Hey girls, Feels like I haven't been on here forever, however I do look at the emails I get to my phone although they don't always include every new post I've realized many brides are doing the reception at the Himitsu Beach -- I told Claudia "beach" for reception and never specified which one b/c from pics it always seemed like the one by the Tower. Can anyone tell me the difference and why everyone prefers the Himitsu Beach?

Wow beautiful! Thanks for the review! Everything was so detailed and personalized i love it! Congrats

Take care, Tori Thanks Tori, & thanks Abbie for the pics -- definitely much better than I've been imagining.

I saw a video-album by Elizabeth Medina of a wedding that took place in the ballroom. It was absolutely gorgeous! I think it was like Michelle and Steve -- I used to watch it all the time b/c I'm having a Jewish ceremony like the couple in the video. The ballroom is big and pretty & could be decorated very nicely. But if you're worried about sand, maybe the garden would be good-- it's on grass and it's so pretty and overlooking the water.

Hey, so the gazebo is different now? It's no longer surrounded on 3 sides by water? Also, is there no longer the private beach by the gazebo? I've just realized everyone has been talking about the Himitsu Beach... I'm worried b/c the reason I fell in love w/ Dreams was for the gazebo & now I want to cry if it looks really different... Also, my mother just informed me that a few guests are staying at another hotel. If we want to go to Azucar after the reception, does anyone know how much they would have to pay? Thanks in advance!

Congrats, welcome, & happy planning. I am getting married at Dreams Cancun so I am totally biased. Check out the Dreams Cancun-Questions for Those Married There thread. It's a great hotel w/ a beautiful wedding gazebo. Good luck w/ your decision!

Only married 7 weeks and heading for divorce :(

Wow, this is so terrible. I am so sorry! I don't know what else to say. I mean, I would say sit down with him and talk to him about this or maybe even talk to that home wrecker... but the most important part of a relationship is trust & you might not be able to trust him anymore. You have to do what your heart tells you, though, and not listen to anyone else. I am so sorry. Please let us know what you're going to do, and how you are doing. We are all hear for you. Michelle -
Hey, we're getting married at Dreams Cancun on June 10th! I'm almost all set - have my dress, shoes, veil, & picked out centerpieces & bouquets and stuff. I can't wait! Good luck planning everyone

Hey guys, Thanks for all the honeymoon spots--I'll google them all and speak to my TA. Soo excited. I stayed in RM in August & FI and I walked to Maroma Beach (lots of exercise and rocks on the way lol). It was absolutely beautiful. We saw Maroma Resort & Spa on the travel channel where they raved about the beach so we wanted to check it out. The beach was gorgeous but the hotel is super expensive so I'm happy I have some more options to look at now.. & Congrats Sunitam!!! Can't wait to see your review & so happy your wedding day was so amazing!

Girls, I have a q. I know this might be somewhere on the thread, but where have you all either taken or will book your honeymoons? We want to stay in Mexico but take a cab to Riviera Maya or Playa Carmen to an adults-only honeymoonish hotel. I've booked Dreams for a week so far but we haven't booked our honeymoon yet. Any ideas?

Its a tad bit frustrating but what can I do.... (sorry had to vent a little) Speaking of venting... I sent Claudia an email last night w/ my wedding date in the subject line so that she'd know who I was. I was so excited that she responded today answering all my questions until I saw that in the subject line she'd added an "isn't it June 12?" I changed my date months ago and she'd okayed it; all my last emails have my new date in the subject line, she'd even forwarded me an email she sent to her co workers with my new date; my entire family has booked already-- and now she wants to scare me! I'm like binge eating until she responds again.

She'll show it to the florist & I'm sure it could be done. Just send it soon and don't wait to the last minute in case they have to be ordered from somewhere. She'll give you a price quote, too.

Maria's Dreams Cancun Review - Pic Heavy

OMG everything looked great! I love your setup and am so glad it worked out and you had it on the beach. So nice of them to set up in the ballroom also and try to accommodate you as best as possible. You were a beautiful bridee and congratssss! -
I'm sorry I'm like flooding the wall... but I'm just looking through all the last pages I've missed because I just finished finals so now I'm free to plannn =) ... I'm trying to think of all my q's so I don't keep hijacking the wall. 1) about the bows, we're having our cocktail hour- then ceremony- then reception -- has anyone done that, and if so, do you think they'll be be able to take the bows from the ceremony fast enough to the reception or should we get double? 2) has anyone picked out their menus? Is it too late to pick it out once we've arrived? 3) How long in advance should we tell Claudia what cake, centerpieces and bouquet we've picked out? I basically know what I want but is it too soon to tell her? 4) For receptions on the beach, has anyone done a light-up dance floor w/o a dj? Two of my guests (a husband and wife) are musicians so they'll be singing and performing...how big is the sound system, is it enough for wedding singers? (I don't even know if I'm making sense, but you get the gist right lol?) 5) Has anyone done the catamaran or like pirate ship dinner thing for guests? I don't want anything too expensive but I figure that'll be a cool rehearsal dinner or after wedding event (in Russian weddings, we do a 2nd day thing instead of a rehearsal usually). Also, if I do something like that, do I still need like big goodies for all the guests or are like fans or something like that enough? 6) I think in the package it says that we get like 15% off in the spa --can we use that for our bridesmaids hair do's--has anyone paid for their bridesmaid's hairdo's? Is there a point? 7) For people who have gone there... is there like some kind of deal if lots of guests want to go to a club outside of the resort? I remember when I was there it was like $40 per person...has anyone gone w/ a big group and had the price reduced to like just price of bottles or something like that (clubs here, if we buy bottles we don't have to pay an admission fee). I'll be thinking of more Q's, for now work on these PLEASE lolll =) Thanksssssssss <3

Good idea by the way to do a session the day before - however I think my photographer will be there the day before to do pictures as well. Not sure what to do with the Dreams photographer. Hey, I told Claudia we wouldn't be using their photographer or videographer b/c we're flying ones out but that they're our relatives and would be guests at the hotel and she didn't say anything about it, so I'm pretty sure its fine. Say they're relatives & guests. Instead I think we can get gazebo decor or maybe extra centerpieces. I think for credit, its easier when we're just there discussing the contract to bring in a list of what is included in the package and show her what you're using and not using and in person be like okay, what can we get for this? It's too difficult to do everything online. I used to email Claudia everyday and bug out and get so angry when I wouldn't get a response but she's super busy (they have weddings all the time and she like pays more attention to the weddings that are coming up). -Michelle

I thought a/b using my wedding dress b/c what else would you do with it, right?? But I just don't think that I can trash it I saw another brides TTD with del Sol (which is amazing but WAY out of our price range), and her dress looked really good in the water and it was only $100 from Victoria's Secret!! Here's the link: 06.26.09 Yean and Kyle | Trash the Dress | Photos by Vincent Wow, I love her dress. That's a really good idea, I will definitely have to get another dress for the TTD. I actually think my TTD might be like before my wedding lol...is that wierd? My photographers are coming from Monday-Friday morning (I think) and my wedding is Thursday... Where are the TTDs done in Dreams? Like on which beach? Is everyone like staring while you do it?
