  1. omg. Mrs D, your post made me soooo happy! glad you are having the time of your life. can't wait to hear from you when you get back!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. wow. you are practically done! veil sounds lovely too. and HOW did you lose 35lbs??!! i would really like to lose 10-15 and i need to start now! FI wants to lose 10 also (but it will be easy for him)
  3. slapsahappy, who cares what these dbags say. you DONT have to explain yourself or your food to anyone =) they will definitely let you mix and match a few things..esp if its just one dessert. the polynesian sounds great. the reception counts in the unlimited functions. so awesome that you have that many people coming!

  5. you can negotiate with them to bring your own linens. they may try to tell you that you have to do all the set up yourself...but you won't. they will take care of you
  6. ohyeah, bows and runners are from: tablecloths-chair covers- table linens-sashes wholesaler
  7. totally agree with you alison about the bows adding color and saving on other decor. we are also ordering the same cheeeeap table runners, so we aren't really doing center pieces ....just scattering some starfish/sandollars in the middle of the table (again...cheeeap). about the bday cake: Our wedding day is the same as FI's sisters 30th bday. i thought it would be really nice to do something special for her....its a big bday. but since everything is so expensive, im thinking about just using our free cake as her bday cake and put her name on it. we dont really care about the cake and countless reviews have said nobody ate them anyway. our reception menu comes with tons of desserts anyway. i know not every bride would be willing to give up her wedding cake, but its one of those things on my "dont care" list. just an idea for you jodimichelle
  8. I know...can you believe the menu!!?? very tough. im going to take the guests and our tastes into consideration. also some of the previous reviews! and from what ive heard (as with most things at MP) is that with a little "fighting" you can do some mix and matching. Im also thinking i dont want to do something like bbq that i could eat anytime (and that is probably better here). afterall, we are in MEXICO. i want something ethnic...but not too ethnic for picky guests! basically...i have NO IDEA what i will pick. =) chair bows...ive gone back and forth also. i know they aren't that big of a deal, but looking at pics with and without...i just feel like they add so much. (esp since im on the beach, and not in a gazebo) so im springing for them. but the website i found them on has really nice ones in the perfect color for .90 cents a piece...and they wont take up a ton of room. but i totally think the set up looks fine without them.
  9. Yea! congrats!! always a relief to know when everything turned out great. cant wait for pics. ashnic...how are you feeling with only a month to go!! what else do you have to do?
  10. yes. the chapel is recognized. your priest has to approve it and all the same paper work has to be filled out
  11. i like the color palate! i think the silver will look great. always been a fan of salmon/coral. im getting the taffeta crinkle "orange coral" sashes and runners for our wedding (from TC factory) with the girls in watermelon dresses (eventhough they are bitching). i guess im the only one who is bitter that they changed my free tours! it just seems to me that we used to have UNLIMITED tours AND 300 spa credit....now they are limited by a dollar amount. once you use that up, you're done. im just saying.... but anyhoo, life goes on. we aren't doing that many tours anyway. LOL. just playing dev. advocate. im hoping to be mosquito free too! but just in case, i think im putting the little off wipes in my oot bags. i also heard that the resort has citronella candles. might be worth while to request those in advance to prevent a swarm!
  12. punta cana, dominican republic! gorgeous
  13. eeeeeeek. what a gamble! buying too soon...buying too late....missing a deal. ahhh

  15. i remember my WC telling me that a few of the grand side terraces do not allow dancing due to weight restrictions. dont know if its terrza mar or not... i think there is a pic of it on the wedding reception site thread
  16. well, i hope the new passport is awesome...i just have my doubts and smell trouble. i just see them saying "oh, you can't use it for this, or this, or that" after we get there. its cool that you could apply some to spa, but we were already getting a 300 spa/golf credit anyway with unlimited tours. that just sounded like a better deal to me
  17. i think i will have at least 25 people, but not 25 ROOMS. still worried because the website says that booking through a TA means you dont get squat. i dont even want to email my WC about it, becuase i dont want to hear any bad news. hmph
  18. so slapsappyhappy.....you still get the new passport when booking through a TA?? the website says you dont
  19. anabrina. thanks for sending me maribels address, but my email account was deleted so i did not receive it. can you please pm me
  20. thats a big pile of bs about the new passport. the old one was included when booking through a TA. this will just be another thing on the list for my TA to fight for. good thing she usually wins...ive already promised my guests free tours! not as good of a deal as the other passport either. that just really pisses me off
  21. Thats a big pile of BS about them changing the palace passports. definitely not as good as the old one....and im sure when we get there they will tell us that none of the stuff we want to do is included in the new passport. typical

Its very very different in comparison to a normal ceremony. mayans do their vows from the heart while their lover holding their palms to the other person's heart. very symbolic and romantic but definitely not the type of wedding for ppl who like traditional weddings... and claudia is : cfonesca ok thanks. is that the claudia from miami or mexico??
