  1. Do not use Leah Robb at Island Wedding Memories. Attention to details big and small are not her strong point (wedding coordination is all about the details). Quick run down of the problems... The name of my wedding venue changed in December and she didn't tell me. In late March I sent out my wedding invitations with an incorrect venue name. Talk about screwing up a keepsake. I only accidentally found out about it in April, only a month before the wedding. At first she acted like she just found out from the venue, but when I contacted them with my frustration over such a late notice, they informed me she was told in December. The venue CCd her on their response and that is when she fessed up and apologized. As for the day of.... She was also our florist and put Green orchids on our wedding cake. They were never a requested or approved wedding flower. Orange and white orchids were the requested cake flowers as Orange and Aqua Blue were our wedding colors. The Green orchids did not match our wedding colors at all or any of our other wedding flowers. There were no loose orchids on any of the tables and the cake table was not decorated at all! This was confirmed several times beforehand. Our wedding package included cider and glasses for the beach pictures which we never got. After the wedding I realized she charged her 15% coordination fee to coordinate herself for the flowers! If an order came through her website that surcharge would not have been attached. Also, our package included a beach permit fee which we never needed either. She hot glued little crystals on my bouquet (never requested that) and they immediately started popping off and the dried glue was pretty tacky. Pearl pins would have been a much better choice or nothing at all. She was supposed to have a glass of champagne waiting for us inside at the bar after the ceremony for my groom and my private moment before pictures. That was missing and we had to order it from the bartender. She did not reserve a seat behind my Dad for my friend who was to be stepping up to take my flowers and then to give them back (no wedding party). That wasn't done and my friend popped up from a completely different location to take my bouquet and give it back at the end of the ceremony. That was no big deal really UNTIL we got our wedding video. Since she didn’t have her proper seat she ended up sitting right in front of the videographer so that the two times she stood up she was completely blocking the frame of the videographer. It looked terrible on the video. I asked a couple people about the pre-ceremony music and they said they could hardly hear it. Obviously she had no control over the sprinkles after the ceremony. But when the tables were brought inside they were mixed up and our parents’ tables were not next to us as they were supposed to be. A couple of our parents made mention about how far they were sitting from us. That should have been looked at when the change was made. We are very happy to be married with our loved ones and blessed to have the wedding we did, but I wouldn't recommend anyone use her. I even e-mailed her when we got back to let her know of my disappointment with her lack of communication and attention to detail and she never replied to it. I guess once she got my money she could care less. Really, she could care less from the start.
  2. I feel your pain Amanda! My wedding is May 15th and I was just informed that the name of my venue has changed from SeaWatch Restaurant to Gannon's and that my guests will no longer be allowed to order table side, I will now have to have their entree choices in 72 hours prior to the wedding. None of this would have been an issue if I had been informed BEFORE my invitations went out. Now my invitations and directions card lists the wrong name of my venue and my RSVP card did not have meal choices. So now I have to contact all of my guests somehow (phone, e-mail, mail) and let them know of the name change so they don't get confused when trying to find the venue, and also to give them their meal selections and get their choices. With all the etiquette and class that involves I might as well have sent out an E-vite!!! Gannon's will NOT accommodate me with the table side ordering even though this change is taking place only 2 weeks before my wedding!!! AND now my invitations which were obviously intended on being keepsakes have the wrong name on them! So since we now have to contact everyone anyway we figure we will see if we can find another venue because we are so angry at this last minute change and no communication from Gannon's that we don't want them to have one red cent of ours!!
  3. We are staying at a condo in Kihei where the rooftop is set up with BBQs tables, and a small covered kitchen. We are going to have a rehearsal dinner/mixer on the roof and watch the sunset. We aren't sure yet if we are going to have some of our master BBQ friends help us cook up something great on the BBQs or if we will just cater something easy from Da Kitchen or some other restaurant where we can do an easy food pick up.
  4. Our photographer is making a photobook of our engagement photos as a guest book. I have attached a couple of pages to show you. Each side is one side of the book with the binding down the center. Our guests will sign in the open spaces around the pictures. This is much easier to travel with than a matted picture. 6. April, I currently have my wedding and reception reserved at the SeaWatch with the afterparty taking place at Mulligan's. If Mulligan's is really that much cheaper I may switch my reception there. Was your reception inside our outside and was it private? Thanks!
  7. These are absolutely fantastic! Do you have a separate thread that explains how you made them?

Thanks everyone! I am currently on the task of wedding invitations. Trying to figure out if I should do them myself or just order them. On my way to some of the other forums to see what other's experiences have been. Good luck to me!
