  1. Thats the same reason we decided to go with Dreams Punta Cana, because DPB didn't offer terrace receptions and i didn't want mine on the beach or inside the ballroom.

I know most brides enjoy this part and have a great time, I may be the only one who didn't lol.....

Thank you all! Hey Jenise, I will be doing a BD shoot, I'm not sure of the actually cost because I have 2 really close friends who are photographers who will be doing mine as a wedding gift. I will have to pay to get the book assembled thou and I haven't priced that just yet.

Thanks Tam, thats a great idea, my sister has 2 young kids who won't need a whole suitcase to them selves. that will work, although I still wish I didn't have to carry them down with me lol....
  11. I'm going to use the basic ivory rose I think and I may see how much it will cost to add some green orchids but for the BM's there caryying parasols and will not need bouquets
  12. they won't let you exchange anything for something else I have asked a couple times just to see if they would change there answer but they didn't lol......
  13. Hi Christine and welcome to the forum, you will love it and find so many helpful things on here. The dress you attached is beautiful. The reosrt has not taken my payment either and I booked over 9 months ago, they say they charge you when you get there. I do have conformation and good track record for my wedding date. I wouldn't worry too much, I think it all depends on your personal preference alot of us chose a destination wedding so it would be less stressful, more cost effective, and the wedding we've always wanted. for me personally I am bringing down a few things because I want it personalized with my own touch and the resort doesn't offer some of things I want or the color scheme I have in addition to it being cheaper to bring dwon what I want as oppose to paying the resort for the same things. A friend of mine got married in Aruba and all she brought was her programs, menu cards, and some favors and the resort did the rest and her wedding was beautiful. So I think its just depends on the bride. don't stress over it, the forum will have you creating and doing a whole lot of DIY projects and adding things that you may not have thought of. So it can be overwhelming at first but stick to what you feel comfortable with. We are all here to help and support each other. Toya
  14. Thanks Eliana, that is a great idea I didn't even know I could do that **jumping for joy*** and those are my colors too lol......
  15. Yeh I wish I didn't have to carry things like centerpieces down with me, thats the only thing I'm not looking forward to packing ceneterpeices, everything else will be ok to pack, plus I want alot of lighting at my reception so I have to figure out what I want to do and bring urghhhhhh !!!!!!!!
  16. Hey Tara, The IPOD thing is stress factor for me too because I am certainly no DJ lol.. but I think I am going to ask 1 of my DJ friends to hook my IPOD up for us or make a couple of CD's
  17. Yeh the list seems long but I just have to get motivated again, I got kinda lazy after the major things were done lol.... my color scheme and ideas were already picked so its just ordering stuff now, my colors are all tropical, (kiwi/lime green, aqua blue, and hints of pink). Ceneterprices I have an idea but haven't actually priced and put anything together, I wish I could get mine as cheap as Nat's cause her's are $4 per table. For favors I have no idea what I want to do , the flip flops are a cute idea and everyone could really use that, I will have to sit and think some more on what I want to do for favors.
  18. Ok OK I see I can't take a day off the site now, the DPC thread had been jumpin I gotta keep up like I used too lol..... I think I said welcome to all the new brides to the thread but just in case I didn't, WELCOME ! How exciting for all the April brides alot of you will be there at the same time and only a month and half away. eliana, thanks for the website with the lanterns, my BM's are using parasols instead of bouquets and I want to have paper lanterns but may not be able to because I have so many guest and the bordeaux terrace only holds 40 people, so unless my guest list drops that much my reception will be on the Hitmatsu terrace. I too will be using a IPOD just because it will save us money instead of paying for a DJ, plus we can all hit the disco after. We will be having a DJ for our AHR. As for me I think its time to get back in gear with some things on my to do list, before I know it 4 months will be here, some of my to do list as follows; - order chair sashes, table decor, cocktail napkins, cake topper, flower girl basket, ring bearer pillow) sand ceremony, wedding guest book, toasting flutes, cake cutter, centerpieces, etc.... - design and decide on programs and wording - design and decide on guest pre-travel packet, (welcome brochure, information etc..) - figure out and purchase favors - get my dress altered - get FI to get his suit - pick out BM's dresses and still alot more to do this is just some of the things I can actually remember right now hahaha...... Toya
