  1. I am also having my wedding at Olowalu this July and I agree completely with what SydneyFitz says above. You need to have a wedding planner if you decide to go with Olowalu.
  2. I went to Pearl Bridal House in Mississauga to look. The service was good and the store very nice but prices are very high. I think that the lowest price I saw was $3000+.
  3. Everything looks beautiful! Congrats - it is coming soon!
  4. Hi Chamlo, We are getting married in Maui and are planning on giving cookies from the Hololulu Cookie Company as favours. They are in super-cute pineapple shapes! Honolulu Cookie Company - Shortbread Specialist
  5. Love it! I like that it is light and flowy but still has a slimfitting bodice so you wouldn't be hidden under the chiffon.
  6. Thanks for the suggestions ladies. I think that I am also going to look into white/ivory bridesmaid dresses as an option.
  7. Hi Ladies, I am having trouble finding the right dress for my oceanfront wedding next July. I was aiming for a classic, casual, steamlined look, but everything I see in the stores seems to be too formal or is chifon and flowy but makes me look like I am hiding something. I am looking for a something a little more slimfitting. I do like some dresses from the wtoo line, Sandals, and Nicole Miller. They are simple yet have some fun details. The catch is that I want to keep the cost below $1500. Also, I live in Toronto, so if there are any specific store suggestions that would be extra helpful! Any suggestions on other designers would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  8. Hi Bambi06, We are having our wedding at Olowalu. Since everything needs to be brought in individually I recommed using a wedding coordinator to help you. They will be able to share with you suggestions for keeping costs down. I feel that the investment you make in your WC is well worth it. We are using Lori from Tropical Maui weddings. In regards to the tent, we are considering renting a "just in case it rains" tent to be setup around the side of the house. A basic tent with room for approx. 50 to dine costs around $500. I hope that helps!
  9. I really think both are beautiful and you can't go wrong with either one, but my personal preference is #2.

  11. Thanks everyone for the advice. I have decided to go with the Olowalu and while it is quite a bit pricier, I am happy with my decision in the end. I too am working with Lori Scott and so far she has been great! Note: for anyone considering the Olowalu (or any other private estate I assume) remember the benefit of being able to bring in your own alcohol versus a restaurant. If you have a lot of guests that will be drinking you will really save a lot on the alcohol costs.
  12. Thank you both for the time suggestions. Much appreciated.
  13. Hi Ladies, I have been looking into booking the Seawatch restaurant for my 2010 wedding, but have been drawn into all the beautiful photos of the Olowalu Plantation House. Have any of you had a wedding there or looked into it as an option? I know that comparitively the price is going to be much higher than Seawatch since everything needs to be rented individually. Any information you can share would be greatly appreciated!
  14. Hello, I am currently looking into booking my wedding ceremony and reception at the Seawatch restaurant and am hoping some past Seawatch-brides can help me with my questions... What time do you suggest to have the ceremony to give ample time for photographs before dinner? I would also appreciate dinner start time suggestions. Also, what do the guests do while photographs are being taken? Thank you in advance!
  15. Love the dress - congrats on taking a 'green' approach to your wedding!
