Chosing the perfect resort for each couple is the hardest part of planning in my opinion. So congrats on getting "the hard stuff" over with.

Congrats!!! I was a bridesmaid at a wedding at Breezes Runaway and am fairly knowledgeable on how weddings go there, so if you have any questions please feel free ask. FYI the resort has been updated in recent years, and is just lovely.

This was a good question, i was wondering the same thing.

How does this idea sound? I was thinking that I would give each of my guests disposable cameras to take pictures of the wedding and reception from their "perspective" so to speak, and have them return them back to me at the end of the reception. Then when I get home, get the pictures developed and send them a photo album of the best moments, so to speak as a way to say thank you for coming. How does that Idea sound, or does it seem like I am trying to do too much?

We are paying for our own wedding as many of you are, and I was wondering, how did you do it? Specifically, did you set aside a certain amount of money per month and pay for your expenses as they came up, or did you save the money you budgeted before you began planning and paying for anything? The wording of my question is throwing me off a little as I am reading, but hopefully you ladies will understand what I am trying to ask.

The world definetly is changing and not for the better. What I really worry about is what the state of things will be as our children are growing up because some peoples mentalities are going from bad to worse. Not only do people lack manners, but morals in general. Its gotten to the point where I don't even like to watch the news anymore because some of the stories that are broadcast are absolutely ridiculous. Last night, in the news they aired that a second grader brought herion to school. How does that happen? I just don't understand.

Recently, I borrowed a book all about the Caribbean and different resorts in the Caribbean, and it stated that the Dominican Republic has the best priced resorts in the Caribbean. So, is that really true compared to other places like Jamaica or even Mexico?

As I have been searching the forum, it seems so many brides have chosen to be wed at Riu? And I was wondering why? Is it because of costs, scenery, location? Because so many brides have chosen Riu as there destinantion, I am sure it is beautiful, but I was wondering is there one deciding factor over another that aided you in you decision.

Hello all, i have been a lurker on this board for a few months now *hoping* that my BF would propose, and just about a week ago, he did, and I am super excited. When we began discussing wedding plans we both knew that a destination wedding was the way to go so, I am really happy that we are on the same page. Initially we were going to try to get married in August of 2009, but about three days into those plans we decided on August 2010. The only thing we know at this point is that we definetely want to get married in Jamaica. But have no idea of resort. So, I have much faith that the lovely brides and brides to be here will give me much insight during our planning.
