  1. Hi Ladies, I just got married at DT in May and I'm waiting for my marriage certificate to come in the mail so I can legally change my name-I'm starting a new job and I need new Identification ASAP. Initially I was told one month...but I'm going on two--when I called Anabel, she said it could take 4 months?!? Anyone know more about this? I so appreciate the help!!
  2. Does anyone have thoughts on the dolphin pool for a 5pm wedding? I'm worried kids will still be out when we have our reception!! Our ceremony is on the beach (on the side towards the ruins) and the relax terrace is on the other side of the resort..so the dolphin pool seems like it would be best to keep everything together..but I'm concerened about the guests. Would it be worth it to set it up at the adult section where it would be more quiet?! I really appreciate your feedback! It is so tough trying to imagine how these things would work!!
  3. Hi everyone, I am sending out my invites and I want to include the reception information to follow our wedding when we get back home for everyone that can't make it. I'm sending formal invites to everyone and I wanted to put the reception information on a seperate card with our wedding website information. I'm having trouble with wording though, because I feel like 'reception' sounds too formal, when it is more like a party. I don't want them to think cake, etc. Thanks guys! Any advice is appreciated.
  4. Hi all, I ran out of time to send 'std' anouncements, and I was originally going to put our wedding website on those. Now I'm getting ready to just send out the invitations and I'm wondering if it is okay to put our website in with our invitation, and if so...where?!! I was thinking on the RSVP card? Or just add another card with the invitation? I'm not sure it would look right to put it on the invite itself! I'm open to any suggestions!! Thanks in advance! P.s. just did a site visit and its gorgeous, much bigger than I ever imagined. I almost went with Riviera Cancun...but no comparison. This place has it all
  5. I was considering a June wedding, but I just got back and it was so humid it was almost miserable! Any experience with May or June weather in PV?? Also, is it better to go with the Free package and choose items a la cart, or go with one of the other 2 options? Thanks!! Also, other than the humidity...the resort was amazing and Rebecca is so nice.
  6. Hi everyone, I am a June 25th 2010 Dreams PV bride!!! Up until yesterday I was planning my wedding at Dreams Tulum, but then I met with my TA because I was still uncertain but loved Dreams resort, after staying in the one in Cabo...and she suggested PV and wow its so beautiful. I knew it was the place immediately! I'm assuming the packages are the same, but has anyone had experience with the hair/salon? I'm a hair stylist, so to me hair is more important than the dress! haha also, are you bringing in your own photographer? Thanks so much! Its amazing to have a community like this when planning a destination wedding!!
  7. rachel- did you hire a photographer? I am debating on either adventura (which is what my TA recommended as they will allow kids this fall) or Moon Palace. I was about to book with Dreams but they haven't been very easy to communicate with!
  8. I was convinced I wanted to book my wedding at DT, it looks beautiful and seems reasonable for our guests, but I noticed a bad review on trip advisor with a bad experience at a wedding!! Before I start a new search, I read so many GOOD reviews about DT from all of you!! I don't know what to do! I need to book somewhere soon--my wedding is in September!! Advice?!
  9. Jamaica was beautiful! The people on the resort were so friendly and easy to get along with. The only thing was Mexico is a little bit cheaper like you said. The locals were a little strong in Jamaica too, they would approach you to buy drugs etc, I just didn't want to put our families in that kind of environment. That and we can get a non-stop flight to Mexico...so there were a few factors. Either way, we really did enjoy Jamaica, but with others in mind, Mexico was just our best option (Cost/convenience etc). Hope that helps!
  10. Thanks everyone! I decided to take my chances and after I talk to my TA book my date. Next I need to start working on STD! Did you guys make your own??! Also did you need to consult a TA before you put a deposit down for your wedding date?! I just read an email that she is still in FL until Weds!!

    New!

Thanks everyone! I'm so glad I found this site!
  12. After making a trip to Negril, Jamaica we decided against our original wedding plans and decided upon the Riviera Maya. We were planning on having it in september since it is most feasible for our guests and ourselves to travel at that time, but I'm very worried about the weather! Do any of you have any experience or know anything about Mexico during Sept.? I know its during the "wet season", and of course...hurricane season...but I am willing to risk it with insurance etc. if it will still be okay there!?! Help! I'm starting from scratch!! and I need to get on the ball asap for my guests! Ahh

Hi everyone! My name is Christina...I am planning my destination wedding for September of '09 in Rivera Mexico! Its a late start...but we were originally thinking of Jamaica until we took a site visit and decided against it so we had to start from scratch. Lot of work but it will be worth it I hope!
