's closer to Playa Del Carmen which I like.

I am going to start reading the threads but if anyone has any advice, good or bad, I'm ready for it.

    Thanks girls!!

Jannae ~ hope you have a fabulous wedding!! :o)
