Tonight was just such a weird experience!  We had a witness, which was my mother and I thought that was kind of cool because she was there for the legal part of it.  We went over to the house of a Justice of the Peace here in town.  It was me, FI, my mom, and the JP.  We did the vows and the exchanging of the rings.  Then we were done.  It was all of about.....10 minutes, if that.  I do have a picture of my rings together.  My wedding band is now back in the box and in our safe.  I'm not going to lie....I really want to wear my wedding band!

    I just love it!!

So, when we got home, FI pulled out my Valentine's Day present...  Now, please realize that in the three V-day's FI and I have celebrated, I've only ever gotten one gift.  Our very first V-day he got me a single red rose, and said, I don't do V-day...so you probably won't get many other V-day gifts.  He just feels that it's a very commercialize holiday and doesn't need one day to show me that he loves me, and I accept that!  Anyway...  He got me a card, that was "For my Wife...."  and then got me another Pandora charm for my bracelet.  the charm was a heart, perfect for the whole day!

Tomorrow we'll go back to normal and I certainly won't feel any different, because I don't really at this point!

  2. Nice! Take it!

Now I just have to convince my fiance that it's a good idea to lose our deposit with our photographer in Jamaica.

Her work is fabulous. She's young and super creative and I loved working with her. She normally charges $3600 for a wedding here. Omg.

  3. Wow, I can't believe I actually got something done- on my birthday nontheless, lol! The pic is not that great from my camera phone, but this is a pic of FI's boutonniere (I still have to add a rhinestone when I get some):

  4. I got mine at Shoplet.com. They were 50 for $19.83.

  5. My wedding is at 5p. I managed to actually get some things accomplished last night. I ordered the rest of my meds for the OOT bags (by the way you ladies really need to check out Shoplet.com!), the holders & coils for my key card holders, my Jamaica bottle openers, and even limped around Hobby Lobby last night for some more real touch flowers. Now I just need to buckle down and tackle some projects this weekend. FI is taking me to dinner for my birthday so we'll see how much I actually get done!

  6. These are really cute and different- I haven't seen these before!

Here's how my mints turned out.  I just did simple black & white ..our colors are black, fuschia, and white so it will go with the theme well plus I am 90% sure I am using the starfish design on my other printed material.  The picture isn't great (a little blurry), but you get the idea.  I was going to put these in the OOT bags, but I am thinking about doing a "candy/cigar" table at our beach party & including these.  For the OOT bags, I am thinking about ordering black business cards from VistaPrint (probably for free LOL) with pink/white writing and putting a sweet candy on them to read something like "one sweet love" ..... This monogram was also on our invites, as well as, I have napkins & our real matchbooks with it printed on them.  This is the start of my DIY projects, so I am getting better

Apola-  I'm glad you're health has stabilized!  Scary stuff.

Queen Diva-  Keep after your PT like it's your job!  I had knee surgery 1 year ago, went back to work after 3 days, and if I didn't keep working on both my scar bands and range of motion, my knee got tight.  YES you'll be able to walk down the isle.  Just don't push yourself and keep doing your therapy:)

You are awesome! Thanks so much for the words of encouragement, it's nice to hear (I often think I'm talking to myself on this thread, lol). I am going to definitely take your advice- I haven't been doing what I'm supposed to- being so busy at work.

  10. Have you tried Etsy? They have some phenomenal birdcage veils & fascinators on there? I'm making my own, so I don't have any ideas of a place to get one in Chicago. As far as OOT bags, I've picked them out, but need to get a vecor logo to send the company for them. I've gotten some of the meds (motrin, pepto bismal, hydrocortisone for insect bites, etc). I'll be working on Welcome Books this weekend. I also got my puzzle books & some really cool Jamaican trivia playing cards.
