Riu Mambo Bride to be

Sorry Ladies. Im still getting my review done.. Will post soon.. My information does indeed say Riu MAMBO (which I would have LOVED) but unfortunetly at the last minute Air TRansat Cancelled our flights and we were forced to go to the Riu Bambu in Punta Cana....

The Riu Bambu!!!! Trust me.. I did it and it was a HUGE disapointment.

I really need help finding a template for the paper insert for my travel mugs.. DOES ANYONE know where I can find a good template or have any good ideas on how I can get these personalised? Wedding departure is in 21 days EEEEK Thanks :-)

I live in Calgary, my wedding departure date is 22 days away (nov 5) and we get married on Nov 9th - Getting excited for sure... Riu Bambu Punta cana now since Air Transat CANCELLED our wedding in Punta Cana last week... All under control now and me and my 30 guests are all going to Punta Cana Instead

His mother chose this song called "the man you've become" by god only knows who and my FI refuses to dance to it and hasn't spoken to his mom about it yet... But it's like Disney all the way and we hate it... Makes us feel like we should be in Little Mermaid.... Urrrgh

Does anyone know how the ceremony is performed? Should we write our own vows? Does anyone know if the ceremony is performed in English or spanish?? Please help, we are Finally departing on Nov 5th to punta cana and are set to get married on Nov 9th. We just thought about the vows but I don't really know what to expect down there. Any advice

I am an emotional mess and burst out in tears the moment anyone metions my wedding. I've just been informed that now I get the bottom of the barrel selection for a ceremony time and date because of my "so called" late booking. So we get married in Punta Cana now the day before we leave. I am a hair away from cancelling the entire thing. I just can't deal with it.

TRust me I called Air Transat and they upright REFUSE to talk to the public because I went through an agency.... I was bounced back and forth between departments for over an hour getting nowhere because nobody "deals with these situations"... It's just NUTS....

My beach bags are silk screened!!! So this is the second DATE change already and these are my second set of bags I've ordered. We are just going to make a joke of it )Make the best of the situation) and SHARPI the 7 into a 9, cross out puerto plata and write punta cana on them. I AM NOT buying beach bags for a 3rd time. My luggage tags are just paper and Im going to just re-do them myself.... As far as everything else, Im just going to have to Run with it.. I suppose is my FI and I can get through this...we can get through anything.... My eyes were so puffy yesterday I could barely see.... Just Nuts. My TA is not offering any compensation either other then sending us to Punta cana at no extra charge. And at this point I am SOOOO over confrontation and arguing ... I just want to get there and enjoy myself with my FI, family and friends... I can't believe this has happened.. It seems like a dream, really...

Late yesterday afternoon I recieved a phone call from my TA who proceeded to tell me that our flight (Air Transat) had been CANCELLED to puerto plata from Nov 3-10. At first I thought she was just playing a sick joke on my... I HAD 34 DAYS TO GO and then this bomb was dropped that threw my wedding up in the air. Not only was my flight cancelled but every flight out of calgary was cancelled up until NOV 24th and there was no wedding availablility for that week... SO WHAT NOW... Panic set in, hyper-ventilation, anger, saddness, pitty, desperation. You name it I was feeling it. The wedding itself is still up in the air . My travel agent ofcourse feels so badly she is almost willing to do anything to make me happy. We have no had to choose a different destination, we chose Punta Cana because we have already done all our legal documents and because I went through the consulate directly they are willing to re-do them at no charge. We had to choose another hotel, so we decided to stay with the Riu chain and chose the Riu Bambu. The only thing thats still up in the air is the ceremony date and time. Im preying that they can accomidate us to still legally get married. The only thing is now our departure date has changed from Nov 3 to Nov 5th. So I've got to call each and everyone of my 36 guests and explain over and over again .... The other thing that is a bummer is all my personalised beach bags, luggage tags, travel mugs EVERYTHING says Riu Mambo puerto plata, NOV 7th... You hear about this stuff happening to someone else but never in a million years think it will happen to you!!! AIR TRANSAT is to blame and when I called them for information NOBODY would talk to me, Nobody would exlpain how this happens or why and there is NO COMPENSATION on thier part.... CRAZY!

I bought them from JCPENNY.com.... After paying the shipping and american exchange the dressess were 90.00 each,,,, So, I really only want to make my $$ back if I can.... They are out of stock on these ones now otherwise I would've just ordered and extra dress to use for fabric to cover up them boobies but I couldn't cause they were all out. So if anyone wants them I will sell for 90.00 each and I will seperate them. If they aren't gone by this week, Im sending them back to JCpenny.

My reception is at 2pm as well.. I was so worried about it before. BUT, there is so much to do on the resorts and people are going to want to have a little time to freshen up etc. in between the ceremony and reception anyways. Also, if you have pictures it will take a couple hours as well. So lets says your ceremony is at 2 - pictures will be from 3 - 5 and then dinner/ reception at 6 so I wouldn't worry too much about it

you don't need a marriage licence before you go!!!! I did all my documents through the canadian dominican embassy.. It was pretty easy, trustworthy and was only 360.00 american dollars which ended up being 390.00CAD

My departure date is fast approaching and It's getting freaky. I just mailed my documents off on Friday. I actually decided to go directly through the consulate/ embassy (canadian/ dominican embassy) instead of doing it through wedo or those other companies because I felt thier prices were a little high. I called the consulate and I only had to pay 360.00AMD which ended up being 390.00CAD. I was soo worried abou the documents but it really wasn't that bad. . I guess we will find out when they are processed. The only other thing Im worried about it any additional costs with regard to documents when we get there. Does anyone know if and what the additional costs are for documents once you get there? I know I have to pay for the minister but my travel agent is doing that because our departure date changed twice and I had already had all my personalized OOT bags done with the origonal dates on them and she felt bad. But other then the minister does anyone know what (if any) additional fees/ supprises Im going to have??

3 Dresses (Size 4, 12, 16) Asking 300.00 for all 3 + shipping. My MOH was pregnant and I had no idea how huge her boobs would get and unfortunetly this dress is just not going to work. They are beautiful on and very flowing and beachy. I am devistated to have to pick new dresses but at the end of the day I want them to be comfortable as well. So my travel agency emails me the other day saying "by the way, sunquest changed your departure date from Nov 5 to Nov 3rd. Hope it's not a problem". Soooo long storey short it is a big problem..... Now that meant we would have to get married on the day we leave... So we had to change everything around and I had to confirm a new date. And now that we are getting married on a sAturday there is another added expence for the minister.... The other problems I have is that ALL of my gift beach bag favors FILLED with personalized loot which I have worked on for over a year all has the wrong wedding date.... There is nothing I can do about it but I really feel like I've been ripped off. The TA has offered to take a whole 150.00 off our trip for the mix up.. WOWeeeeeeee. Thanks!!!! ... we have 20+ guests confirmed and I feel like they could do better. Im so depressed about the whole wedding now. It seems like just when things start to go good and I get a little excited something happens and flips everything upside down again.
