  1. The first one has a really cool neckline, but my pick is still #2
  2. Lisa - I'm actually going with WestJet. It ended up being cheaper for us to go that route. It may have a lot to do with it being the beginning of the off season though.
  3. I actually agree with both of you ladies. For our ceremony I want the beach to be the decor. We're not paying extra for flowers to decorate the space. They put up tulle around the gazebo for the wedding, and that's good for us. But as for the reception/dinner... I didn't want the ugly fake flowers they use as centerpieces, or their printed menus... I've done my own centerpieces, and all my own print material. We're not going crazy and bringing linens and other decor because the cost doesn't make sense to us... but I totally understand girls who do. I'm kind of on the fence I still want it to be MY wedding though.
  4. Hey For my BD shoot I took my garter with. We actually had some fun, sexy shots with it. Other than that I just brought 2 pairs of the highest heels I own, a set of lingerie and a bra/panty set.
  5. Hey! So you're not getting them notarized then? I'm hearing the completely opposite from so many people. Half say it's fine to not, the other half say that you NEED them notarized. I wish Chandlyn would get her story straight... I don't really want to pay a lawyers 100s of $$ for something that's unnecessary
  6. I'm actually in the same boat! We ordered the long forms of our birth certificates and sent them in about a month back. Still haven't heard back about it. Other girls on my April forum are talking about notorized documents, but I can't find it written anywhere that these things need to be signed by a lawyer. HELP US!
  7. Haha! Wouldn't that be nice ! Stress weight loss! Haha! Unfortunately I don't think it will be that easy. I've been going to the gym to tone, but not really to lose weight. I'm pretty much at the weight my body likes being and I'm happy with it! Now only if the bottom part of those abs started peeking out I'd be satisfied! I can't wait to get the pics back either! We laughed about how she's going to wear it cleaning the house (Monica, from "Friends" style). I think I still like the small fold the best, btw Bailey, we're thinking of giving our parents each a nice & big framed (or stretch canvas) family pic. Our photog is doing family pics for us the day before the wedding and since neither of our parents have an even close to recent family picture we thought it would be nice !
  8. Lisa - I saw white rocks As for folds, I like both but I think I'm partial to the smaller fold. I picked up my dress today ladies ! I dropped it off to "live" at my sister's apartment until the wedding. It's a little snug, I'm not going to lie. But at least it's not going to be sliding off like before, haha! She took some pics for me, hopefully she'll email them soon
  9. Weird... looks like everyone is being told different information.
  10. Aw thanks. I don't know it off the top of my head but I can copy/paste it in here when I get home and have one in front of me
  11. I couldn't agree with you more. We've been looking EVERYWHERE for sumersiable LED turquoise lights. TONS of places in the US have them, but to get them shipped to Canada it's MORE than the cost of the lights. It's irritating.
  12. I haven't heard back from her yet either and my wedding is in April.... I agree, a simple "all is good" would calm my nerves, haha
  13. No problem ! We're bringing our own photographer so we don't need to pay a vendor fee as she's technically "a guest". If your vendor books a room they're a "guest" as well ! That's my understanding at least.
  14. I love these!! They're so unique and colourful !!
  15. These are mine ! Not totally done. The brown flower will be a larger version of the white one with the feathers and the "vases" (they're all plastic containers I fashioned into vases because there's no way I'm bringing glass with me on the plane) will all have turquoise LED lights in them.
  16. JayKay - If they are booking a room for the night, there wouldn't be a charge mekanabr - There is a $75 vendor fee to bring a person off resort
  17. kitty - It's actually ALL plastic ! I've seen so many amazing centerpieces on here but there was no way I was bringing glass down with me. It's so risky and I didn't want to be babysitting it. SO, I got creative. The tall "vase" is actually a plastic pasta container that we pried the lid off of off. The smaller ones are all storage containers for food that I got at the dollar store. I just glued ribbon around everything to dress it up a bit I have 3 of the tall ones and they cost me $7.99 each. I'd be totally willing to sell them after we get back if they make it back with us. The small ones were all between $1-$2. And thanks everyone for the compliments! I'm really happy with how they're turning out.
  18. I have some sharing ladies First my centerpiece. It's pretty much done. I like things in 3's, as you can see. The one thing that will change is the brown flower will be white flower ball with feathers (a larger version of the small one) and it will be filled more with jewels, seashells & those neato wicker balls, haha. Also all 3 containers will have turquoise LED lights in them. It's just tough to find them in Canada (and shipping from the US costs more than the lights themselves, ugh). And a close up.... Now for my shoes! I gave up my search for pretty turquoise shoes that were less than 3" tall and got something neutral that matches my dress (which is champagne with mocha accents) And my wedding jewelry (bracelet & earrings) And finally these are our hair flowers, mine in the middle & the girls on either side...
  19. Hey ! I know that everyone does it a bit differently, but here's how we did it. We sent out postcard style STD's about 10 months in advance. Before this we had already spoken to our core group who we knew would be coming and had planned out travel. We've been together for almost 9 years and everyone knew we'd be doing a DW so it wasn't a surprise. We sent out our invites 3 months before. It was mostly a formality as our whole group was booked already. We sent them to everyone who we had sent a STD to, with the exception of those who showed no interest in coming. I didn't want to rub it in their face so to speak. I also went all out with our invites and they were quite expensive to make... I know most girls sent invites to everyone despite them attending or not, but in our situation this is what worked. We're kind of lucky when it comes to costs... I'm a graphic designer by trade so all the design was covered, and printing was cheap. Invites can be expensive and shopping around is a great idea. Even checking out places like etsy you can find great original designs. If you want to go message in a bottle expect to pay a lot more for shipping. For our invites we included the actual invite, a RSVP, a travel info sheet, an accomodations sheet & an events sheet. It made sense because we did pocketfold invites. Again, most of it was a formality as we've spoken to all of our guests and they have a good idea Good luck
  20. Meggers - I know how you feel about the photography situation. For us, photography was the most important thing as well. We're super fortunate to walk into an amazing deal (as you've seen from my previous posts), and it happened at a great time because I was starting to doubt if I liked my current photographers work enough. Like it was good, but it wasn't really doing it for me anymore... Now I'm extremely happy with our choice. She's booked time to sit down with us before we leave and go over everything as well which is really comforting. Brandy - OMG it's so close for you!! Ellabaja - I'm happy I'm at the end of the month too. It'll be 8 weeks until we leave as of this Saturday. Even that seems insane to me! And of those 8 weeks, most of the weekends are already accounted for. Craziness. My exciting dates coming up: March 1st - I pick up my dress March 26th - My shower April 9th - My stagette April 15th - We move into our new house (and are doing a weekend of reno's - tearing out the carpet, etc)
  21. I may not be too much help here because I don't work in Word... but if it's a true PDF the fonts should be converted to outlines. Check the options and see if there's anything about "rasterizing text" or "converting to outlines". You can also try "print to PDF" as opposed to just saving it as a PDF. Again, I don't know if Word has this option, I work with the Adobe suite and word is quite foreign to me. Another option if this keeps happening for you is saving and bringing the font file with you then the company will have it to install. Good luck.
  22. Weeeird! Because I had spoken to Beverly and she said that it was fine if we just scanned our birth certificates in and sent them off to her. She mentioned nothing about anything needing to be notarized.
  23. I'm in the same boat. I've only dealt with Beverly. I sent Chandlyn an email today telling her everything Beverly and myself had gone over, just to be sure. I've already been screwed over on my date once so I'm really paranoid now! What kind of notarized documents do you need to send over???
  24. Okay... so anyone who has spoken to Chandlyn... is she checking the main (Beverlys) email? We sent in our birth certificates a few weeks back and still haven't heard a reply regarding them... I'm really concerned now. With how busy they were with 2 of them, now there's only one standing.
