Hi Everyone, I'm about to book my photographer (Citalli from Claudia Rodriguez photography), I inquired about doing a TTD session the following day and she quoted me 1000$ USD for about 2 hours of work. Is this the going rate for the TTD sessions? I thought it was a bit pricey considering I am paying close to 4000$ USD for the previous day...plus I am canadian and our exchange rate sucks so $4000 USD for me is 4500$.... I have already asked her for a package deal...still waiting for her response. Otherwise, does anyone know who I can book for a TTD session only at a cheaper price? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I'm about to book my DJ for the reception, for those who had DJ Mannia, how long did you book him for? He sent me the contract and it states for 4 hours of work, is that enough time? I know that according to the wedding guide, outdoor receptions must end by 10:30...is that really true? I am asking because my ceremony is at 3pm, so I'm guessing my reception will start around 6pm, the DJ will play from 6-10? What about the rest of the time after that?

I hired Luxe Destination Events and the wedding coordinator there, Lisa, is the one who has been in communication with Aurora, our wedding coordinator at Dreams Tulum. I just left Lisa a voicemail asking why we didn't have to put down a deposit when other couples are being asked to do it. Very weird indeed! I looked in the wedding guide of 2009, and it is does state new payment policy and deposit, perhaps when you booked it was not required at that time. I do believe that the $500 will be deducted from the final balance. In any case, you shouldn't have any problems! Your wedding is already all planned! Good luck! Don't forget to write a review and post some pics for the rest of us anxious bride-to-be's!!! Take care! Jessica

What package are you having? I have the Ultimate pakg and I had to put a $500 USD deposit to secure my date and to get that all important confirmation #. This is strange....

I'll be working on it this weekend and hopefully will get the date finalized! We're flexible so we could always have the wedding on a different Saturday, but I agree, it would be nice to meet up if our celebrations are on the same day Did you choose a time for your ceremony? We're expecting about 25 guests so will likely do the reception at an outdoor location and avoid the private event fee... I think the pool terrace is considered an "outdoor" option. I like that idea. Hi! I finally got my official confirmation from Aurora! That all important confirmation # is safely stored in my e-mail inbox LOL! I chose 3pm, at the gazebo on the south end of the beach. (Beside the seaside grill). As for my reception, my first thought was to have it at the adult (relax) pool, but after seeing some photos, I am worried that it will be too dark. The pool does not appear to be lit? Also, there does not seem to have a lot of place to set up for a dj or even to dance....plus with about 25 guests, not a lot of space for tables! Therefore I think my first choice will have to be the activity pool. It seems to be more spacious. Plus I can decorate the area (pillars, bridge) with tulle and flowers and lights etc... I am so excited to finally start the planning!!! If you are flexible with the dates than there is no problem! You have the xtra time than to safely send your info. I have wanted to reserve this date for so long now! It was difficult because I had a lot of restrictions! I was actually supposed to have my wedding in January 2010 but had to push the date to June because my FI is finishing up his residency and doing his final board exams at the end of May, plus he is Chinese so we had to set our date according to the Chinese calendar (for good luck) and, as if all that was not enough, we are moving at the beginning of July 2010, to another province so that he can do a fellowship (sub-sub specialty in his field) So many life changes at one time!!! All I can say is Bring it on!!! Let me know when you decide your date!

So, our date is not confirmed yet Oh No! I hope she gets back to you soon! I hope everything still works out! I was looking forward having a bride buddy to meet up with! How many people are you expecting to have attend? I was a bit disappointed because I had wanted a prived event at the seaside grill (extra $750 fee) but since I am expecting less than 50 ppl, I can't have it there Keep me posted!

Apparently I'm suuposed to scan our credit card and IDs but I don't know the appropriate way to get that info to her. Thanks in advance Hi! It seems like we are having our wedding the same day!! Have you already sent off your request for the date yet? Congrats! See you there!!

Hello everyone, I am presently looking for a string trio and harpist for my ceremony at Dreams Tulum. Has anyone had a string trio (not mariachi, not guitar) I would like violins and viola. If possible I would like a harpist as well. Does anybody know where I can find them? Thanks!

Hi Ladies, I just opened an e-mail from Aurora telling me that I cannot have a private event at the seaside grill if we are less than 50 people!? I don't understand why, if we are paying for the private event and if it is available (depending on occupancy of hotel) why can't I have it She said I can still have it there but not "private". Does that mean I can't hav decorations and a D.J? This sucks! Has anyone had their reception by the adult pool? Can we have DJ and decorations there? I don't know if there is even enough space to dance! I am now freaking out over this! I don't understand why 50 people or 30 people makes such a difference when I am paying thr private fee anyway..... What can I do?

Hey everyone, I just got my price quotes from my TA and I am a little shocked a what she came up with. Apparently she states that it will cost $2800 per person (based onndbl occ.) and $1600 for children...I have looked on websites like "expedia" and for the same week in 2009 a year before my wedding, they have quoted 1500 includung tax. Now this was before the swine flu pandemic so it had no role on the price. Out of curiosity, how much are your TA'S quotes My guests will definately not want to attend at close to $3000 a person..... I'm so confused......

Thanks for letting me know! I thought it was included in the ultimate package. I will check out the website for the bows. I remember reading somewhere on the forum info on what decorations to bring. I am planning to have my reception at the seaside grill. From what I have read, it is much cheaper to brink my own decor from home. Does anyone know where I can find out that info? Thanks!
