Charmaine, I also know how you feel. When I book ours, my cousin (sister I never had) i had invited them but i never thought that they could afford it (her & husband & three girls 22,21,17) for them it was going to cost £7500. I had considered else where, but mexico was our first holiday together so seemed right to get married there. Any way they booked a week later and sent me a text 'guess whos going to mexico', first i thought that it was only my cousin and her husband but when i called her it was all of them i just burst into tears it made my day. I had always planned to have the girls as my bridesmaids, so was very happy that they were coming. As to the expense, mexcio is very expensive. We are staying at the Sensatori Resort and it was £1500 for a week and £1900 for two weeks. We paid for my parents and OH's dad to come for a week, and if they wanted to stay for the two weeks then they paid the extra. OH's mum decided that she couldn't afford it so she's not coming at all (even though she had nothing to pay!!!). Our bill came out as £12,000 including our wedding package Chin up and all will work out in the end :-)

Hi, we are having a party a couple of weeks after we get back. We are having it at a country club nearby and will be 7pm-1am. We are having a photographer aswell to get photos with friends and family who couldn't come, as we are all going to wear opour wedding attire again (yippee). I'd have it longer given the chance but couldn't afford to! If your having it at home I dont see why you couldn't make it an all day thing. Good luck with the planning!

Feels like I have no idea what to do until next year when I can really start going! We've had the full confirmation through and so far we currently have 19 adults and 3 kids coming with us. I think there are about 7 more adults DEFINITELY coming but in the process of booking up. I'm having a dilema at the moment as I cant decide whether to have our ceremony on the beach or in the gazebo thingy? Ideally we always wanted it on the beach but I cant get the ceremony any later then 3pm - and in August that is HOT HOT HOT! Are you all getting married on the actual beach? So pleased to be getting back in the swing of things! Take care and good luck on all the weigh in's this week girls! I'm hoping for a little loss myself! Mel xxx Hi Mel, we are also getting married in August, we are having a 3pm wedding on the beach, I know it's going to be hot but why go all that way and not get married on the beach! You can always get parasols for our guests??? Plus remember its only for 30-45mins. Where are you getting married?

Snap thats exactly what i thought of thomsons you pay extra for nothing. I ended up downgrading my package to the Pearl package (which they didnt tell me about) and saved myself £1500 as I dint want half the things in the pack, now I can get the extras that I do want with the money I saved eg Private reception, bridesmaid flower, bridal suite for hair & makeup on the day.

Hi ladies, Took my last two bridemaids to get measured for their dresses on Saturday, they loved the dress as the hadnt seen it (big relief), I paid them dresses off to woohoo! Hollie wanted to try her dress on to, but we really struggled to get it off her as she wanted to keep it :-). I had a lovely mummy daughter day yesterday with Hollie, we went to see Disney on ice, it was great and Hollie got to shake all the characters hands as we were at the front, lovely day :-) I got tt tickets now OH is asking mr to see them eBay to help pay for the wedding, but I want to go! :-(

Thanks ladies you've been helpful, as I'm from the uk bringing a photographer with me is out of the question (too expensive), our wedding is at 3pm so it very early and will need photographer for along time so I get the getting ready shots. Maggie I know what you mean about the expensive for half hour, but hay-ho the things we do for good photos!

Hi ladies, I'm after some advise. Photographers- who are you using and what coverage time are you having? I'm really not sure how long they are needed for can you help?? Also does anybody know the dimensions for the sheer for the gazebo near pier? As i'm thinking of taking my own, to get the right colour and save money, Is anyone else doing this? What other things are people taking to cut the costs? Chong can you send me the templates- [email protected] Thanks ladies

Well I spoke to thomsons weddings yesterday and they said we can downgrade to the pearl package and it will save us £1500, so then we can get all the extras we wanted. I went and paid my dress off yesterday and tried it on once more just to check it's still the one, and yep felt a million dollars in it. :-)

Josie when. Booked we wasn't given the option of the pearl package otherwise I would have booked it, so I hastily book the silver knowing there was things in the package didn't want. My TA also warned me not to book direct incase anything happened i wouldnt be covered. So hopefully I'll be able to downgrade the package today.

I'm so bloody annoyed with my TA, I emailed my WC asking if they do trades and she said no trades but I would be better downgrading to the pearl package which doesn't have the bits I dont want, but my TA never offered me this package in the first place. If they had of done I would have gone for it and added on what I want. So now I have to go back to them again and get them to sort it out, I'm really not happy with them! :-( Bit of a difference in package price $2500 to $950, I'll be able to get all the extras that I want with that package :-) let's see what they say to that! Well done Michelle that's great :-) my ring is similar to yours. I'm going to pay my dress off tomorrow, and paying bridesmaid dresses off Saturday, next month pay off the rings! :-)
