I am so sorry I have been MIA. We are sooo busy right now with planning, moving, starting new jobs, and summer activities. I'm so excited to have another Marina el Cid bride to discuss with! We are in full swing planning right now, because our wedding is Nov 5th. We're about to send out the invitations and we already have 35 people booked, so it's moving right along. We haven't decided about the photographer yet. What did you think? Did you see any of the pictures? She send me some examples. They look good, not great. I have reached out to a couple of photographers in the area and I haven't heard much back from anyone. (I'm guessing that means they are booked?) We waited a while to get on the photographer thing, so we might not have any other options. I wish there were more brides, including some that have already had weddings, so we could ask them questions about food, decorations, events, etc. I really like Eva!! I also have the world's best travel agent (if you don't already have one). She has been AMAZING!! Plus she has been working with Eva a bunch and has gotten us really great deals! Where are you in planning? Have you thought of where you will have the reception? How you will decorate?? I would love to hear!

Hey!! I'm a Marina El Cid bride too! I would LOVE to share information? Have you visited the hotel? We went down to visit hotels, but we changed our hotel recently and so we haven't been to El Cid. I'm so excited to find another El Cid bride!!!

Hi girls! I am getting married on November 5th at Hotel Marina El Cid. You guys are WAY more organized that we are, but we're planning to get started with everything soon. We have outfits for everyone, people are already starting to book, but we have to send out invites, plan flowers, choose our menu, plan activities, and find a photographer, hair stylist, etc. Plus we need to choose our honeymoon location! That being said I would LOVE some suggestions on photographers, florists, activities (we wanted to charter a boat to take everyone on a sailing trip). You girls all seem to have done your homework. I'd love try to share decorations/photographers if that's an option. Our colors are black, white, cream, and peach. Any help would be amazing!! We've been engaged for a year at the end of the month and I feel like we've hardly done any planning...oops

Rachel, Thanks for the response. We eventually heard from her. She used to be so quick to respond and then once we seemed more certain about having our wedding there she seemed to change. Thanks for the advice about keeping everything. We have already had all of the prices change a couple of times and it's very frustrating. Also, she is now telling us things like they don't do wedding receptions at Sabor anymore (or it's not exclusive if they do). Has she changed anything when talking to you lately? I'm just getting a really bad feeling and I don't want to sign the contract until I feel more comfortable with the situation. Has she been helpful and/or easy to work with? Have you been able to negotiate anything with her? Sorry for all of the questions, but I just want to feel better about the resort! I do have pictures that I would absolutely send to you. Can I send them to you via this website or email?

My fiance and I are going through the process of signing the contract and putting down a deposit but we are starting to have some reservations. We went and visited and had a wonderful time, but there were somethings that were off. We loved Elba and thought she was great, but now she's not responding to our emails requesting pricing. I'm just getting concerned because we don't want to send out the save the dates (which we already have made) or sign the contract until we hear from her and get a better feeling about this whole thing. Now after reading the last review I'm even more concerned. I would appreciate anyone's thoughts. Also a confirmation that Elba is still the coordinator for the hotel. Thanks so much!

It is very cheap to book through them, I was just curious because, depending on where you are flying from it can be cheaper than that if you book with a package. Hello girls! I'm new to the forum, but excited that I have found this! We are hoping to have our wedding at PA Nov 2010. I have been in touch with Elba and she is so easy to work with! We are going there for a vacation this December so I would definitely send pictures and information to anyone who would like to see. Thanks for the info that I've read so far, but I do have a question that I was wondering if anyone knew. Do people have to book rooms on the hotel's website or can they book rooms through expedia/orbitz/etc.? If you buy a flight + hotel package on a travel website it's a GREAT deal. Much better than the prices that were quoted. I didn't know if the hotel would allow us to have no rooms blocked but 80 people at our wedding? Does anyone know? Thanks so much!!

Hello everyone and thanks for the great information that I've already read! I am usually somewhat internet savvy and I cannot seem to figure this place out! I am sure I'll get it with more practice . Anyway my name is Sarah and my fiance's name is David and we live in Minneapolis, MN. Our wedding is planned for Nov 5th 2010 at the Privilege Aluxes on Isla Mujeres, MX. We are visiting the hotel in December and would definitely send pictures and info to anyone who is interested in the hotel for their wedding, but can't make the trip.
