  1. Congrats on booking a date for your wedding. I just booked a wedding in the area for Feb 2011 and am excited to explore the area more!! If you get any good tips be sure to share!
  2. so as a professional wedding attender (ok Im a photographer but I do get to go to a lot of weddings and see a lot of interesting stuff) here are my top three 1. Grooms father was the minister at the wedding, and kept saying his other son's name. Can you say favorite? 2. An out of the way wedding where bridal party was gone for a few hours taking photos (hey I can understand that) but there was nothing for the guests to do, or drink, or eat... I was a guest at this one, so you can't blame me for taking the couple for that long!!! My mom and I drove for 30 minutes to find a place to get coffee, and sat in the car and watched tv on a portable dvd player...for 2 hours... 3. Drunk relatives are always a treat, but there was one in particular that was BAD. So bad that he couldnt find the bathroom and peed off of the balcony that was attached to the banquet hall! Thats all I've got for now!!
  3. Hey Ladies, Just noticed the ring chatter I just wanted to quickly mention ebay as an option for rings! We got my ring made but got my husbands titanium stove pipe comfort fit band on ebay for about $20! You cant always find what you are looking for but its worth a try! Oh and on the photographer thing, there are lots of photographers who are willing to travel for destination weddings (there are a tonne on the forum) if there are any you really like it doesn't hurt to message them because if they already have a wedding down there around your wedding date, they might be able to make a deal! Gosh I wish I was planning a wedding again! (am I sick I love this stuff!!!)
  4. I'm not getting married in 2011 but I have been getting lots of photography requests for around the same time as your wedding, so know that you are not alone!!!
  5. Nice! I just posted on another thread that the personlized travel mugs were by far the most popular item at a friends recent destination wedding! Nice choice!!!
  6. wow I would love to get a bag with all of these items!!! a friend of mine recently got married down south and by far the most popular items were personalized insulated travel mugs. Guests uses them all week to keep their drinks cold! Ciao Heather
  7. Hello Best Destination Wedding Forum! My name is Heather Crosby Gionet and I am a Wedding and Boudoir photographer based out of Nova Scotia, Canada. I seriously love weddings, photography, travel, and making women feel beautiful! I truly feel like I have the best job in the world to be able to combine all of these things! It looks like I will be traveling to Riviera Maya and/or the Playa del Carmen area during 2011 and because of this (depending on your dates) may be able to offer discounted photography services that include travel (you may just have to pay whatever the hotel requires to have an off-site vendor) for wedding, boudoir and trash the dress packages. You can check out my wedding work here my boudoir work here and my blog here (to get to know me, my style and to see my most recent work) Contact me for details on booking your wedding coverage or even trash the dress and/or on location boudoir! (what a sexy gift for your groom!!!) I am also open to traveling just about anywhere and will do my best to quote reasonable rates (which I suppose is a relative term! but I really will ) Thanks for reading and I hope to hear from you soon! Ciao for now! Heather
