  1. A few more items I found that I forgot to list!

Victorias Secret Black Satin Robe with tie, size L (I wear a size small and it worked perfect for me) wore for 2 hours $25 (originally $50) These are pictures of me in it:

And yes, I am doing our meet-up on Thursday night at the beach BBQ. Most of my guests will be in by then and Thursday is my birthday so that's perfect. Yeah I was planning to ask a BM to make tags for everyone like "Laura, Cousin of the Bride" and "Brett, Groom's Childhood Friend" that way everyone knows what to talk about with each other. (Ha...that's assuming that they only want to talk about us. So vain and presumptious) Also planning to have another BM (FI's sister) pass out the OOT bags and weekend itinerary at the BBQ that way we don't have to pay Lomas to do it. Speaking of, how did you handle that? Did they pass out at check-in, did you do it yourself?

I made a spreadsheet of everyone with the day they were arriving and their flight arrival times. When we landed the airport in Cancun and headed to the hotel, I timed how long it took from the time we left the plane, got through customs, got our bags, got our ride and arrived at the hotel and met everyone in the lobby as they arrived to check in and gave them their OOT bag. I missed a few that arrived early but I just called the front desk, found their room and walked it over to them.

HAHA! I got a sneak peak of it over the weekend... probably shoulda warned you girls :) Sorry!

Did you have table cards? I am using photo frames with place cards as we are doing a make-shift photo booth section and the frames will fit the photos, hence place cards and favors in one. :) Maybe I can just each table member's photo frame with placard lined up together and I can put a table number flat on the table in front of that row. Wow, I hope that makes sense when you read it. For a professional communicator sometimes I have real issues. :)

THANKS so much! You think that the green and white will work? Ah, that makes me feel better. Maybe the lilac running the aisles will be enough. And maybe I can request a touch of purple in my bouquet and BM's can have the all white and green. I guess I'll have to wait and see what the quoted Lomas comes back with are like. I wish I felt comfortable sending them pictures of two bouquets and saying, "merge these" or saying "can you add a hint of purple" to the white and green bouquet but I am scared of what I will see when I get them. Honestly, I know that the flowers are going to look spectacular because all of yours did (better than the photos you sent to Lomas actually) but I am bit of a control freak. Not that I need to have an exact thing but there are some things that I just don't want. I am fearful that's exactly what I will get. So I figure better to furnish them with photos and asking them to duplicate.

Oh well... ok so I didn't give you enough info, sorry! I am pretty anal, I made a spreadsheet of the layout and numbered the tables and we gave them a seating chart of exactly how we wanted it. When we got there we kinda realized the tables would be in different areas which is fine. I had an escort card table and place cards at every seat yes. We worked it out but to be honest, after the rehersal dinner/mojito meet-up (my MOH made name tags with titles "Uncle John" "Bridesmaid Shawna") and everyone was BFF's and knew one another by the wedding. Granted I had half the people you did. I HIGHLY recommend a meetup... with booze :) We had booze and an Abba tribute band which apparently is the recipe for success!

Green and white (and black) were my colors! My accent pop color was fushcia. I think the lavender will be great because it keeps with your muted tone but adds another dimension of color which I like.

That's all I had, I requested all white flowers and natural greens for the hanging flowers on the chuppah thing on the Sky Deck and white rose petals down the aisle and it was gorgeous. I think we have similar tastes :)

Also, the reception seating is best figured out on site. I struggled with this for weeks and Kiara even made me seating chart options to give me a better idea BUT she also told me I had to have square tables and when I got there, they told me they would be round tables... which I preferred anyways so it worked out for the best.

Again, no random twigs sticking out if I go with these and also less bright green filler, more garden green. And a gold ribbon tying them all together. :)
Gorgeous dress!! I agree with the girls and like these flowers best, I definitely see your vision now, it's coming together!!

We will have over 15 rooms booked. Have any of you received discounts for travelers for booking so many rooms?

I know that if we book at least 15 rooms we stay for free, but I feel like a discount should be offered to our families?

Any insight would be helpful, I have nooooo idea what I am doing :)

    Thx,
    Lauren
Congrats and welcome Lauren! These girls have learned, after us old married ladies keep telling them to read through the forum, they know now why it's so priceless to do so. It answers questions you didn't even know you had!

Good luck, these girls are wonderful :)

So much to think about.

I actually didn't want my theme to have anything to do with the beach...that was a problem when my mom chose a gauva dress. I asked her to wear a different color. She said it was fine but is complaining to everyone else about it. I know I should maybe let her wear what she wants but everyone else is in soft romantic colors. I didn't want anything tropical and then it would be all eyes on her in every picture. So I feel sort of bad but since no one is helping me with anything or asking me about the things I'm choosing, including her, I've decided to not feel bad. After all she's wearing the exact same dress just in a different color. (Green, my fav! ) Now, I just need to convey to guests that shorts are not appropriate for the ceremony.
HAHA! This is hysterical! I live in CA, 40 minutes from the beach and everyone thinks Iâ€m crazy. I never go to the beach, I just donâ€t like the sand and the water here is not the best so whatâ€s the point!

OMG, seriously exactly! I told my bridesmaids, I wanted to have a wedding that had NOTHING to do with the beach or colors. My girls wore black dresses and LOVED it. Iâ€m not big on color myself so it was a stretch to do sage green… haha maybe itâ€s a Cali thing? I kinda dress like a NYer though… black, grey, white and jeans. Oh navy blue too wink.gif

If that was my wedding I would have been a stress case. and you know what? THANK GOD I DID A DW!!! All the stress and stupid crap we encounter dealing with family and travel issues, Miami coordinators, Lomas, then going through the hotel staff - yes I know its hard - but my wedding in Mexico was stress free and carefree and awesome. Saturday solidified my destination wedding choice that much more. I mean, 1/2 my guests would have missed my ceremony had we been having a traditional wedding on Saturday.

I only have a few pictures of the party - I'll do a review later once I get the better pix.

Ditto on the sand Ladies!! I have had so many people look at me like I'm crazy. Whenever I mention DW they automatically assume beach. They make comments like, "Oh, a beach wedding is gonna be so beautiful!" When I say no, I hate sand they usually have this dumb look on their faces like "what's the point, then!" I find it kinda funny now.
Yeah I got the keycard holders on Ebay and the wrist coils from Punch and Coil online… I donâ€t recommend them at all though. I received them and they ALL had rust all over the metal and DH spent hours trying to remove the rust with no success. Finally ended up buying new metal rings and replacing them all.

I love how many of us there are that loathe the sand! Who knew :)
  7. Thank you Princess! I'll let you know about the wrist coils, I'll mark down that you've requested these items:

This is my Rosa Clara – “Clark” TTD inspired dress made by Duosheng. I had it custom made to my size, which is a size 4 but it has a corset back (and was a little big on me) It’s a beautiful and comfy dress but to be honest there is sand stuck in some of the fold and I’ve been to busy or lazy to get it out. I only wore it for 2 hours for my TTD. I spent $300 on it and will let it go for $50 just so I don’t have to get the sand out of it myself :) I’m 5’7 and had it made to fit my height without heels.

I think I would never move just due to fear of losing her, haha!

Oh don't get me wrong, the beach receptions are GORGEOUS. The wind would have been nice on my wedding day. There are two big reasons I didn't have my reception on the beach, 1. I hate sand, always have (lame I know) and 2. I LOVE wearing heels, I have a shoe obsession and I wanted to wear heels. So to each their own!

Can you think of any other cons or pros of a beach reception you may have witnessed while there that I should keep in mind for our guests? My 85 year old grandmother will be there and I want to ensure that she is comfy....although I'm sure she'll probably turn in when we start dancing.

Oh and I cannot take any credit for the inspiration boards! I found those two online at past sites I have visited just for gingerlover because she said her FI sprung new colors on her. :-) I've been cruising photos for the past 2 weeks trying to nail down our color scheme. BUT, I did make one for Meredith that I was pretty proud of but for her's I used photobucket. What is this big and something that you speak of? ? ? Details, details! ;-)

Ohhhhhhh, thank you for the info on Puerto Morales! I really just wanted some maracas, especially for the kids. I had completely forgotten about that town! I was hoping to also get our photog to take some photos of us there for our TTD. Would you recommend it for that as well? I am looking forward to cruising around one day while there and taking in the small town flavor.

    LOL! Go you!
Sure, I'll definitely send them to you! Hopefully it helps :)

Oh it's called bighugelabs.com which is what I used to make my inspiration boards :)

Yeah AS/AB is technically in Puerto Morelos, I wish I would have known where to go while I was down there or had been adventurous enough to figure it out! I was at the swim up bar with FI at the time drinking a margarita and I said "Oh we have to get OOT bag stuff in town" and he was like... "right..." and I was like "yeah who am I kidding, I'm so not leaving this pool all day" LOL! So do it BEFORE you start drinking for the day, my advice :)
