Im not sure if the mojito is mexican it could be haha..Its our favorite cocktail though and we are known to have them wherever we go so we incorporated that into the wedding haha. Ill take a picture of it this weekend and post it (once i figure out how to do that) hehe. It also has the mojito recipe in the glass too and a cheers to us message.

yeah the crazy thing about my wedding reception is that we are having 2 which is unheard of. I live on Long Island born and raised, my fiance was raised in Rochester so ALL of his family us up there except his parents who are in NJ. soooo long story short his family wont travel bc they are older and im not going to put everyone out to travel to rochester after they went to cancun so we are having 2. ARGh. We are def doing the slideshow of us while and the pictures through our relationship and then that leading to a slideshow of the wedding itsel all with music. And then we are going to have the dvd of the actual ceremony play so people who werent there can watch. We are having a small group come so it would be good that everyone can feel like they were there. Ive decided to do a sand ceremony so we are gonna have the jar displayed also. Our favors for the 2 receptions are mojito kits that i made up. It has a mojito glass, an airplane size bottle of bacardi and fake ice wrapped in tool and tied with a mint leaf and ribbon i love them! So thats my plan for my reception(s). We will fortunately have time to do the slideshow ourselves when we get back. Im planning the LI reception mid feb and the Rochester one at the end of March bc of the weather it could still be snowing there!

does anyone know what the cake looks like that comes with the packages? are they decent looking? Ive seen website picts of the ones you can choose from but you cant really tell by them. I dont really like any of them for our wedding they dont really match

Exclusivelyweddings.com Ive seen these monogram toppers before somewhere else. But this website has some pretty cool stuff on it i ordered the OOT bags that say welcome to our weekend wedding. VEry cute..kinda small but that means i dont have to put so much stuff in them!

This may seem like an out of the blue question but is everyone bringing a cake topper down for their cake at the resort? Told ya weird question...Im on a website now that has some pretty cool monogrammed ones

oh ok. Im such a worry body. You know when i went into this destination wedding thing im thinking oh how much easier it should be rather than a wedding here. Forget that idea. A lot has to go into these things. Cant the men do all this and us brides will just show up and look pretty??!

Tam I am having a small wedding also. Hopefully no more than 20 if i get my way. I was even thinking maybe a cocktail hour would be asilly bc its an all inclusive resort anyway but i probably will have one and then for dinner we will just pick a restaurant and go to it. Im not picky We are having a reception when we get home so no biggy. Im just going back and forth as to what i want after the actual ceremony

yeah the chapel gardens looks really nice but im afraid of the women's heels in the grass. (not to mention mine) Ill prob do the same. I just dont want to be in the middle of everyone's vacation that is staying at the resort.

I am having a really had time decising where i want to have my cocktail hour set up. I kinda want it by the water does anyone know which one is closet to the beach? Ive decided to nix the beach idea for the cocktail hour. close to it is good enough. I dont want to be and eating the sand like you said! Where is everyone else considering??

Dez i took your advice and i tried calling about the tours but i have to call mexico directly not the FL people so i guess i have to wait till i get home. Im sure my bosses wont appreciate the 20 minute clal to mexico!

I noticed on the website they are offering the swimming with the dolphins for free until dec 08. Im trying to get my TA to get them to extend it for us. But I really want to go horse back riding and stuff. So when you get a moment that would be great!

no i dont know who she has spoken to. I also want to try and book my excursions and tours but she said that i cant do that either...bummer

My travel agent is really confusing me. How come you guys are able to request your cocktail hour and reception plans but my travel agent says i have to wait until i get assigned a WC a month before the wedding?? Should I be more pushy bc i need answers NOW haha. Who do I talk to to set my cocktail hour up??

Dez, do you know how you are wearing your hair yet? I dont know if it is going to be extremely windy in January. Im up in the air about it. I recently cut my hair short about chin length and was hoping to keep it down (now im growing it) but i dont want it to blow all over my face and ruin the hair style.

Is having my cocktail hour on the sand silly? I plan on having my ceromony on the sand as well. do they even set up chairs and tables on the sand or do you HAVE to have it on a terrace or in a restaurant? I think Ive been watching too many wedding on the beach movies bc i dont want to be disappointed with my own wedding on the beach. ARGH!

I have my wedding scheduled for ON the beach. Ive been hearing that the beach isnt the best here now im freaking out bc that is the whole reason why im doing a destination wedding. My wedding is at 3pm. Should i reconsider and do it in a gazebo?

yeah it is a completely different document you have to get attached to your birth certificate. I have the information at home (im at work now) and i have the number and everything to the office. I know its 123 Williams St. in NY dont ask me how i remembered that much. It mentions the apostille document on the Moon palace website under frequently asked questions. thats how i found out about it and my travel agent had no idea what it was either which was fabuluos. So i figured it out and its something that needs to get done in order to get married in Mexico. Let me know if yu need more info i will look it up at home.

Has anyone taken care of the Apostille document yet to attach to their birth certificates?? I was planning on taking a day off soon and going into Manhattan to the office they have there to get it done with my fiance. Is there an eiser way to do it?

We actually got a pretty good price through the travel agent on the flights. I think it was like 170 something each way on American. Something like that. I just hope for the people that didnt book it yet that the price hasnt gone up too much. Ill tell them about cheap tickets thanks!

Do it Dez. haha We are going to MP on the 18th and leaving the 29th. I see your from Staten island so if we leave the same day we will be on the same plane probably too haha. Im from Long Island. my family is just coming for the weekend the 23rd is a friday so they will come the 21st-25th. so we'll probably bump in each others family. Us damn New Yorkers!
