  1. So, everyone who knows me by now knows that I love free. audible.com is offering a free download of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. All you have to do is sign up for a free account. I have the hard book of this but would love an audiobook copy. Anyways, I just downloaded mine and it was painless. I went to the website and clicked download then it took me through the sign up process. If you downloading from a mac when you open the audiobook it will ask for a user name account and passwork, this is the username and password you used to sign up. I don't know how long this is good for...so get it while you can. http://www.audible.com/adbl/entry/of...FR_COVE_000032
  2. I can't totally help but we called Hawaiian Air and worked out a wedding wings discount (it's only 5%) but if we had 40 people book through our wedding wings we got a free upgrade (only one way). For accommodations we rented someone's estate and there's a bunch of us staying there who will split the cost. It was cheaper for us to do it separately so I suggest looking into both separately and together so see what's cheaper for you. April is a low peak month so there's no way you should be paying premium prices. I'd also advise that best time to purchase flights seems to be right after the new year (well the first 2 weeks of Jan or maybe just the first week). This is just what I experienced this year and last year. You should be able to get great (low) prices for the month of April. Good Luck.
  3. Hey, I'm late but I just found out how to do your own and it seems easiest if you have a mac. I just did this in my garageband program and it was simple. There are many tutorials on the web and for the most part all your going to do is open garage band, drop in your music, and edit it on the top portion, then export.
  4. Wow! That's horrible to hear. I decided to stick it out with my current WC but I would of been worried by now if I had gone with Barry. From the sounds of your experience...he or the company doesn't sound too accommodating. I guess in a sense it's better that you knew that upfront so that you could spend your money elsewhere and get what you deserved. Good Luck!

Joanna, Sorry, I can't email it...the file is too big...I even tried zipping it and uploading it here but no luck...I just went to the website and I didn't have a problem downloading it. Maybe I can walk you through and see what's wrong. First off, it's a pages file so you much have a mac and you must have IWork with the application pages to open the file. Once you download it from the website you are downloading a zip file so you'll need to go in and unzip it and then open the template. Sorry...I'm not sure how else to do it other than old fashion put it on a CD and snail mail it. Let me know...
  6. Wow! I can't thank you enough for the detailed response. I never would of imagined how to look for a videographer and I can say now that I am comfortable spending the extra money knowing what the alternative would lead to. Is there a round about figure that states quality? For instance, what's higher end for videography? or are they pretty similar to photography? I know a great photographer (or great to me at least) and he charges on average about $7,000 for an entire day. Well...thanks again~ That was a well written post/advice that I've bookmarked.

  8. I definitely see your point...but I guess my problem is how can you really tell what quality is better than another...or do you just pick something that looks similar to what you want. For instance...how would someone know if they're getting a great deal. I don't want to always correlate higher price with better quality. I'm sure there a some great videographers who run specials or have packages that better than a la carte.
  9. That's a good point but it seems like you would get the best deal from a local videographer unless you want to go with someone you know and are willing to pay accommodations and other fees.

  12. Oh, would you have a picture of it? Is that 12 label size or street size? Thanks~
  13. Just an update...I received a request from one or two ladies and it looks like I can't attach it in my email either (I think the file is too big). So here's the website that I downloaded the template from iWorkCommunity: Template Exchange and I used the last one on the bottom, it's title- Family newsletter- "by the numbers" It's four pages long and I actually only used pages 1,3, and 4. For my second page I just added one off the top menu options. Just click on Insert (on the very top), then sections, and I used "2 & 4 column inside." You'll see there are plenty more options so whatever fits your style.
  14. Welcome and congrats on the upcoming wedding...looks like you found us right in time
  15. Welcome and Congrats...you'll love the Maui boards
  16. Welcome to the forum. Congrats and it looks like you have enough time to pin down a location. good luck!
  17. latinalocany, Sorry My loss...I've been meaning to post them for awhile but been too lazy to take the pics. Lesson learned... tvt, I'd prefer to sell them all together. I kept 5 extra for me, just in case, so I can send you one of those. The shipping for one is $2.36 but I can ship it to you for a total price (including shipping) of $5. Let me know. Thanks~
  18. Hi, Ladies, I’m so excited that this was my fastest DIY project. I was so excited when I found this idea that I finished it in 24 hours. I’m sending out this newsletter a bit after I sent out my invitations and right before my RSVP deadline. It's 4 pgs and will be printed back to back, leaving only 2 pgs to send off. Just like other ladies, the RSVP responses I’ve been getting are few and far in between. I also thought this might be a great way to get guests excited about our wedding. I’m hoping it will serve as a reminder to RSVP since they will be getting it about a week before the deadline. I plan to send one out about 2 or 3 more issues probably one every month or maybe one every other month. We have a website, like most people, but I notice that mailed things get more attention. Anyways, I made this in Pages (on Mac). I followed an easy template and just customized it to my liking. You might be able to use the template on other applications (I’m not sure). There's a cute crossword (it's not called that but I can't remember) puzzle that we included on our newsletter and I made my own by putting in my own words and it automatically populated it. I put our names and other related words that were special to us. There's tons of free programs on the web to make em. *Okay, so I tried to attach the template but no luck. If you want it you can pm me and I'll send it to you. Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4
  19. Hi, Ladies, I’ve finished my Message in the Bottle invites and I have some spares. I ordered 150 and have about 28 left over. I’m sure I’ll get some more requests for invites from other guests but it’s too late. I want to free some room in my tiny house for other wedding projects. For sale are 28 glass message in a bottle invites. All of them come with sand and shells already in the bottles, mailing boxes, corks, and string w/beads to wrap your invites. I hand strung all of the beads, so they are all different but have on average 6 beads per string. Half (14) of the bottles are wrapped in raffia and the other half (14) are not (sorry we ran out of raffia). Raffia can easily be picked up at Michael’s or other hobby stores. These can be used as special invites for selected guests or maybe just the wedding party or even supplemental invites. The only thing you’ll need to do is print out your invites, roll and burn, then send them off in the box. My invites were two pages: the first was the actual invite and the second was a more informal page with website info, RSVP, and other contact info. I’m selling them for $3 each or all 28 for $75 plus shipping. That’s 28 at the price per bottle of a 200-bulk order rate including sand, shells, mailing box, string w/ beads (I had to buy separately). We hand delivered most of ours but the ones that we did ship cost us $2.36 flat to ship anywhere in the US. Any questions…don’t hesitate to contact me. All bottles A pen to show the size of the bottles Side View Corks Rolled, Burned, and Wrapped invitation Just a view of what the invites look like when they are burned. Invitations showing sting and beads (I’ll send you the string and beads) I hand strung all of the beads so they are all different. This is what it looks like all put together Final Bottle w/Mailing Box
