I think every state has their own rules regarding outside of the country weddings I leave on Sunday you would think i researched this s bit more haha. oh well
  3. I live in NY and was wondering if my marriage in Mexico is going to be legal when i get back! Does anyone wknow this answer??
  4. Has anyone seen Dez lately. She was suppose to go to MP for a site visit last month and she never came back!

I emailed her today and asked her a few things.. including if she could send a request for an on-site coordinator because I have many questions and budgeting to do! Just any feedback on her would be great Thanks! I am dealing with Yudelka in Miami. Good luck getting assigned to anyone through her. Im getting Married January 23rd and i keep telling her about my budgeting issues and she wont budge on assigning me anyone. She gave me the name of someone whos name escapes me now so i emailed them but no response. Shes very nice yudelka and gets back to you in a short time but she wont give you any added information on anything. Very frustrating.
  6. This is such crap ! I keep hearing no no no a WC isnt assigned to you yet meanwhile I am getting married January 23, 09. What is that about? haha So frustrating..... (sorry had to vent)

I have some photos and info that the WC sent me if you would like to see them. Send me a PM and I will forward it to you. I am doing the beach set up thing as well.. How did you get the prices of the set ups? Did someone send you prices pictures of what they can do at all? I didnt know it would be so much more money. I wonder what like a $400 set up would look like, if it would look cheesy at all?
  9. Hey Melissa you look GORGEOUS! I was wondering if you know the name of the person who did you hair bc that is EXACTLY how i want mine done and i cant find pictures anywhere of it. Also Did they provide the flower or did you bring your own? Thanks so much Im having such a hard time finding pictures to show them when im down there.

Thats AWESOME!!! i totally forgot you were going in August and now your back already. TIme sure does fly! I cant wait to see your pictures thats really sweet of you to do that for everyone. Did you see any wedding go on while you were there??

Swimming with the dolphins costs like around $160 per person for a half hour. She was able to get that for us free and unlimited paradise snorkling, free calls to US and Canada free wet and wild pass etc for all of us that are going. If you have a travel agen helping you out I would try and get that too. There is a promotion going on now for free dolphin swim that ends at the end of Dec. Im getting married in Jan so she pushed to extend it for us. Im not sure if they will do that for those who are getting married in say March or April. I would try it out though!
  12. If anyone was wondering the tours for 2009 are available . My travel agent was able to get us all free swimming with the dolphins for me my fiance and all of our guests. I think so far thats the coolest thing about this trip hahaha
  13. I think Ive decided not to stress out on anything until I am assigned a WC. I am going to be calling them nonstop at 90 days prior to my wedding until I get one, but this is CRAZINESS. I dont know how you girls are doing it. Im dying over here.

Has anyone else done the legal ceremony AND had the non-denominational minister? We are having both and I was wondering what the minister says and about how long it is. We want to add the sand cermony and have it read by my sister (MOH) and we were thinking of having our mom's read the hand cermony (because it makes me cry every time I read it) and we have really close friends doing a reading from Dr. Seuse's "The Places You Will Go". I'm afraid it might be too much, but I don't want the ceremony to be over in 10 minutes and I love all the aspects of it. There's a seperate thread coming on if it's too much but right now I'm concerned with how the resorts things go (ideas of what they say, how long it is, etc) I dont have the answer to your question but how cute are you with your Name/Picture thingy. Love it.

Hope your planning has come to an end and the last minute details are smoothing out nicely. Are you freaking yet ? haha Good luck with your last minute details

I read somewhere that there is an evening boat trip you can take and have a meal and drink etc. I cant find the thread now tho!! Does anyone know anything about it or am i imagining it Thanks!! xx I think you are referring to the Lobster Dinner Cruise that anyone can go on. Its a tour that you can sign up for. I could be wrong but i think that is what you can do. Im having a small wedding party as well about 20 so like you im thinking its silly to have a cocktail reception when we can just go somewhere and hang out al together. Who knows though. I have to wait to see the final head count. But i think the dinner cruise is 60-80 dollars per person and no kids are allowed. Hope this helps and if Im wrong and there is another cruise let me know bc that sounds nice!
  17. Im sitting here thinking of Nicole and Pookie. I hope these hurricanes dont ruin their wedding days!!!! Pookie gets married today!

Sharla, Did you have your minister guy say the san ceremony or did you guys say it yourselves? I want the guy to say it but they told me they wont. I know we've all discussed this before but i just wanted to know what you had Thanks. Also, did you have a lot of time b/w your ceremony and your cocktail hour? Is that when they typically take pictures?

Ive gotten its too expensive from my own brothers and sister. It doesnt look like they are able to come and it is very hurtful but you know what, this is what i wanted and I have to deal with the consequences. I also feel that i am having a dinner reception back at home anyways that everyone can come to so they will atleast be there...but it still would be nice to have my big sister stand next to me on my wedding day. She lives in Australia as it is so I never get to see her. SO i hear ya there girls. Its a toughy but its what i always wanted to have a destination wedding.
  20. Only?? the only mini freak i would have about it only being 6 months away would be the fact that i havent gotten off my ass to exercise at all to look some what decent for my wedding day. Its just too hot and im just too lazy...haha now wheres my blanket...
  21. Congrats and thanks for your review. And your dad is so cool!

Geez louse. Is anyone getting married on the beach?? Do we just make this decision last minute when we get there?? Plus, I was thinking of asking all of my guests to wear a certain color. like "dress in colors of the ocean" or "dress in colors of the sunset" I've seen in a few of Elizabeth Medina's pictures and it looks cool. Anyone else thinking of doing this?? if so, what color?? random smiley but I thought he was funny. I am getting married on the beach at MP in January. The only reason why i am having a destination wedding is to get married on the beach on the sand. What i did was when i signed my contract i put an asterick with BEACH CEREMONY in big letters and circled it to make sure they knew thats what i wanted. I didnt check off any gazebo or anything so yes they know what exactly i want. I do know also that all the pretty extras that you see in the pictures on the beach are extra $$$. They provide a table and i think thats pretty much it haha. I havent looked into what they offer decoration wise. I figure ill do that when we get assigned a WC or when we get there. Im sure they have something nice that ill like. Im slowly learning not to freak out and plan too much too ahead of time because im going to drive myself to drink....im in grad school, planning a wedding, planning my moms 60th b-day party, working, i just cant sweat the small stuff. Flowers will be beautiful, cake will get eaten regardless what it looks like, ill have about 20 family member photographers there, the decorations I need is the beach sand and the sun, my fiance and few family members will be there and im all set. im suddenly feeling very zen....hahaha
  23. No im not sure if she left yet. Has Sharla posted a new thread about her experience there yet does anyone know? Im so anxious to read it
