Hi there! Congratulations! I, too, am hoping to be married somewhere in either Playa del Carmen or Tulum. I have a quick question/heads up - I was under the impression that we had to be in Mexico for a certain length of time (maybe it's 72 hours?) before we could get married. Have you head anything similar?

I'm interested in how your site visit goes! I'm still trying to decide between a few resorts, although Dreams Tulum is starting to pull ahead in my mind. My only concern with DT is that I hope it still feels "tropical" - I like the modern style of the resort, but I don't want it to feel too sterile. I'm not sure if that makes sense! For some reason, the big rectangle pool dissapoints me a little... I think I'd prefer a curvy, long pool with waterfalls, tropical plants, etc. Anyways, keep me posted on your trip!

I, too, am trying to decide between OGX and Dreams Tulum (and a couple other resorts). Although I'm still waiting for my travel agent to come back with prices, I'm leaning pretty heavily towards Dreams Tulum because of the beach. OGX looks really beautiful, but I really relate to the post that mentions worrying about some family/friends being dissapointed with the small beach. I think that if you're aiming for a resort in this price range, you'll probably have to compromise a little somewhere. If you're not too concerned with a large beach, then I think OGX would be great. -
Hello everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Sarah and I'm planning on getting married in March 2009 in the Mayan Riviera area. I'm currently deciding between 4 resorts (2 in Tulum and 2 closer to Playa del Carmen). It's so hard to choose! There seems to be pros and cons to all of them. I'll keep you posted when I make a decision (hopefully this week!)
