  1. Thats a good idea, and while I love the TTD pics, I don't want to trash mine lol. Lindobride- did they say that you do the 60 dollar day pass and 300?
  2. Cool, I will check him out. I've been researching, but so many of the photographers down there are wayyyy expensive. We are doing Lindo as well.
  3. oh really? That is good news. I was told by the person who gave me some info on email, and also on their package information it says it at the bottom of the page. But heck, hopefully they're allowing it then! Do you know who you are going to use?
  4. Hi everyone, So last year I was told that we could bring outside photographers to the iberostar for 300$ extra. Now, while I'm planning to book for next spring, I'm being told No outside photographers are allowed. I've heard some bad things about the "fotocarribean" that is used there- I've looked at some of their examples, and some are pretty bad, but some are ok to. I'm wondering if anyone else is being told no photographers, or if anyone has used the fotocarribean? Pictures are one of the more important things to me.
  5. Thanks guys. I had no idea! I went ahead and emailed iberostar and a few others about it, and will see what they say. Pretty much if we did it the only thing we really want would be great pictures, and a nice private dinner or something to that effect, with a small cake. Ive been planning the whole wedding down there, and so far that is still the case, but this may work out better for us, although it's different than I had planned. We would probably do the legal ceremony at our house where family can attend and it would be pretty low key, just family and close friends, and then I could still get my beach wedding I want with just the two of us
  6. oh ok thank you. I couldn't find any "packages" so I wasn't sure, so I'll just invididually ask some different resorts. Thank you
  7. Hi all, So far I am planning on getting married at Ibersostar, but due to some family issues I am contemplating just doing the ceremonial part in Mexico with just my fiance, and am just looking around. Does anyone know any resorts that do private- just for the couple- ceremonies? Thanks! rose
  8. Thanks Emmers, that is good to hear .I was worried we wouldn't have any options, so thank you.
  9. are you ladies talking about for the legal ceremony (for the translation and all that?) How far in advance did you guys pick your dates? we had to push ours back due to some family stuff but I am thinking April of 2011, but I don't want to have to reserve it now and put it a deposit down till I am sure. (there is still issues with the family, so there is a small chance we may not do mexico). Do you think a year in advance is enough time? rose
  10. Amy, have you spoke to them about the private reception thing yet? I haven't had a chance to email them but it makes me nervous. I also feel like I keep finding all these extra fees. Has anyone completely planned it and know how much its costing them?
  11. How did you guys chose your dates? I'm concerned about hurricane season...
  12. SuzyQ- I'm sorry about your brother doing that! changing our plans aren't totally out of the question, but I dont know. And one of the things to is its cheaper doing the DW in mexico than it is getting married at my hometown (unless I want a back yard wedding), and that plays a part to Ldeeken- they are too young to travel by themselves . But I'm hoping I can get them to come. Doing it in my hometown is still an option, but I have to say its a pretty small one. I jsut feel like we would be resentful about it just because she doesnt want to deal with traveling and all that. thefuturemrs.slutz- I understand what you mean, I feel guilty asking people to spend all that money to! shellk- I think I would regret not having a DW wedding. I mean, there are somethings we can do at my hometown that would be great- like more of our friends could go, more dancing etc (and the sibling things). But over all, I think we would regret not doing it on the beach. At first I was totally against a DW wedding, but then started thinking about it and really fell in love with the idea. So, I could make it good if we did it at home to, but yes I do think a little part of me would always regret not doing DW. So I dont know. Like I said, I could find the positive in either sit. But I know that I'll always wish I had pictures on the beach and having a wedding there. I also think I would always be sad though if my siblings didn't get to be in it at all.
  13. Thank you for all the responses. It is nice to hear others have had similar experiences, and it is nice to hear that it is about my FI and I from someone. I'm sorry for all of you who've had similar instances! My mom and i have a rocky relationship...so I'm not too suprised with her. What upsets me the most though is if she doesn't go, then my siblings on that side (parents are divorced) will not be going and I really wanted them in the wedding. due to my mom, my siblings and I arn't as close and I would like, and they are young and unfortunately belief some bs she has told them (long story, but when I was a teenager I moved in with just my dad and that family, and she told them lies about why I moved and pretty much just cause I didnt love them... which of course is not true). So really for me, the hard part is that I really wanted them in it and my mom and i have been working on our relationship so I thought it'd get better. She wants me to have like two weddings. one with each family. Which is not going to happen! As for her not coming to mexico, she just said its a "hassle", and she also just doesn't like mexico. she is freaked out about the violence and drug wars going on there I was thinking about saying fine, and doing it at home town. BEcause one of the important things for me is having my siblings in it. But i also know we have our heart set on a DW in mexico, and if i change all that because its just too much of a "hassle" for her, then I will probably unfortunately hold a bit of that against her forever. Which i don't want to do. thank you all again for the comments! they did help and made me realize it is really what we want to do. I just wish my siblings could be there.
  14. So. My mom and that part of my family just informed me they won't be going to my wedding if i do it in mexico. I feel so torn at the moment! Any one else had this problem?
  15. where was the picture taken of the carisel? if you dont mind me asking. I don't remember it from the iberostar resort. It's a very nice picture!
  16. Amy- Its at the Lindo. Finley- lol, I can try inviting some more people and see if that works, but I should probably see what I can get them to do money wise. I really want a private reception.
  17. finleys, i would love to see that pic but it won't let it open to me. any way you could email it to me? Ill send my email to you, that would be awesome! So im a little freaked out with one thing that has come up- they told me I can't rent out an entire restuarant for a private reception unless I have over 40 people. I only have 30. So i don't know what to do
  18. ok i got an email back finally. Even though the website says it now does not allow photographers (outside) they told me they do still just for that 300 dollar fee. They also said they have two packages now...
  19. Hi everyone. So I was planning on getting married at the Iberostar Lindo. We are still considering this. But I am trying to look at other places due to some changes the Lindo may have made. But There are so many! So I was wondering if any of you know of some places I should look with these qualifications- Ceremony on the beach I really want the reception dinner included in the package Kid friendly I've done some looking into of the Gran Caribe, and like it. But the only private reception is for 3 hours in the 3700 dollar and that only includes 24 photos. Does anyone know what their photo packages are like and how the photos themselves are? I also like the Dream Cancun, but am having trouble finding the photo packages- or at least getting prices on them (anyone have them?) Thanks for any ideas!
  20. Nadine, thanks for the info. Photo is very important to me, but I have a budget. Is there somewhere I could see pictures done by the resort photographer? I know we would rent the sound equiment for the reception for music, but I hadn't thought about for the ceremony. Is it possible to do the ceremony on the beach, but literally on the beach not in the gazebo thing they talk about? My other question is people, all the packages say 20 people, I'm wondering if we can have more at a per person charge. thanks again!
  21. Hey everyone, hope everyone is having a good day. I was told a month or so ago about the 300 dollar fee, but now when online, I think under the extra's part, it says there is no outside photography allowed. So i'm wondering if this is a new change they made? My email which i've been emailing them is still down...but if anyone hears anything, would you mind letting me know? And the package thing. I was given a list of three different packages (there was a legal, a blessing and something else), and now its just that one. And since that is the only one they gave you, TRacy, I'm wondering if thats the new deal. And tracy, I am pretty open to any information on any resort. We really like Iberostar, we went there for a wedding not too long ago, but I still want to check everything out. I would love to see the pics, my email is [email protected] Thanks!
