  1. Amazing...you girls are great! Actually, right after I posted that..I recieved an email back with the confirmation number and deposit forms. Definetly great advice to keep all my correspondence..ill have to start a file for all my "wedding emails"!! We had requested a civil ceremony, but I was told that the judge wont arrive until 6:30pm, so we can just sign the paperwork then...Is anyone else doing this? Does this mean the wedding co-ordinator performs the ceremony? What package did people decide to go with? I was thinking of doing the ultimate, but there are a few things in there I dont think are necessary. However we definitely want a private dinner and reception, so maybe the ultimate is the best way to go? Also...does anyone know where the cocktail hour takes place? Ok theres my 20 questions for tonight...I'm sure I'll have a MILLION more LOL !!!
  2. Hi again, Just wondering if you all recieved some sort of confirmation number that holds your date and time? They have still not asked me for any type of deposit, and I have been asking them to send me the form...... I am just a little paranoid, as my guests are already beginning to put down their no refundable deposits, and I havent really recieved anything formal confirming my date. I have to say that I'm already getting frustrated with the response time from Deyarnira. ughhhh
  3. Thanks Ladies! It feels like such a weight has been lifted off me now that the resort is FINALLY chosen, and the date confirmed...Now on to the fun planning I had thought we would get married at the gazebo (bc I wasn't a huge fan of the arch on the beach), but now that I've seen pics of the chuppa (sp?)...I love it! It's just so beautiful...I think we may go for that option! I love it with just the white linen on it..

  6. Hi Ladies, We have booked our wedding at the Grand Palladium for Jan 12 2011! I was at this resort last May with a friend, and fell in love with the beauty of it. I have chosed the "Pearl Package", but have a few questions about it (its proving VERY difficult to communicate with the wedding co-ordinator). Would love to hear feedback if possible! 1) I see that the package includes a bouqet and boutinere for the bride and grooms. However, I do not see an option for "add-ons" for bouqets and boutineres for the bridesmaids and groomsmen Maybe I am missing something - do you know if these are provided as part of the pearl package? 2) Does the "sparkling wine for toasting bride and groom" provide enough for all in your party? Does this generally happen immediately after the reception? 3) What does the "wedding bliss decor" entail exactly We are getting married at the lovers bluff gazebo, and I want to have chairs with covers for the guests...Im hoping this package covers this? 4) If I want to have a private dinner/reception at the blue lagoon restaurant. Is any of this covered in the pearl package? Or is there a per person rate? 5) If you hire the reggae or mento band for instance...do you have the option of when you want them to play? Can you choose to have them play specifically at the dinner/reception? What did most people do for music at their ceremonies? I think I would prefer to hire the reggae band to play at the reception. Thanks so much...please bear with me and my million questions
  7. Hi Again, So my finance and I were set on Jamaica, however, it looks like it may be too expensive to ask our guests to pay. Can anyone suggest resorts in either Mexico, Dominican Republic, or Cuba, that we may be able to get a group rate of $1300 all inclusive per guest? Would love to hear what resorts you are getting married at, if you were able to secure a rate around this price? Thanks soooo much, look forward to your insight!!!
  8. Hi All! My fiance and I are recently engaged and are planning a wedding in Jamaica in January of 2011. I must say I am so happy to find this forum! What a wonderful way to keep informed. I am in the very EARLY stages of planning...ie trying to decide on a resort, and secure a wedding date. I am set on Jamaica as I fell in love with the island when I was at the Grand Palladium last may. I would love to do it there, and have made several attempts to get in contact with the wedding co-ordinator at the resort, to see if that date is available. I have yet to hear anything. Anyways our main concerns is that it is affordable for our guests! Any suggestions? So happy to have found this site again
