  1. If you were asking me, I got them from Etsy. They were a little expensive but I did not want to spend the time making them. Here are three people who are selling them. http://www.etsy.com/listing/51403639/custom-wedding-sand-unity-photo-frame?ref=sr_gallery_3&ga_search_query=unity+sand+frame&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&order=&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title http://www.etsy.com/listing/52445923/unity-sand-ceremony-frame?ref=sr_gallery_1&ga_search_query=unity+sand+frame&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&order=&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title http://www.etsy.com/listing/52439295/unity-sand-ceremony-frame-with-engraving?ref=sr_gallery_2&ga_search_query=unity+sand+frame&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&order=&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title
  2. We actually got married on my niece's 18th birthday. I had a tequila shot with her to celebrate her birthday. It was great. According to the store I bought the suit,"These lightweight wool suits feature an innovative fabric developed for NASA to keep you feeling cool and comfortable in any climate. With a lining made of Smart Fabric Technology by Outlast, it balances temperature and releases excess heat. In 2-button with center vent. Soft shoulders, fully lined. Pleated trousers are half-lined to the knee. Unfinished bottoms for altering ease. 100% wool. Dry clean. Imported. CLICK ON SWATCHES BELOW TO SEE COLOR CHANGE." So taking that into consideration, I kept my jacket on til nighttime. I never felt to hot and I enjoyed the ocean breeze. Don't get me wrong it was in the 80-90 range with no cloud in the sky but I wasn't sweating. If the gentlemen perspire alot, then they will be sweating a little throughout the ceremony but once night time happens the weather drops to a comfortable 65-75. Hope this helps and congratulations.
  3. You are hilarious, I love the taco bell comment. Yes I did all the invites, save the dates, and so forth myself. I created all my documents in a program called indesign. I do website design so I enjoy creating something out of nothing. I wanted to make sure my wife got the dream wedding of a lifetime and that she will remember that day for the rest of her life because I love her and she deserves it.
  4. Kristi was amazing and we almost didn't get her to do our wedding because I wrote down the wrong date in an email and she told us that she had a friend's wedding to go to and couldn't make it. I was off by one day and I wrote her back and that one day made a world of difference. She is so fun and we did three photo shoots with her. We flew to California and did an Engagement photo shoot with her. That was the best thing we could of done because we got amazing pictures and were able to meet her and feel a lot more comfortable on our wedding day (I have pictures if Anyone is interested). The second shoot was our wedding (the previous attached link). The final shoot was a Trash the dress but I have not seen any pictures of that amazing day. I highly recommend her.
  5. Thank you very much, I have a great feeling about your wedding day because that was the day I was born on. Congrats and Kelley is amazing. My wife was going to school and graduating a month after our wedding so I was in charge of planning the wedding. Every little detail was put onto my shoulders and luckily I had Kelley by my side.
  6. My wife and I got married on May 25th, 2010 at Las Caletas. We had the time of lives and suggest the location to anyone looking for a spectacular destination for a wedding. We wanted to share our wedding slide-show because we gained so much knowledge from the forum but we rarely posted because we were too busy lurking. We hope everyone enjoys, and if you have any questions feel free to ask. If I get a chance I will post a review of our destination wedding. Thank you. http://www.klkphotography-clients.com/slideshows/Lety_Ryan_WED/
  7. I have a couple of question about the boat ride. How long of a boat ride is it to Las Caletas and how rough is the water? I just found out that a couple of people get motion sickness and we are worried about the boat ride. Does anyone know of any remedies that can calm them down during the ride over. Thanks.
  8. We have booked our wedding at Las Caletas for May 25th 2010. We are extremely excited but we do not if we should keep the location a surprise or inform our guest of the location. We are having troubles picking a hotel for the entire group but we are open to suggestions. There will be approximately 60 people attending. The resort features that we are interested in are: quality food, nice pools, and an affordable all-inclusive resort. In addition, we are looking for a photographer. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
  9. Hello, We are very interested in Las Caletas for our wedding but we are a little confused on pricing. Does the premier (platinum) package include dinner in the price or is that extra. I thought I read the package included dinner but when I fill out the request form in states $50 per person for dinner. Does anyone know anything about this? What would be the best day to have a wedding at Las Caletas? Are there less tourist on some days versus others? Thank you.
  10. Have you considered asking people what songs they prefer. My fiance and I always enjoy the Casper slide. That song usually gets a group of people on the dance floor. Good luck.
  11. We have come across several wedding websites and are trying to narrow it down to one that we like but there are so many. One of the sites we really like and are considering using is www.wedsite.com . The wedding page seemed priced fairly and had very unique features that made it entertaining to browse. Check it out and tell me what you think?
  12. Well there has to be a first for everything right? We were so excited, thought we found the perfect place but cost was the uninvited guest. We were planning on getting married at the Xcaret Park but after getting a quote from the park we clearly realized that the place was not for us. I thought a 20000 dollar budget was enough for a destination wedding but it looks like it will cost a lot more if you want it to be different. I know we can have a beach wedding and spend less money than that but we were looking for something different and fell in love with the Xcaret Park. In addition we went there for a first year anniversary of dating so it was special but the minimum guest list and the cost of extras were too high. I will definitely look for the budget template, thank you.
  13. It appears we will send them out to everyone just in case if an aunt or uncle may want to go, you never know. Just the hard decision of now picking a place so we can make the invitations. It is taking forever for some of the resorts to reply. Thanks for all your responses and I hope to get a response shortly.
  14. How did you get a group rate on the flight and hotel? Did you contact the resort or the transportation? If your guest are all staying at the same resort is it best to contact the resort or use a travel agency to get a group rate? Congrats on the price, I am trying to find a deal like that for our group but we will be in the Cancun/Rivera Maya area.
  15. If you are having a destination wedding, should you invite everyone or just the people you know will come? We are getting married in Mexico and our immediate families will definitely come (About 40 people) but should we invite extended family even know they probably won't go. Is it proper wedding etiquette to invite everyone and just wait for a response? Would it be considered a waste of money to send out an extra 150-200 invitations to people that might or might not travel to Mexico for our wedding? On another side note does anyone have a good suggestion for company or do it yourself invitations for destination wedding? Thanks.

The only issue we have is how much we want to spend on a wedding. We want it to be magical but do not want to break the bank. My fiance is busy with school and work so I do a lot of research to help us decide how we want our wedding so I guess that makes me a groomzilla j/k. Thanks everyone for the congrats and we hope to find a lot of useful information.
  18. My name is Ryan and my fiance name is Lety. We are from Chicago IL and are trying to find a perfect destination wedding in Mexico. Her father lives in Mexico so we are looking for locations down there. We are considering the Xcaret Park for the special day but no date has been set yet. Still trying to get information on price (which I heard may be expensive) and availability. Just wanted to say hi and any information would be appreciated. Thank you.
