  1. Hi Girls: I haven't been on here for awhile so thought I should get in on some of the conversation. I have a question for any of the brides who are already married and had a legal ceremony down in Mexico. At work yesterday one of the guys I work with told me he has heard alot of nightmare stories of people not receiving their marriage licenses from the mexican government for up to a year after they had the wedding. Any truth to this, please someone give me some good news. Also just wondered about the wedding photographer at the Tulum. Has anyone used them and wondering about the cost. Our package that we asked for is $540.00 and is the basic package (36 pictures for 540 dollars). Any comments on the pictures, the email they sent us back states they take alot of pics and then get together with you after the wedding to go through all the pictures and you can purchase more packages. Any brides gone through this? Dawn

I am ok with doing my own make-up but would like someone to do my hair. My hair has a will of its own. Natural curly hair in a tropical climate is a b......ch! MY hair looks like a rat made a home in it when ever I go on vacation. What am I going to do!!!! I live up in Western Canada and my hair stays pretty smooth with the amount of product I put in it. I just bought some of those velcro rollers and a new curling iron to do ringlets. Will mess around with them and see what I can do. Dawn
  3. Hi All April Brides: I am also one and have just found this thread. I have been on the Bahia Principe Bride Thread. I am still having trouble getting around on BDW. We have 31 people booked for our wedding and that is just family and a few friends. We could possibly have more as I am sending my invitations out within the next 2 weeks. The last few pages you have been talking about song lists. Does anyone have some song suggestions for the wedding when the flower girls, bridesmaids are walking? We have decided on our first dance song it is: Someone Like You by Van Morrison Dawn

Seems like that may be an issue. How are things going for you?? Hey Lorina: My WC is Jazmin and we have been emailing back and forth a few times but my last email 3 weeks ago hasn't been answered yet? I think I will just be patient as she has told other people to not email her until 3 months prior. I have alot of my questions answered so far as far as gazebo and dinner also we are having the poolside cocktail reception and are going with the DJ. After reading some of the problems with the renting of the sound system it seems rather odd that some girls are not having problems and some are? I hope you get this all figured out. Keep in touch and let me know how your planning is going. Dawn
  5. Hi Lorina: That is so cool. We are staying at the Tulum too. How is your planning going? Dawn
  6. Thanks so much for all the information. I am getting more excited every day. You looked beautiful!!!! Did you bring the flower for your hair ?
  7. Hi Keira: I am new to this site and thanks for the review. I have a question about the cake. We are wanting to have the 3 milk cake but have read some posts saying it was really gross. What kind of cake did you have? Also did the resort do your flowers? Did you bring your own candles for the cake table? I will probably think of more questions to ask you. You looked really beautiful and loved your wedding cocktail dress!!!! You meantioned that it ws the shortest ceremony ever................. How fast was the ceremony? Was it personal or should a couple write our own vows to make it more personal.
  8. hi: We are having a cocktail reception by the pool after our dinner at the Tequila Restaurant. I am hoping to have the DJ. We are expecting about 40 people so need some good music to keep them dancing. If anyone has had the cocktail reception by the pool.........would you please let me know how it went. We are wondering about the cost of the bar........was given cost per person and given the fact that there are a few children and older people who don't drink much..do we get charged full price for them? Any insight would be great! Dawn
  9. Hi Sandra: Welcome and I am in the midst of planning my wedding at the GBP Tulum. If you need any advise I will help you if I can. So far it has gone fairly smooth. We have decided on the beach wedding and dinner at the Tequila Restaurant then pool side reception with a DJ. Still have to pick flowers etc. Happy planning Dawn
  10. Hi Gals: I have just got a email back from my WC from BP Tulum and she has told me that we only need our passports, marriage application (which was a form she had sent me), tourist cards (which we get when we arrive), blood tests and 4 witnesses. I was under the impression we needed long form birth certificates, divorce decrees (we were both previously married) and passports, tourist cards, blood tests. The birth certs. and divorce decrees were to be translated into spanish also. I am confused now as she has told me I do not need these docs. Can anybody shed some light on this for me. I want to make sure our marriage is legal!! Thanks Dawn
  11. Hi Jennybell: Your oot bags look great. I have just purchased travel candles and muslin bags from blissweddingmarket.com and the bags measure 4" x 6". They come personalized...........I am going to put small travel items in them and give them out at the welcome dinner. I will put the travel candles on the table at the wedding dinner along with placecards. I am going to be ordering personalized flipflops from partyflops.com..........they deliver them right to the resort so one less thing to cram in the suitcase. Check out the web site. Any suggestions for my small OOT bags would be appreciated......you are so creative. Dawn
  12. Thanks for the info Teneil. I will take my chances and go with the photographer that the resort has. Hopefully they are creative and take some interesting shots. I wonder if anyone has used them and can give a review?
  13. Hi: I am getting married at the Tulum and have asked about Claudia and was given the link to the Photographer the hotel says we must use. Do you think there is any way I would be able to use Claudia? What do you think?
