  1. Hi everyone! I have some catching up to do! How has everyone been? I noticed the flower info........my lady Sharon has been terrific and I will receive all my flowers on Saturday - yeah! Nicole
  2. Hi Dez, thanks......we will be in a Presidential suite, so we kind of have our own room - kind of not. A spa package sounds really good. I will look at my options today.
  3. okay - need all of your help! First ~ what do we give our WC? Any ideas? Do we also give something to all the other people working our wedding? Also, and this is a good one! Today it dawned on me that I haven't put any thought in to what I give my husband for our 20th anniversary. This is really bad of me. He doesn't want a new ring - he said the ceremony could be my new ring because he is satisfied with his. So.....I wonder what the world I should give him. He is very picky, gets everything that he wants - he doesn't ask for much. If you guys have any suggestions - please, please tell me.
  4. YOU LOOKED ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Thank you for sharing your story.
  5. You are lucky in the sense that you do have time. You also have more time to be picky and get exactly what you want ) Your hair looks pretty in your avator, by the way. Up is probably a great option....remember very humid! I need to start hair style shopping myself. The only thing I know is that I want flowers in it. Do they (MP) really charge $10 extra per person for the ceremony on the beach? That is not fair! Yes....seaweed is a problem, but mostly right next to the water. Keep in mind sand getting in the food and drink )

  7. Hey there! Let's keep our chin up ~ it all has to work out, right? Pookie - I noticed you and I both visited the "alternative flower" thread. I went ahead and bought the flowers. They look gorgeous. Are you going to get them? I am still doing real flowers at the resort, but unfortunately those are adding up fast! So for $249 (including shipping) I ordered my bouquet, MOH, bridesmaid, grooms, 2 groomsmen, mother corsage, hair flowers (I think 7 total) and 5 cake flowers. I read all the reviews she has on Ebay and they were all good. Let's keep our fingers crossed that they are all they are supposed to be. We are running out of time! Keep posting girls! Dez, anything new from the resort? Anyone else? Nicole
  8. fyi - we are having a symbolic ceremony and we are married already. Our WC asked us if our guests knew that we are already married. I believe they know how to make the ceremony appear as if this is the "only" ceremony you will have. Anyone ask before? just tell them this is your wedding ceremony. Who would inquire as to that anyway....weird.
  9. Just received an update on Moon Palace Grand - 300 Presidentials and 700 Jacuzzi - so I was wrong ) They have some rooms open now and the rest along with the lobby will be open in late 2008.
  10. Sharla - that is awesome news for you! I am excited. Man....next week ~ must be nice ) Please remember to email us when you get back! I am dying to see how everything turned out! Nicole
  11. Hey Pookie - How is the planning coming? You are right around the corner! Are you really excited yet?

This picture gives you a good idea of how some of them are (right by the retainer wall) - I think there are only a couple that are just a little farther away. Do you remember that Pookie? I am not sure we can go wrong whereever we end up - the best of both worlds like Pookie said.

There is only 1 gazebo left and I am assuming this is the Tucan. I do not think I have ever been on that side of Nizuc. This should be the one farthest South. Dez - I am remembering a couple close to the retainer wall. I know there are a couple of garden areas - which you are not interested in. Your best bet would probably to have the wedding at the Bugambilia Gazebo and the cocktail at the terrace right next to it. I sent that picture yesterday (?) also I am thinking that may be the closest you can get to the beach (unless on it) or the moonlight terrace. I have stayed in rooms facing the moonlight terrace before and that area is pretty big. I was told, though, that the photographer takes you down to the beach for pictures. As far as the beach goes - there is alot of seaweed, but they do tractor it out often during the day. If you are wanting the Cancun blue ocean behind you while in the sand - this isn't the place to do it. You will see splotches of the really pretty blue - you will also see the really pretty blue when you go on your excursions, but Moon Palace is not known for their beaches. I am born and raised on the beach - Moon does not bother me - it is not ugly at all. It just has seaweed issues. I think you can go to travel advisor and look at the many pictures they have posted. Hopefully you guys are not tired of me answering -- I have been trying not too - but obviously that isn't working Take care.
  14. The only difference's I see in the gazebo's are the sides. It goes from North to South, Bugambilia, Catholic, and Tucan
  15. Hopefully no one gets angry for hogging up so much space with these pictures.....but here is another view of the Chapel Gazebo
  16. I think (almost positive) this is the Bugambilla Gazebo with the Bugambilla Terrace right next to it! You will be closer to sunrise side this way and will not have to walk as far to dinner.
  17. Thanks Melissa, I have Kalena and Maria Pillar in Cancun - Maria is the supervisor. I also have Kathy in Miami. Kalena was extremely slow getting back to me, however she did call me the other day and we talked for about 45 minutes on questions that I had. I am still waiting for her to get the rest of the information to me. As a matter of fact, that was last Friday that I spoke to her. Hmmm?? Maybe they need to know the people's name in the ceremony so they can type it in the witness area - the place that they will have to sign. That kind of makes sense to me. I am already married so I do not have to have witnesses sign our marriage license this time. I am going to review my questions...you may have someone with a little more time. Thanks!
  18. Melissa I didn't get that last form. What type of ceremony are you having and you might have told me, but where are you having it? Also, who is your WC - both Miami and Cancun?
  19. Hi Melissa! Barracuda - you will notice while at the resort, you will see a wide array of clothing at night - shorts and flipflops to full blown dress. Unfortunately, you will also see this at the restaurant. Your dinner will be separate from everyone else though. We are also having our wedding dinner there and it is sit down - they serve you - whole nine yards. I believe this is the only restuarant that has sit down for the amount of people both you and I are having. Thanks for putting the favor prices down - I have yet to get that. Was there anything else listed on that? I have everything else you had listed to include the DJ information. Any other information they gave you? Also, Barracuda - there is more than jsut steak. It is not known for "Seafood" because there is a seafood restuarant, but they have seafood and other things also. I am chosing this one because of the sit down, but also because I do know they have good food. You will not go wrong here. Thanks, Nicole Nicole

January 29, 2009 @ 3pm 3pm Wedding - in the Chapel Gazebo ~ * Do you have to have a catholic ceremony? - as I am Canadian and we are not able to have the catholic ceremony (as per the palace webside) followed by a Cocktail Reception on the terrace - overlooking the ocean - beside the Chapel Gazebo (while we are having pictures taken) * I think this should be free, as we have at least 10 rooms booked through CAA Travel and a group contract with the hotel through Signature followed by Dinner at the Steak Restaurant-or some other restaurant (any recommendations) or Ideally Dinner on the terrace (beside the Chapel Gazebo) - We would like all the 'bells and whistles' ~ We hope to have the special linens, seating guide, menu card ~ all the extras would find on the website ~ Does anyone have experience with this? Sound System - as we have heard that you can use your IPOD?? Lighting System - any info is helpful? Is any other bride planning this type of day ~ as I could you any advise - pics etc. I also hope to hire an outside photographer vendor - Del Sol Photography ~ Does anyone have any reviews of their abilities - costs? Or do you recommed another Vendor? My thought is if you are going to go away you should have terrific pictures that truly detail the experience. Grand Moon side - has anyone heard updates on this side of the resort - as we have requested that our guests stay on this side?? Sorry for the 20 questions - but I am sure there are more (lol) Thank you to each of you as your posts are a huge help! Take Care Laura HI Laura, Let's see if I can answer any of your questions - Ceremony at Chapel Gazebo - I may be the exception, however we are not having a catholic ceremony and this is where ours is. Grand - the Grand side is Presidenial Suites only. There are no single rooms here - so unless you are able to have all your guests book Presidential Suites, I am thinking you will not have any luck going on this side. This is the information I have received from being a member. Cocktail should be free unless they change their deals - they often do this. The only way I know of to get an outside vendor is to have them come as a guest - meaning getting a room or buying their day pass. I think, though, that with something like this they have to be staying there. I may be incorrect. Sound system - I was told that you can use an Ipod but not an Iphone. There is an option to buy the DJ package with the lighting - not sure if you can purchase the lighting alone. You may be able to -- money goes far ) We will be also eating at the steak house (Barracuda) - from experience as a guest - this restuarant is yummy. I have not done it as a wedding group though. It is located right next to the pool on the Sunrise side. I am sure others have more insightful information. Hope this helped. Nicole
  21. Hi Lor - having children doesn't make it so you can't wear white ( Anyway....I have recently learned that it doesn't matter what anyone thinks or says -we all need to do what makes ourselves happy. Ivory is beautiful! Who is making your silk flowers?
  22. Hi Siobhan! Welcome to this forum! You should be able to find great information here - I know I did. Have fun planning.

I agree with that....unless we all walk down together ) I think it would be more romantic for my husband and I meet and walk down together. Our kids will have great memories of watching us do that...it'll also let them know that despite all the disposable marriages out there....there are still ones out there that last like there supposed to. If you look at the photo of the gazebo, they have wind barriers. I never noticed them before and am not sure if they are just on the chapel gazebo, but that might take care of the wind. You know the whole 20 guests, 20 year, 20 candles sounds a little appealing. I am thinking it might be a PITA to get them all there though. 20 candles are a lot to tote around - might be much easier for the sand thing. Some day soon - I have to make a decision. My mom will be here in a couple of weeks - I think we will take the gerbera daisy approach as well as the oriental lily approach, but rather than real we might try and find life like silk. I am still trying to decide on that one. I love flowers - I love color - I love real flowers, but I hate to think that they will all be dead shortly there after.
