Thanks for your responses! I do have some shells, starfish and sand dollars. Is it easier to carry those on? Jes, I can't believe your time is here! Quote:Originally Posted by kellygrrrl I believe the WCs will request that you address any mailings to their attention. Most brides have had shipments arrive successfully, although they say to allow appropriate time for customs, just in case. Shells are the most common thing that cause a hold-up. Other brides had packages returned to them in time to carry them onto the plane. And I don't think anyone had an issue with boxes being misplaced once they arrived at the resort - customs was the biggest headache. Best of luck, msglave! Let me know if you have luck with The Royal PDC! Again looks like it depends on what WC you get. Good to know about the dress code. I am getting ready to send an e-mail out to everyone about stuff we leave in 34 days!!!

Hey ladies. Took me a while to get through the last few pages. My MOH planned a surprise trip to Hedonism in Negril, Jamaica and we are just getting back. Welcome Kelly. Good idea about the FAQ. Jenny, you should get Fernandos price for hair the day of and compare the two. Lisa, your dress is beautiful! Did anyone mail their things to the resort yet? I'm trying to decide if Im going to mail some things.

Shoesiesluvr's (Cindy) Planning Thread.

Very detailed and AMAZING! I hope your day was perfect! -
Hi Jenny, Â I'm sorry to hear about that! Here is Doranna's email address: [email protected]. Here is a link to her website. Let her know Raveyn referred you. Hope it all works out! Â Congrats to all the new Mrs!

Wow! Why couldn't this happen after our day, lol! Thanks for the update. Â Thanks, Wendy! Â We LOVED Elizabeth Medina's style. My FI could go through an entire spiel of why she is "Elizabeth the Great." We never even got to her pricing because she was booked for our date. We are going with Victor Herrera/He has great style and his packages are more reasonable than 5000. PM me if you want more info. Â Hi Heidi! That is so cool! Can you please let me know what Puerto Morelos is like? We are going to honeymoon at the Secrets there and I'm looking for more info on the area, what its like and attractions. Welcome to the forum!

Hi Ladies, It's taken a while, but I think I've caught up! I had previously decided NOT to go with Marvin (as nice as he was) because my WC told me I would have to pay a vendor's fee even if someone met them to pick up the flowers. I hate always getting different responses. I think I will email him again and go ahead with the flowers. It sure does save money! We finally got our contract straight and put down our down payment. We are officially going with Victor Herrera for our pics. We both love his work. I also made my down payment to Doranna for my hair. I can't believe we are less than 3 months out. For you ladies who are just starting your planning, enjoy it! It really does go by quickly. We got all of our guests rebooked from Mexicana except for four. Unfortunately, those four paid on their bankcards and are waiting for their refunds before they rebook. I hope everyone's planning is going well! Runningbride, your date is coming up soon!

Hey ladies, sorry I've been MIA. Been working on my dissertation, preparing for the wedding and celebrating my birthday! Just wanted to let you all know that we finally booked and paid the deposit for the photographer and my hair. We are going with Victor Herrera and Doranna for hair. I can't believe we are only 3 months away! That time really flew by!

Hi Ladies,  I read through all of the older messages and feel pretty caught up. Regarding a couple of questions and Zulma's responses. I am copying and pasting the answers:   2.) Is there a policy that 4 people can come to the room three hours before the wedding to help the bride get ready with no vendor's fee? Please clarify.  Yes, 4 real resorts guests, they have to be guests of one of our properties    3.) Lastly, do you have a pic of the standard dance floor for beach receptions that you can send?  I’m sending you the dance floor we used before this is white , but is coming a new one and is dark brown, as soon as we have it I’ll take a picture to send it to you.  Also, I'm thinking about shipping my stuff, too. Since we went to American from Mexicana, we only get one bag now instead of 2 per person. That means I can't even give my BMs bags. That sucks! For pics, we are going with Victor Herrera, for hair I'm going with Doranna De Bortoli and for makeup I'm going with Adrianne from Studio H/Waves.

Hey ladies! Hope all of your planning is going well :-). I, too, am freaked out by this Mexicana business. We have 33 people booked and about half are on Mexicana. Out of that half, probably 85% booked through online agencies (Expedia and Priceline) who are NOT being helpful at all, even for the guests with trip insurance. I just don't know what to do. As Jes said, the guests are not pleased to have to fork over even more money! Â Jes, My keycard thread has the template and the vendor I used. It's in my siggy. Let me know if you have any questions.

Jes, I bought my travel sized item from Sam's Club. I'm not sure if you have one where you are. I ordered my chapstick from Medco when one of the BDW brides uploaded a coupon. I got it ridiculously cheap like $3.00 for 20 tubes or something like that. Â 101010, Welcome to the forum! Be sure to check out the thread on OOT bags-there's a master suggestion list and several ladies have shared their ideas there. Â After yet another complaint, we finally hear from our WC! Eight months from our booking and thank the Lord they finally got our time right! We finally have our Basecamp account setup. It has our wedding time, date, contract, forms and a message from our WC. I hope this continues!

Luna, the civil ceremony is the legal ceremony so you don't want that. From what I've heard, you should be able to do both with the symbolic ceremony I'm pretty sure you would just give that information to your WC when you meet with her. You may want to email it to her too so you will have it for your records. They have some really nice sand ceremony frames on Etsy. Hope everything works out!

Congrats Jennifer!!!! As far as I know, the ladies have used Norma from Mac in Cancun, Fernando from the make-up pros or Adrian from Studio H/Waves. Hope you have a great site visit!!!!! Â Chicago Bride, thanks for the encouragement. I know that all of the weddings (some king of way) turn out amazing. I'm simply saying that the communication has not been great, There are problems with current brides (even on this board)myself being one of them :-) . Lastly-with the Spanglish (LOL)-I feel that some response is better than none at all. Â As far as the band goes, I personally haven't heard anyone use one outside of mariachi. Good luck-hope it all works out for you! Â

Randi, that is good that your WC has been great. Unfortunately, several of the brides who I talked to and who are on this board have had planning issues. Â Note: Any new brides who are booking/considering booking your wedding here, if you read this thread from the beginning to the end, you will see that several brides have had problems contacting their coordinators. Basically, it's a crap shoot. You may get a good WC, and you may not. When I first booked my wedding, the WC office was in Michigan. Their were several brides having problems with their coordinators. While I felt bad for them, fortunately I didn't have problems. When they decided to make the move, all of my communication problems started. Â New brides, you need to be aware that the WCs are overworked. However, that is no excuse for your emails to go ignored and unanswered. In addition to paying the rates to stay at the resort, you will spend lots of money planning your wedding and your guests will spend alot of money going. I feel as though with the amount of money my FI and I are spending, we deserve to have our questions answered in a timely manner. Â The fact is while this resort is beautiful and I'm sure your guests will love it, most of the planners here suck. Several brides location/time, etc. have been changed (including mine) due to their lack of communication. As someone who is shelling out money, time and energy for what will be one of the biggest days of your life, you need to be aware of the problems that brides have had here. While I am looking forward to having our wedding here and being pampered, there have been alot of stress that could have easily been avoided if the WCs did the job that they are paid for and respected the brides emails/questions. Â You should NOT feel obligated to call the office or email corporate to get questions answered that is part of their job description. So, a I originally stated it is a crap toss as to the kind of service you will get and you need to be aware of that when deciding to book your wedding here. One reason we decided on a DW was for less stress too, but i f you are a person who is very anal about communication and having your questions answered in a reasonable amount of time, it may not happen. It is very difficult for me to just "go with the flow when I am planning my wedding!" Some way, all of the weddings end up working out in the end, but the stress leading up to it is ridiculous. If I didn't have the brides on this thread... Â Two weeks ago, I sent an email to our WC and to corporate because I had sent several emails that went unresponded. Well, the subject had our wedding day and time in it. Our email went unanswered. Two weeks later, I sent another with the subject DISSATISFIED WITH WEDDING COORDINATOR/WEDDING SERVICES. Then, my email was responded to within two days. The WC claimed that she had never received any of my previous emails. That told me one thing, if your wedding is not super close, they won't even read your emails. Â New brides, as I previously stated, yes the WCs are overworked but when it comes to your wedding, that you are shelling out money for, do you want to feel neglected? That's something that is likely and I think you need to be aware of that--not only the good with the great reviews but how your planning process could be.
