  1. The runner came with the package decorations. The chair sashes I bought off ebay for about 50 cents each. Â It does take along time to serve dinner. However, we danced our buts off! We had a blast. It was the best reception I have ever been too and it was mine! We stayed busy the whole time. We did our speeches, the dances, the tosses in between the courses. We only paid the Dj for the last 2 hours. We had the steel drum for the first hour and the Zuriamaka Show (which is inner active with your group) for the second. We only rented the Blue Lagoon for 4 hours but we ran over almost an hour and no one said a word. In fact they seemed almost disappointed when we ready to leave. It was off the hook. They really took care of us! Entertainment is very important for the reception. I say yes to the DJ, but I would only pay him for the time you are going to use him and use the left over money for other entertainment. The Zuriamaka show is very expensive $750, but it was so worth it! Â
  2. The Grand Palladium uses the house Steel Drum Band for the weddings. They are awesome. They played songs like, "I got a feeling" by Black Eyed Peas, Pockerface by Lady GaGa. They will play whatever you like. If you search on you tube for Grand Palladium Steel Drum, you can hear them. They use a small version of the band for weddings. I think it was 5 players. My guests raved about how good they are. I am so glad we had them play. It really set the mood. They were playing as we arrived at the reception. Just the sound, made the atmosphere feel so fun. Â Just wanted to add that when I was planning my wedding, I had a hard time spending $500 for an hour for the steel drum. Other resorts were charging $300. I did not understand why it was so much more. I realized it was because, it was a band, not just a player. Â If you Ladies need anything and I can help. I will. Just ask away!

  4. Jerseykitten it is very pretty!! I can't hardly wait to go change my name officially!
  5. Just wanted to let everyone know I received my marriage certificate today. It only took 25 days.
  6. 1. The cake they provide is not fancy. It is very basic. It tasted very good. We had the vanilla sponge. It was 2 tier. They used a wine glass to hold up the second layer. It was my understanding they would put flowers on it for you. Other brides had commented that the flowers did not match their colors. I decided to just add them to my flower order, so they would. I am glad that I brought my own decorations for the cake. Most guest did not eat cake. We had plenty. There were 32 of us. They put the small flower arrangement from the signing table on the cake table. I did not upgrade this arrangement. It was tiny. The frosting melts pretty fast in the heat. I did not box up the cake. Â 2. My understanding is that they put small candles on the guest tables and place the flower arrangements (2 12" round arrangements) from the ceremony on the head table. Not positive about this because I went crazy with Tai Flora. I had flowers everywhere! Â 3. I greet my guests as they arrived with their OOT bags. Â . I think I covered most of this in 1. I had a private reception so I never asked about when they would serve the cake. Â 5. They did supply the cake cutter. It had a white ribbon on it. Â 6. I did not mail anything. Â
  7. I did not have any issues. We flew American airlines. They allow you to check 2 bags and have 1 carry on plus a personal item. Â
  8. Thank you. I saw the beach set up while I was there. It is very pretty. There was an arch with two plate size arrangements and white covered chairs for the guests. We had 32 people at the Blue Lagoon. The entertainment helped to fill the time between courses. I am sure without the entertainment to distract us, we would have noticed the time it was taking. Everything seemed to fly by, because we were having so much fun. Before I knew it, our time was up. They never said a word about us staying later. I am sure the tipping helped!
  9. I just got back from Jamaica, last friday. We walked up and down the streets in Negril with NO Problem.
  10. Just wanted to let everyone know, that almost every guest wore their bracelet!! They were a big hit!!
  11. I am back from the most amazing wedding and reception ever. I am very happy we picked the Grand Palladium. They did an amazing job. Here is a mini review for you. I will do a longer one when I get my pro pics in about 3 weeks. Nina was my WC. She was very organized and happy to help. When I gave her my stuff, she marked it all with the appropriate information. On the wedding day it was all perfect. I even gave her decorations and a sketch of how I wanted the cakes to be set up. It was perfect. I give her an A++++. I ordered the flowers directly from Tai Flora. Ky-an was my last rep from Tai Flora. She did a great job. The flowers were twice as big, and as beautiful, as I expected. They met and exceeded my expectations. I give them an A+. The reception was off the hook! The food and service were excellent. The entertainment was awesome. We had the steel drum band for an hour. I thought we were getting a player, not a 5 piece band! They were great. Then we had the Zurielamaka show. It was interactive with my guests. It was the best decision ever! Everyone raved about it. We had a DJ for the last two hours. He was very good. A+ to them all!!!! The resort is beautiful. They made our event perfect. I am very pleased with the outcome. With that said, I had a few negatives about the resort, not the wedding or reception. It was perfect. The beds are very hard and uncomfortable. The worst I have ever experienced! The wifi is very bad on the Lady Hamilton side, but better on the Jamaica side. It took 3 1/2 hours to serve a group dinner for 18. The only one of these issue that really mattered was the beds. I still would not have changed a thing. I will write a full review in about 3 weeks.
  12. I am back from my wonderful Honeymoon at the Tensing Pen. It was amazing. Most of the time it felt like the staff was there just for us. We can not wait to return. Here is a link to some pics of the resort. Tensing Pen There are a couple of one of the wedding sites. The Tensing Pen is the definition of peaceful. I loved it.

If you see Marvette or Andrea at Catcha tell them Lisa ( the bride andrea has been emailing), wants your opinion . Here are my thoughts. I think catcha is very nice. The food was the best I have eaten in Jamaica. I did not see the ceremony site. I think a reception by their pool would be beautiful. However, if it were my wedding, I would choose the tensing pen. It has a rustic beauty that is untouchable.

All of the hidden fees at Tensing are killing me. Shanique sends me the following confusing message: 1. It is my understanding that there are additional fees per person: $10/per person for a set up fee and $7/ per chair cover. Is this correct? Should I be adding an additional $17 per person? The costing for the set up and break up fee is subject to change depending on the final number of your wedding party. The costing for the chairs, chair covers and bows is US$7 per person. I can tell you that the Tensing Pen is beautiful. I just went and looked at the wedding location. It is awesome. This place is the most relaxing place I have ever been. We are having dinner at Catch a Falling Star tonite. I will post my thoughts about the location later tonite.
  15. I am honeymooning at the Tensing Pen right now. It is a beautiful place. You guys will be very happy here.
  16. I just got married yesterday. It was so perfect. It was more than I expected. I will post more when I get home. All I can say is WOW!

Supplies needed: Shell beads - Michael's Wood beads - Michael's Hemp cord - Michael's 2 different color card stocks - Michael's Craft glue stick - Michael's small hole punch - Michael's scotch tape - walmart Steps: 1. Cut hemp cord 10" long. You need 2 per bracelet. 2. Fold hemp cord in half making a loop. 3. Feed the open ends through the hole on shell bead and loop in hemp. 4. Pull hemp tight. 5. Feed ends through Wood bead. 6. Tie hemp in knot next to the wood bead. 7. Twist hemp tightly it should hold it shape. 8 . Repeat steps 2-7 for the other side. 9. Print the saying on the card stock.
