Thanks girls! I have been looking in magazines and on line at different styles but I seem to have trouble really nailing down a style that I like....I find a style that I think I want and the come across something completely different and change my mind! I'm a bit worried now but am keeping my fingers crossed that I find "the dress" soon!

We're also bringing our own photographer. I agree with VaraderoBride and Melidell - just start searching the forum, online, facebook etc and I'm sure before you know it you will have found the perfect photographer for your wedding! Good luck in your search! :-)

My fiance and I have been together for years and I honestly never thought he would propose!! Last year, we took a trip to NYC for New Years with a group of friends and one night he convinced us all to go to the Empire State Building. After waiting for over an hour just to get to the last line before the top, it was announced that since there were so many people waiting, it would be about another hour wait just to go up. At this point, we were running out of time as we had a bus to catch to go back to our hotel so we had to decide to stay or go. Just as we were deciding this, they made another announcement - if anyone wanted to take the stairs (something like 6 flights?) they they could! People just started jumping the line and running for the stairwell! Quickly, we jumped the line and ran too! Once on the top, we all separated to take in the amazing view of the city. My fiance and I cozied up (it was the end of December and cold!) to admire the view and next thing I knew there was a ring before my eyes! I was so shocked that I had to ask him if it was for real and if he was serious! haha Once the initial shock wore off, I of course said YES!!! For me, it was the most romantic and most perfect proposal! I couldn't be happier and can't wait until we're Mr & Mrs!!

Dated for 9 years before he popped the question! It wasn't something I ever thought was going to happen so talk about being shocked when it finally did! haha Together now for a little over 10 years! :-)

Ummm...I don't have a dress yet - should I be worried?? We're getting married April 27, 2010 and I'm not even close to having a dress! My friends and I have a wedding dress shopping date planned for November and I have looked at some local shops but haven't found anything here. We have the resort booked and people are slowly booking (why do so many people wait until the last minute!), once everyone is booked I'm going to co-ordinate with Belkis on the restaurant, wedding location, etc. We opted not to send STDs and have been using our website for most of our communication with friends and family. Also, I think we are going to keep things fairly simple and not bring any center pieces or extra decorations so that's one less thing to worry about. But should I be worried that I don't have a dress yet? After reading all these threads I feel like I'm forgetting stuff!

Thanks for all the responses! We've decided that two weeks really is the best idea - a week with all our friends and family and then a week to just enjoy ourselves as newlyweds!! :-)

We're getting married at the Iberostar Varadoro the end of April 2010 and are debating on whether we should stay the one week or two. We were really hoping to stay 10 days so that we would have a couple of extra days to ourselves but unfortunatly, the only options are 7 days or 14 days. I fear if we stay we'll be ready to come home before the 2 weeks is up but if we don't stay,than we will be wishing we did! Any other brides out there stay for 2 weeks?? Thoughts? Recommendations?

Thanks Amarillis! I've sent an email to Belkis today to get the ball rolling. Does anyone have any suggestions on which gazebo location is best (ie more private and quiet setting)? We're expecting about 20+ people to join us there so it likely would have to be between the pool or beach gazebo.

We've just booked IV for April 2010 and are ecstatic! This was the resort we really really wanted but were scared it might be over the "budget"! We found a great deal and couldn't be happier! I do have a question though - how far in advance should I contact Belkis to make arrangements (ie gazebo, restaurant, etc)?

Hi all! What a great site! My fiance and I have decided that a destination wedding is the ideal wedding for us and have been looking mostly at destinations in Cuba. We're hoping for March 2010 and I can't wait! A bit overwhelming with all the choices but hopefully we will be able to weed out some of the choices and find the perfect resort for us!
