  2. MAC is great for the shadows and lipstick, but I am in LOVE with Makeup Forever HD foundation. Top it off with their HD powder and your face looks and feels amazing! I think you should have a couple of trials with different counters and/or artists. Each have their own style. Most importantly, make sure you fell great about it. I have seen too many brides look uneasy about their makeup because they think the artist knows best. Make sure you feel radiant and it will show on your wedding day!
  3. Yeah, I thought it was just a Filipino tradition. It has occurred at almost every wedding I have attended, but since everyone is traveling so far for our wedding, we may not have it. The nice part of it is that you get one on one time with your guests. And the money that you collect is to be used for your honeymoon.
  4. Hi! I reserved the Maui Tropical Plantation for the ceremony and reception. The setting is beautiful and the food is reasonable. Good luck in your search!
  5. It was great to click on this page and have a whole list of options for the music and sound for my wedding. Thank you!
  6. Welcome! I just joined as well and plan on getting married this november. I don't know if you have a set date, but I set my wedding on a weekday since people are traveling to Maui for my wedding, and anyday is a good day in Maui! I have only been planning for 2.5 weeks, but I already have the venue booked and I am assuming I should not have problems booking the other services. Happy planning!
  7. I know this message is really delayed since I just joined the forum, but thank you for the info! My family has a timeshare in Kihei, so I am looking for places that my friends can stay that would be close to us.
  8. Hi! I was having the same dilemma. Luckily, I have one sister and she will be my MOH. My future husband has 2 brothers and they will be the BM(s). We are getting married in Maui and are expecting at least 75 people, but we did not want to deal with a big entourage. I have some really supportive friends whom I am planning on incorporating into the ceremony, such as presenting the symbolic gifts or doing a reading. Make your own rules and do what feels right for you.
  9. Thank you for all of the warm welcomes everyone! I just wanted to share that I was able to connect with our contact at the Maui Tropical Plantation and gave her my deposit. It's really happening! I can't believe that within 2.5 weeks of being engaged, we were able to decide on a date, location, VENUE, and book it! My future husband even drove us to Paper Source and suggested we look at invitations and choose our theme colors. I am feeling very accomplished, but I don't want to lose this momentum! I know we should send out STDs since we decided to get married in 9 months! Any suggestions on where I can find a template or order vintage-like old hawaii postcards?
  10. Hi! My name is Vanessa and I just got engaged last month and we are getting married Nov. 18, 2009 in Maui. I am so excited to join this forum!
