First off...who does that to a bride?! I just cannot believe the lengths some of our family, who are not attending the wedding in Mexico, are going to try to deter my parents (in particular) from going...SO frustrating.
I've basically been doing the same thing as far as a response "Thanks for your concern, but...I'm on top of the information, and I'm not cancelling my wedding due to the flu".
Like you, I refuse to NOT leave the house during this flu, as I would never stay inside during flu season either...its ridiculous.
Steph and Leah, and anyone else leaving around the same time...I really do think we need to just take a deep breath...and not panic. I guarantee in a week, maybe two max, this will have all blown over, and won't even be the 5 o'clock news headline anymore...
Just remember...take hygenic precautions...Purell your hands often...but this flu has not been reported in the area we will be travelling to...and right now, our odds fair more in our favor to be in Playa, than to stay in Canada or the US! Crazy, but true. -

Yah...no nudity was my only rule for the wedding party on the big day....I'll hope that it will apply to the people around us too! LOL
Of all the things to consider on your wedding day...THAT just shouldn't be on that list! LOL Hilarious! -
Stephanie - dude - you're hilarious. I was drinking my Tim Horton's, minding my business, when TITS jumps out at me and I laugh out loud! Thank you for that...I'm still grinning about it - not even sure why, really!
Anyways...
Based on what I have read online, and heard from fellow brides, the "new" pricing applies if you are selecting a package first and foremost...if you are not getting married at the resort (just the reception) you would most probably not be booking a package...but rather making specific arrangements for the dinner only.
If you have chosen a package previously, but like me, aren't getting married until after the "new" packages are advertised, it has yet to be decided if you will receive only the things you've committed to thus far, OR if you will receive the extras (and for the listed price) that are now advertised (I hope this makes sense).
If I hear back from my WC before I leave, I will most definitely post what I know to keep you all on the same page.
I just wanted to make mention that, regardless of how the whole package issue may turn out, I have no doubt our wedding is going to be amazing. Lili, my WC, has suggested some lovely additions to our setting....and....though a cost reduction would most definitely be AWESOME, I'm not counting on it...
I cannot wait to go...only 8 more sleeps!!!

If that's alright with you, then...I'll definitely be in touch!

Each guest is paying $2500 + insurance...
We're at the Royal also and booked nearly a year ago.

I think I'm going to call my WC just to see if there is any reason we won't get the extras now included...I mean...technically....we're paying for them.
Also, I absolutely think if you're interested in spending more money...they definitely won't try to stop you! You still have lots of time too...so...it says specifically something along the lines of ... things must be booked one month in advance .... so...yah, go for it!

Then, earlier this year, they increased a lot of their packages significantly...the Luxury went from the $2200 to like...$2900 or something. At that time, I suggested to Micaela, our then coordinator that because of when we confirmed, etc, would they honor the original fee? They agreed to do that.
So currently, we are expected to pay $2200USD plus minister fees, plus reception costs, plus day passes for our photographers/video folks, plus we are paying for the photography itself.
Not only has the package price gone DOWN to $2150 (not a huge difference to the original, I know, but...) it includes:
- Professional Photography & 30 Minutes Editted videography of the ceremony (not that I would change our photographer anyways...but...had I known I'd save so much money...things may have been different)
- Spa Service for the Groom ($100 value)
- Two kinds of live music - a soloist for the ceremony and a full hour set with a trio during the reception (currently, we have only discussed the previously included 45 minute set with a mariachi)
- Reception meal for up to 35 guests for up to 3 hours (currently we're paying $50/head)
- Grooms suit pressing
All of these things were NOT included before...and...I kinda feel on one hand, I shouldn't expect them now, because...that's business....but on the other hand, if I'm going to be paying more now...and missing out on all these "extras"...well, I kinda want the extras!
Am I wrong? -

Has anyone else on here commited to the Luxury Package? I'm a bit concerned with what I'm seeing on the Royal site now, with prices and what all is included. For some reason, the price we were quoted a year ago is MORE than what the package is now, and ... we get less stuff...should I be asking about this? Or .... since I leave in a little over a week...just suck it up and forget I even saw the new stuff?
What would you guys do? -
I agree...you look fan-tastic!
I've thought about doing the BD for FI, but...I'm SO self conscious about my body...
I'm much more on the chubby side...than the rockin body like you side!
LOL
Can I ask how much he would charge to do BD shoots for...me?!

Yes, the packing trial was last weekend! haha...I just couldn't wait! We are washing all our new beach clothes tonight....cause this weekend is going to be very busy...and during the week is virtually impossible to get anything done...I just had today off.
I think the little dress will be great. It's very light (I need to find a slip - cause its kinda see through!)...but...overall, I'm really happy with it!
Thanks girls...you keep me all pumped up!!! -

Oh...and I leave on Saturday at 6AM!!!
I also heard from our TA today, that doctors studying the influenze strain, have reported that it is dying in high heat; it not able to sustain itself. They are even saying that some of the earliest reported cases are healing quicker, when subjected to higher temperatures. Food for thought...
