I got a response on the entertainment question - karoke, games night, oldies night. Not exactly what I was imagining.

Sunset is at 5:23 on my date. They are suggesting a ceremony of 4:30 pm. that seems somewhat early but that is what they suggested. I really wanted to have my ceremony at sunset -- but from what I am hearing that may cause problems with getting a lot of good pics afterward.

Sparkles - thank you so much for those pictures! It was a great help to see how things are progressing! Did your parents tell you anything about the front of the resort? I didn't notice pictures but I saw some on tripadvisor a few months back that were pretty scary!!! Does anyone know if this has improved? Also, MDC mentioned that there would be "entertainment" at the resort. Does anyone know what kind of entertainment they are planning on having?

Does anyone know of any company/org that has firedancers? I know some of the larger resorts probably have them -- I want to know if I could hire a good group for a private event at the RH. Any recommendations on how I would find one?

Doesn't need to be an AI. Rockhouse is the right type of place. My only issue is that I don't want to run into any guests after the wedding who may be staying around. Some guests may be at the Rockhouse since it is so close to where we are getting married. I heard of the Jamaica Inn and a newer resort Solaris or something in Mobay?

Hi everyone. I'm getting married in Negril and we will stay in Jamaica for the honeymoon but I would like to move resorts. We're pretty active people so want to do the falls, rafting, biking, swimming, water sports, hiking in the day. But would like to relax with a nice glass of wine in a nice setting in the evening. Thinking boutique type place vs. large hotel but open. Do want romantic -- jacuzzi in room, infinity pool (even if just for a night). Thoughts on great honeymoon spots?

Hello everyone. Getting married in Negril and looking to move resorts for the Honeymoon. We're fairly active and plan to be doing activities (Dunn's River, Biking, Golf, etc.) during the day -- but looking for romance, dinner, dancing during the evening. Smaller boutique type is better but open to a larger place if it is really nice. suggestions?

I always thought I would get married very traditional, in a church. I'm so happy and excited about doing destination in jamaica but looks like that won't be happening. If I'm not doing church, I would rather be married by a friend or family member who did one of those online officiant things than by a stranger in Jamaica. Does anyone know if this is possible in Jamaica?

Does anyone have estimates on what the cost ranges of an AI package would be? Does this charge typically include the cost of an actual reception on the day of the wedding? Or is that per person cost usually above the regular daily AI rate?

I spoke to Kerry for the first time about a week ago. They are thin staffed and seem to operate on a what's coming up next. Which I think is good ... when my wedding is a month away I want their full attention! I know that it is frustrating, but I think in the end we'll all get what we want!

Guys I am having a freak out moment from these two new reviews on Trip Advisor. Have you guys seen these? Negril: Moon Dance Cliffs - Traveler Reviews - Wonderful service, exquisite, nearly finished resort - TripAdvisor they are literally about a day apart. And I know MDC has posted pictures on their site. I have not yet been there but plan to take a trip over the summer to see the progress. Although after reading this I am really concerned about everything. Is anyone considering moving the resort?

Does anyone know how far Tensing Pen is from Moon Dance Cliffs? For some reason I thought they were next to each other and there was some type of bridge connecting the two. Is this correct? I am looking for an overflow property and this place could work?

Also - on the reception...is it a sit down dinner option or a buffet? Can you choose?

i think the ipod is fine. I'm seriously thinking the same thing if they DJ doesn't really do anything. The only potential issue is if their sound system is set up to handle the right volume that professional speakers for a party give you. Any idea?

my date is 11/14. Linus is my planner but so far I have only heard from Kerry. She asked some basic questions but I really would like to start off speaking with Linus. I think she is very busy and new. And they are probably handling weddings as they come. I am hesitant to just give her a number though when it comes to budget. I would rather try to get a sense of what I am envisioning will cost and then scale back when I understand the tradeoffs.

I am not too sure what we're going to do on AI or not. We want to create an environment where everyone hangs out together pretty much on property the whole time. When I think about what they are charging for a reception...and what they would charge for an RD event...I wonder what makes most sense. I wanted to an event on Friday night at Moondance that was like an informal poolside BBQ after I rehearse. But if its too expensive, then maybe I'll just do a wedding party and family only dinner at Rockhouse or someplace else. Any other ideas for nice RD places? Are you guys scheduling events for everyone? I don't know if that is the expectation or not. Do I need to schedule (and pay for) events? I am so clueless about how this all works. I know it is getting expensive since I am fairly sure that we will go over capacity at the cliffs. Finally, on wedding colors..I have no idea! How do you even choose them? Just your favorites?
