  1. If it helps, I wanted to try on a Maggie dress that my bridal shop didn't carry. They are VERY helpful at my salon and told me about a policy that Maggie Sottero has where they will send any dress in any size to the shop to be tried on. Only thing is you have to pay the shipping cost to send it there and back (was around $65.) If you buy it then that $ gets deducted from the price of the dress. You may want to ask about that. Again, my bridal salon is overly helpful and eager to make the sale, so maybe that's why they told me about doing that.

  2. I'm a Maggie Sottero bride. Her dresses are amazing. My dress is the Vernice. Vernice - by Maggie Sottero If it helps, it has a bra sewn into it for support, and a corset back. I'm a 38 DD and it holds me up just fine. I'm also getting mine tailored in to fit more like a mermaid style in the hip area. Check the site out. There are so many incredible dresses, and I know that a majority of us here are Maggie brides.

  3. I don't think it's rude at all. I told my guests last year. They had since March of 08, and my wedding isn't until October of 09, and I STILL only have 6 rooms booked. I almost feel like telling people closer to the date gets them more excited because they have something in the near future to look forward to. I am at the point that I am nagging people to get them to make their deposits. At least you won't have to do that! Plus, booking closer to the date usually saves you a ton of money. The hotel and airfare goes WAAAAAAAY down when you book so close to the date that you are leaving.

  4. Can I tell you how I saw this post a few weeks ago, and now I can't stop thinking about this dress! I already bought my dress (a Maggie as well,) but I want a dress for TTD. I think I'm going to buy something like that but really inexpensive from Davids, and get some organza fabric and make some flowers to sew on there are recreate this! I NEED this dress in my life! If anyone wants to sell theirs after their wedding let me know!

  5. I feel like since I have joined this forum, I have added 9876543234567890 things to my list that I SHOULD be doing. When I chose to have a destination wedding, it was because we have such a small budget now that we just had a baby and bought a house, that I figured it would be more affordable and acted as the honeymoon as well. Now, I pretty much obsess over all the things that everyone is doing, and feel like I need to do them too. For example, I had never even heard of OOT bags before, or sending welcome packages prior to the cruise. I am not doing ceremony programs, STD's, invitations, or any of the other details. I am also seeing that people are having welcome parties and dinners also. I pretty much reserved a group of rooms, emailed the info to my immediate family and the friends that are attending, and that's about it. To keep everyone informed of the events and the cruise information, I posted it all to our wedding web page. Am I the only one out there that is keeping it so simple? Is this poor etiquette not to do all of the above? If it helps, my wedding is in Bermuda, and we are arriving via cruise ship. We will be having a ceremony on the beach, followed by a cocktail reception, and then have dinner reserved back on the ship. Should I be doing much more?

  6. Ok, so here's the deal. These are the girls' dresses.Jasmine Bridal

    in the Bahama Breeze color.

My color scheme is aqua, chartreuse, and brown. I will either be going with this parasol...

Chartreuse Green and White Swirl 33 Inch Rice Paper Parasol - CUGR

    or this one...

Bamboo and Birds 33 Inch Rice Paper Parasol - CU37

Or I will do bouquets like this...

    What do you like better?

Parasols will save some money, but I only have 3 bridesmaids, so it's not really that much of a concern.

  7. I am in the same boat as you are! My dresses are aqua. But I wanted bright bouquets with orange, pink, etc. Then last minute decided I like the aqua, chartreuse, and brown color scheme. I am doing parasols instead of bouquets now. I found some that have all the colors. The other alternative is that I will do white and chartreuse flowers. I think you may also want to stick to white and green if you have the brown and blue already. Orange will work, but if its a brighter aqua, and not a pastel blue. I think Aqua, brown, and orange look great together. You said you are doing a starfish theme? So I imagine you have the light blue with the brown, in which case I would do only white and have them tied in blue ribbon.

  8. I wanted to put this out there...I will be selling my dress after the wedding. It's a size 20. I'm a street size 14, but have "pregnancy boobs" from having my son, which caused me to need such a big size. I am hoping to lose weight and it will be taken in to whatever size I am in October (probably taken in to a street size 12.) If anyone is interested let me know so I don't put it on ebay or another site. My wedding is October 8th,09, and will sell when I get home. I paid $1200, probably looking for at least half of what I paid.

    Vernice - by Maggie Sottero

  9. Erin...I'm loving your pics. Soooo nice! Thats why I need to find a TTD dress! I am leaning more towards finding something that looks like one of the dresses I wanted instead of what I got. Probably a mermaid or trumpet fit. I bought the Maggie Sottero Vernice. Vernice - by Maggie Sottero But I am wishing that I got the Phillipa instead. Phillipa - by Maggie Sottero I would also really love an empire waist chiffon dress. Something breezy and beachy. If that doesn't happen, I will consider other styles too. I will let you know what happens. Thanks!
