We are also getting married in June, but getting the legal part taken care of ahead of time. No one has asked and only our parents know, but if they do we're just telling them we're taking care of the "paperwork" ahead of time. We all are treating the symbolic wedding as the one and only. Photography is extremely important to us, so we wanted someone with a great eye. We are paying $2500 for 2 photographers (husband and wife team) to fly down and shoot our wedding and a couple other wedding related events. We basically paid for their travel/food/drinks/stay/etc, so I doubt they are making any money unfortunately- but hey, free vacation!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! We are getting married at the Elegance, but we are also using Yadilis and DJ Mannia. I have had a positive experience thus far with both, but it is always reassuring to see other brides' experiences. Best of luck!

Hi! We have done the Bavaro Runners full-day tour and that was great! Highly recommend! We have arranged a tour for our guests through them during our wedding week. We also have done the Buggy Tours-- it was okay, but I would not recommend it. The buggies are very loud, muddy (fun, but not combined with sunburn!) and there are several sales pitches along the tour- much less educational than Bavaro Runner. Good luck!

Hi, We are also getting married at the Elegance in June. We visited in November and had a great time- the grounds were lovely, and pools/beach great. We also have a couple children attending- the only area children are not permitted at the Elegance is the Elegance Club (and perhaps the Gourmand restaurant?) Yes you do have to pay the $50/day pass for the DJ.

Our wedding is in June 2010 and I am using DJ Mannia. I spoke with Yadilis two weeks ago re: Mannia and she is well aware and fine with us using him. I unsure if it is because our names are on "his list" but I have had no issues from anyone thus far.
