  2. Our TA is giving us a discount of $30.00 / person form the current advertised price (assuming we meet the minimum 10 person quota). I'm concerned that the price may infact drop and groups don't qualify for the price drop protection. My question is , is it more beneficial to book using group rates or have the guests books individually? My concern is, that if they wait too long - what if there are not enough rooms or seats? At least with a group rate we can secure up to 30 seats BUT if they book individually they can opt in for Price Protection.
  3. WOW - I didn't even think of that ....we're being offer every 21st adult free . I was entertaining the idea of applying this to our guests prices but selfishly I think I'll be applying it to our wedding costs
  4. How are you all handling your invites? Are you including rate information with your invitation in addition to info about the hotel?

If you are like me getting blood taken leaves MASSIVE black and blue marks and doesn't look very pretty especially in wedding photos. My soultion: Las Vegas the minister and marriage license is $115 and you can get the license and walk across the street to the Justice of the Peace and get married 35 seconds later. MUCH easier than dealing with all of the legal stuff in Mexico! Of course if Las Vegas isn't your style you could always find out the local marriage license in your area and go and get married at the court house! Thks. I never thought of possible bruising

Thks. for your reply Heather When in Cabo, did you exchange vows, rings etc.? Did your guests know that they were witnessing a symbolic wedding?
  8. Can someone explain the logistics of being married legally in your own country AND then getting "married" again as part of the destination wedding?? Thks.
  9. Hi all; I wanted some help on legal dates vs. "Cabo" wedding dates. I've seen a few avatars that list legal dates (of weddings) and Cabo dates. If you are marrying in your home country/town , how are you still permitted to be married again?! Are you renewing vows?? Thks.

  11. Hello all, I've been scouring this forum for over 6 months but it seems I still can't view attachments so here I am. I'm trying to secure a date in March 2010 for Moon Palace but at present, the date I want only has times in the AM. I want a late aft., early evening wedding but MP says it's too dark @ 5pm . We'll see .....
  12. I've been researching destination weddings for over 6 months now. I still haven't been able to confirm a date or a venue BUT if I can secure MP , I think It's the right choice. My only problem is ,is that the day I'd like in March 2010 is already booked - my first inquiry was for a 5pm wedding but Palace Resorts says its too dark @ that time !!! Are there any 5pm brides out there that got married in March
  13. I'm trying to secure a 5pm wedding in Mexico for March 2010, but the wedding co-ordinator is advising that they don't book weddings after 4pm because it will be too dark for pictures. Does anyone have any experience with this? At this time, they only have a 12pm wedding available - 12pm wedding on the beach will be very uncomfortable for everyone Thanks.
  14. Does anyone know of a link or photoblog that shows samples of their beach weddings and receptions? Thks.
  15. Does anyone know if Elizabeth Medina is still an "active" wedding photographer? I sent an email with a few different dates in 2010. She said she was booked, I asked her to send available dates as our wedding date has still to be confirmed and I'd be willing to work with her availability - I'm still waiting for her reply. My best friend is also getting married in Mexico in 2012 !! She inquired about a weekday in Sept. 2012....and she claims she's booked already !! I've also read a few posts and the common response is "I'm already booked for your date".
  16. Sigh............. I've been engaged for 6 months now !! I do not have a date , I do not have a venue. I'm very disappointed in friends/family We've considered going away , just the 2 of us. But then thought it would be nice to have close family, friends. I feel guilty not having at least our parents there. I've also asked my bridesmaids to participate (already) and feel bad if I didn't invite them. I've been between a destination wedding and a local wedding for the entire 6 months. Not a day goes by that I don't commit to at least 2-3 hours /day (after working a full day) researching different ideas. Although we'd like to have a wedding here, we'd rather put the cost of a wedding toward a new home and can't justify spending $30,000 on a wedding at this time in our lives. I know, I know , we'll probably get it back BUT what if we don't. Sooo we started looking at destination weddings. I was trying to find a resort that was "reasonable" in price but still had all the amenities to offer. I "introduced" the idea to close friends/family and some of them have expressed that due to finances they cannot attend should we decide to go away. These were the very same people that encouraged us to go away. Everyone keeps saying "it's your day, do it your way" , of course I want all of our friends/family share in our day - I know I'm not going to please everyone I just never knew it would be hard. So we're thinking again about doing something ALONE -without all the added stress.
