I CANT WAIT!! lol, im so excited for you!!!! We did a welcome party on the beach. They happen to have 2 new parties now, mexican and carribian. Its basically where theres a bunch of picnic tables and food, activites, vendors etc... its free and it fell on the same night all our guest arrived. So we all sat together and theres a bar set up right on the beach. I believe mexican party is Thursday night and carribian monday night.

Meghan, We choose the flan for our reception. You either love it or hate it. Same with rice pudding. There were only about 4 ppl who enjoyed the flan in our party. We didn't do a cake tho, since we are having our ahr we are having cake there instead. I LOVED the cheese cake at the resort and concidered switching last minute, but totally forgot lol...
  3. I wanted to give my girls a quick lil review before I start working on my long one. First, I used destination weddings.com, and we had a GREAT expirence with our travel agent, Gayle. Please request for her if you choose that company. She has totally been on top of everything the entire time, and been totally honest with us from the begining. Even told us from the get go that Azul sensatori was pricey. (* lol, didn't really believe it in the begining) haha. arriving at as was so cool, got champagne and cold refreshing towels since it was so hot there. They do this for everyone, but you feel like royalty. There was a mix up with our room but they more than fixed it. We first checked into a swim up room. Which was a room off of the lazy river, but was not a swim up. Then we went and complained and requested a PREMIUM swim up room, which is different than the regular swim up. The premium has a jucuzzi right outside your swim up area, which is so fab, because the water is so cold in the pools, So at night you can have a lil after party in your outside swim up. BUT instead they ended up putting us in the honeymoon suite all week long. If you look up the prices for that, you'll know what a hook up this was, so awesome. Wrap around balcony and huge room. We enjoyed every min of it We used our jucuzzi in our room almost everynight. It does take long to fill, but we found things to do while it was running the resort was so nice and the food was amazing. The best part of the trip was the employees there. They are so nice and helpful. Its almost embarrasing how nice they are to you. Carry your plates, open doors, pulling out chairs, puttn your napkin on your lap, just very very good service all week long. The workers dont get paid sh*t there, so they basically live off your tips, so a little goes along way and alot gets you anything you want. If theres something you want. just ask. And ppl there will do work on the side if you really need something. The flower girls dressed ripped and they fixed it for free in less than an hour, and didn't charge me. And it was not a little rip, they re-sewed the entire caroline all the way around. Im so happy I chose that resort and definitly encourage anyone that is thinking about AS to do it. They know what they are doing down there. The offsite team.... well, lets just say if you have Tiffany, I would ask to be switched. She is either way over worked with alot of brides or doesn't know the resort at all. And will be catching alot of heat from my wedding and andreas. (mrs Vaughn) The wedding day went perfect. I don't even know what to say because i truely expected at least a lil something to not be perfect, but honestly, it was perfect ceremony, perfect reception. If anyone has any questions, ask away....
  4. Hey pretty ladies!!! im backkkk! so tired and promise to write more later. But azul sensatori was amazing. The onsite team are so awesome, they honestly will do anything for you. I had the best BEST BEST time ever. oh, i could cry.... so excited to tell you girls all about. Ill come back on tonight! xoxo.

The pearl package also does not include the sand ceremony, do you girls know if we can bring our own sand etc to do the sand ceremony to save whatever cost the resort wants for this? I emailed Tiffany to ask her what the sand ceremony would cost to add to the pearl package, but I was thinking it would make more sense to bring my own stuff. Hey Sammyhawk, I too have to pearl package,AND im doing that same private ceremony this weekend actually and I added the sand ceremony, I believe $45? Id have to double check my invoice. I just got my sand from hobby lobby for 1.25, but they also have sand at the dollar store! Hope this helps

I had this same issue and feel that I was forced to have a private reception. Its ludacris that they are so unaccomidating with this issue. Esp when your wedding is bringing the resort so much buisness.... I have 31ppl with the pearl package and ended up getting a private reception. So, it really just depends on where your at with your planning , how flexible you are with winging it, and how you want your reception to be and how many ppl, because you could always just plan on having your reception at a resturant, and just wing it when you get there and then throw $20 to the hostess , it can go along way at a resturant when trying to seat a large group(aka reception)

  9. Hey girls, Does anyone happen to have the wedding playlist that one of our brides provided on her awhile back? If so, will you pm it to me?? I cant find it?
  10. oh, btw, i just got news from tiffany yesterday. So there is no longer the smores party. THey added 2 new ones. carribean party and mexican party..... As soon as she sends me details I will share, unless anyone else has them first.

I've been planning my wedding now for almost 2 years so things could have changed or I'm just loosing my mind My cocktail reception will be on the beach on the wooden palapas. When I was given options of cocktail reception areas, Sky Deck wasn't listed but who knows it could be an option now. I'm doing the donkey cocktail hour which is no longer offered. It's 5 mexican hor'derves, open bar and Filemon the donkey which you can take pictures with, $10 per person. Also there is one menu where a dinner is $20 and then a comparable entree on a different menu that is almost $50. If someone could let me know their budget breakdowns that would be awesome. Also if the hotel was willing to negotiate on prices too... Thanks!!! Welcome to the party! Were happy to have you!! Im having a private reception in 16 days WOW lol, and I promise to report back to you girls on food. I did the 3course meal, a salad, chicken and potatoes & veggies and flan for dessert. I find the banquet menu confusing as well... some things they will say refer to banquet menu on lomas website, somethings LIKE CHAIRS, you dont refer to lomas, of course not cause theyre cheaper on there haha, go figure

Amy,Im totally opposite, ONLY because ive had horrible expirence with off site coordianter and Ive got quick acurate answers from my DW ta. Im jealous that youve had such a good expirence with your offsite....
  13. I have been a ball of tears for weeks. lol, at one point mine were opposite tho, i was driving home saying a lil prayer for my fiance. God grant me the serinity to not kill him when I get home hahahaa!!! I lovem to death, but weddings sometimes brings out the crazies in ppl! Sooo cute tho how were all emotional hehe
  14. amyB, i agree with you totally with centerpieces.... Since im having an at home reception, i cannot justify paying for things twice, so Ive actually decided to NOT have centerpieces and just do tons of candles... And the maracas if i can find them when I get there. Also, fyi, i read somewhere on this forum that one bride did NOTHING for her reception and they actually put candles on tables for you and she said they looked great. I saw a pic on kat somthings wedding review and there were blue candles all over and she said they put them there so you dont even need to bring anything. I love the idea of beach elegance, so Im thinking of bringing crystal curtains to hang around in every other side of the gazebo for my reception. With the reflection of dj lights and candels i think it'll make a fab look!
  15. Andrea, we will be in mexico in NO time can't wait! Lucky you for haing a creative hubby. Mine has not a one creative bone in his body lol.
  16. Oh goodness, thats horrible about your TA! What company are you girls going through?? I use destination weddings and there have been mixed reviews, although im happy with the service I have recieved and so are my guest. VERY VERY quick responses.

I'm sure I'll have 100 pages to catch up on when I get back! Have a great weekend everyone! Have a fab trip Nicole!

Despite me and my practicality of wanting to take pictures BEFORE the ceremony as I wasn't originally planning on having a cocktail hour, FI put his foot down and said he ABSOLUTELY wasn't seeing me before the wedding and it was bad luck. We're not even staying together the night before, he said he'll go crash with his BM (who's coming with his fiance so I don't know how she'll feel about that) but who knew he was so old fashioned? I asked my fiance about this. He laughed and said we are only there for 5 night and he's spending all 5 night with me Then I talked to one of my bridesmaids and asked if my fiance could stay the night before the wedding with them, she laughed and said NO WAY MAN lol, they are only coming for the weekend and want those nights to themselves So there ya have it i guess..... I think your FI is sweet for being old fashioned
  20. Oh, i dont know what happen to my ticker... BUT im down to approx 21 days! AHHH.
  21. Well actually, IF you look on the karisma website, under weddings it actually says right on there, "have your wedding anytime you want, even midnight!" so, I think for the most part, alot of the packages are for 4 hours for the dj and maybe the are figuring in how long it takes for a 3or 4 or 5 course meal to be served for x amount of ppl... And i was told that there is a noise ordinance in the plaza area for approx 11pm. So my reception is in my contract for 7pm-11pm.
